I believe it! In anthropology, they always distinguish the animals w/more sophisticated "intelligence" as primates and those that exhibit "tool use" i.e. using twigs to get termites. Parrots aren't the only other animals that use tools, so it's just interesting :)
Awww it's so cute how it uses it like a human would! I would take the term "birdbrain" as a complement after watching this video!

I used to have a Hahn's Macaw too.
Her name was Spunkie and my ex husband to be made me sell her because he couldn't stand the noise she made.

Yes he's a smart cookie. Plus he modifies the tools, he chews the cap to make a jagged edge so it will scratch better.
