Twice in 5 years my town and the town where Im a firefighter and many counties around us were flooded heavily. Once in 2006 which is the worst flood ever in our area river rose 14 feet over flood stage and then September 2011 river rose 12-13 feet over flood stage. So I know what this is like. Great job brothers.
I know how you feel i responded to a apartment fire when i arrived on the fire I was in my POV chevy S-10 pick up as i pulled up one apartment 2 store what completely involved as i got geared up i was advised that no one saw the lady come out and i had six other apartment attached to the one one fire i can say it was a very helpless feeling knowing you have no line or equipment beside the irons i carry with me at all time luckly they lady got out and the other apartment where empty
I just watched this video. Awesome job by you and your partner. That must had been a hard decision to start opening up the windows, save a life and risk the fire spreading and growing. I would have done the samething. Double edge sword. Was the person inside the structure? The department I was on, we didn't have PPE in our POV's. Maybe a ABC F/E. Maybe start carrying airpacks in your POV's as well. Damn good job and I posted it on my facebook wall for the rest to see.
@Westplainsfd were your hands a little hot when/if you went into the fire with those extrication gloves on I noticed when you went to your truck to get your mask
YOU guys are true American HERO's, damn good job. You guys show everyone what kind of people American Heros are.... fantastic job doesn't even begin to say what kind of praise you guys deserve. Keep up the good work!
Best video of yours yet, Loved the quick thinking with the cooler and efficient use of the flood water, Also nice to see some Civs pitching in to get the water to ya! Very nicely done that fire have spread alot more had you not put SOME water on it =]
I am going to show this on our next training night! Great work! It was awesome how you had everything done for the first due, So that all they needed to do was show up and go in. I have seen chiefs be on scene first an not get as much done as you did.
great job guys! takes alot of guts to go into a fire without anything but turnout gear. Glad to see that you and everyone else are safe. Stay safe out there
impresive work guys. way to bring alittle of the old school techniques. glad everyone was ok and there were no entrapments. geat job and again kudos to you.
I wish I could "Like" this video a million times, it's my new favorite firefighting video of all time. That was badass how you guys started the bucket brigade. Looked like a lot of work but it seemed efficient enough without an engine on scene and without being able to make entry. Amazing video, mad respect. Stay safe!
@StandOnTruth I have been keeping up with all the WPFD videos from pov responses to helmet cam footage and this one video alone shows the quick thinking of the firefighters, their calm composure and their community friendliness. Using the flooding creek to their advantage was brilliant.
These firefighters should be awarded for there work. GREAT job doing everything they can without apparatus there! instead of sitting there and watching it burn they thought on there feet and used the resources they had.. I'v been watching your vids for awhile now and I'm always impressed, stay safe brothers!
Great job boys. Hats off to yinz. Way to make resources work wonders
