  • how hot does your asus g53 get on various use including overload? Ever run cycles on GPU with your gtx 460 m? Does the g53 ever lag?

  • @wickedcrowstudio this Asus G53 have very good cooling, it gets hot but it all goes out from the back, while on the bottom, keyboard, and hand rest it never gets hot.

Cycles runs very well on GPU, is at least 4 or 5x faster than CPU (i7 2630QM).

    Cheers!

  • @pablovazquezz That is awesome to hear that the 460 gt you have runs cycles. :D How hot does the asus g53 usually get? Does it peak up to 90C heat ever?

  • sweet, but looks a little painful, you know, with the head thing goin on lol

  • Linux! :D

  • @VaugerTexas65964

    is awesome

  • This is beautiful... The rendering for it is just amazing... Too bad it would kill my computer...

  • Will an i7 2760 with an Nvidia GeForce 3GB vid memory be enough to run like this? I'm just worried that the GPU won't function properly. I'm looking into a Dell XPS 17.

  • You mean you used GPU instead of CPU, not the contrary ?

  • the for some reason is for a stable experience ? ^^

  • What's the name of this music?

  • @mrjazzycharon2 "Violin Concerto in E major, BWV 1042: I. Allegro" von Johann Sebastian Bach

  • Hey Pablo, nice demo! Is that Vivaldi or Händel?

  • @dsavix4 bach!

  • looks great , when this is implemented in trunk ill buy a new intel i7 pc to use it. ;)

  • I can't believe how close the technology is to realtime fully rendered viewports. I remember I used to only be able to model in wireframe. 15 years ago

  • Gorgeous model, and this music is perfect for it.

Thank you for posting on Cycles. It's very difficult right now to find any good vids about Cycles. I hope that changes soon.

    Subbed friended.

  • great video, and this concerto is awesome :)

  • is there a way for you to limit how much of the gpu is utilized so you can still use the pc whilst the system is rendering and also utilize gpu and cpu at the same time?

  • This is the reason I change from Maya to Blender. Blender keeps growing so fast. Its amazing.

  • @lukassstyyy I remember last year it was not like this, and i'am sure next year it will be totally different.. in a better way of course with features like cycles :D

  • Dude, where'd u get that model? If you made it, you're epic.

  • @TheFXGuy Hey it's pablo vasquez, he made crazy toon like characters !! he is epic..

  • @jalik7 Where did you DL it from, though? Do you have a link, or at least a site where I can look for it?

  • @TheFXGuy search for a cycles build at grapicall(dot)org, you'll need those libs to be installed (boost, freeglut3, glew, Xmu)

  • @jalik7 I already have the build, I meant where can I find the model?

  • hmmm.... even with 270.61 it doesnt work... maybe cause i got the 32 bit build of it ? :0

  • Pablo, your model is very cool! And this clip is very funny for me - it reminds those first films (black&white without sound, piano music on a stage and text phrases on the screen) :D The picture is also noisy so it gives more assosiation :))

  • i downloaded the Cycles+SSE 2 build (should include CUDA because the description tells it) but i can not enable GPU Rendering... any1 know how to ?

  • @mongini1 you must have the latest drivers for your nvidia card (I believe 270.61)

  • @mongini1 You also ahve to install dependancies libs.. i can't remember which one. sorry

  • I like the brecht is awesome text being used as a light, almost as if the brechts "awesomeness" is illuminating that model :P

  • but, when are we gonna be able to use textures, when i try to render more complex models with textures. blender cratch.

  • @georgbernier The cycles crashes for me just trying to render anything (bloody old computer >.<)

  • @georgbernier It's still in Alpha. "When" is unknown. Basically know this - this is going to be production ready in a year or two.

  • wtb how?

  • nice

  • i'm excited to see cycles get going! it reminds me of luxrender.

  • @underhill1994 Yeah except cycles should be able to render a triple layered SSS shader

  • @mrjimmyos isn't still in development? i'm gunna bet it'll have it later on :)

  • @underhill1994 Yeah it is, I can't wait for the release!
