  • Terrific! It's Star Trek moments like these that make me miss the 90s.

  • James Darren for president of the quadrant.

  • I have every episode of all 700+ star trek tv shows from every series in my hard drive and the Vic ones I watch the most.

  • Love James Darren...

  • 2 people are bloodless phtqs

  • this song is so good and it helped Odo get his first date

  • this song is so good

  • I love all the Vic episodes

  • Anyway, Vic Fontaine has about 1000 links on Net. Quite enough for a TV character

comming from 20 years old show. He shall be virtually alive for a long time, till someone invents first (Panasonic) home holodeck. I will buy one with Vegas program. Cheers!

  • I want to fly away to Lake Tahoe every time I hear this song. I really miss Lake Tahoe

  • Vic Fontaine is my favorite DS9 character for sure.

That episode where he helped Nog through a war wound and then earned the right to remain online permanently was just the best.

  • I would never leave the holosuite!

  • @Buuuuuutch That episode with Nog constantly in the holosuite (I don't want to spoil the story, if you or others did not seen that episode yet), was very interesting...i understood why Nog wanted to stay, but Vic ha...nevermind... ;-)

  • i really like this episode Vic Fontaine singing one of Frank Sinatra"s songs

    and Odo Playing the piano

  • Am i the only Trek fan that hates this crap.............Why was this even in any episodes of Star Trek.................If i wanted to watch crap like this I'd watch the next Dirge Simon Cowell is releasing!

Honestly guys, how are we supposed to ever BELIEVE that WORF likes Vic Fontaine music.................He likes Kligon Opera!

  • @Camelsarse It's escapism! Just enjoy. If you want to question everything then the Universal Translator wouldn't work in sync either. Moving faster than the speed of light is a myth. Relax, it's Star Trek not Science or the Gospel!!

  • @Camelsarse "how are we supposed to ever BELIEVE that WORF likes Vic Fontaine music.................He likes Kligon Opera!" He Also likes Prune juice!

  • @thebluemaggot LOL! How could I forget. Prune Juice. Perhaps thats why he likes Vic Fontaine...........Both good for movement of the bowels............. ;-)

  • @Camelsarse

I can believe it. Many people now listen to music from the 1700s ;)

Also I thought Worf hated Vic Fontaine?

  • @leeham991 Worf didn't hate Vic... he made Vic sing to him so he (Worf) would hate himself more (almost like a self-punishment deal). I think Worf secretly liked Vic

  • Vic teaches Odo to swing... and, ultimately, because he no longer seems so needy ('cause he knows how to SWING!), Odo gets the girl...

    Now there's a life-lesson for y'all...

  • I kind of remind myself of Odo. I'm suspicious of people, to myself, quiet, Take everything too serious, and also seeking romance with a woman. Odo loved Kira a lot. I love a woman too but she cant be with me because she belongs to another guy. I remember when Odo would see Kira with an other man it eat him up emotionaly.

  • Of course Enterprise needed one, and Dr. Phlox was going to be it, but being an aimless series up to the last season, Trip took the seat of most endearable character, not because of his problems with humanity, but because of him stealing the show. So they killed him off. Really mature guys.

  • Odo is a good character; all Star Trek series needed a bystander, someone to try to be human. Spock, Data, Odo, Doctor. In the new movie it was all forgotten, Spock again, but he's just like a spoiled brat in that one. Annoying, not interesting. What made Star Trek interesting was it's deep probing of the human psyche and contemporary issues. The new movie had none of that really. It didn't have heart. That's what all the Star Trek TV series had.

  • I love Odo!!!

  • Great upload. All the DS9 characters are such good actors. Would of loved if they had it going for 20 years lol :)

  • Kaplar for you Imperial Commander, you are great, thanks for that!

  • Ah, c'mon... I thank you my friend, for your visit!

  • @merlin4622 Isn't it Qapla'?

  • Wow just saw new fact ,piano built by mentor.....Gw heroquest link?

  • James Darren/Vic deserves the voyager holo-emitter upgrade!.

  • James Darren was the perfect addition to DS9 as

Vic Fontaine. I play his CDs all the time as well as Sinatra's.

  • I love this episode and Vic lol! This is one of my favorite episodes of DS9 if NOT the favorite!

  • Love this kind of music! PERFECTLY suited for Odo!

  • Vic was a really developed character.

  • thank you for keeping playing the film at the normal speed. a bunch of other videos like this are sped up a tad, making everything sound half step higher

  • And you have no idea - I had to watch several TNG episodes like that - most annoying thing ever...

  • It's so strange that though Odo is not physically a perfect specimen, he is still just so 10000% cute anyways.

  • Odo is so darn adorable. :D

  • Odo was and is my favorite DS9 character.

  • Odo come to Vic more time pls, nice jazz...:)

  • OMG that's cute, Odo's adorable - nervous/unsure at first but getting right into it later on, cute scene! :-)

  • very nice

  • AWWHH!!

    Odo is so cute...

  • Does anyone know how the Special Effects crew did 0:17 ?

  • there are several ways, one is superimposing one vid over another, and masking, then again one could use video morphing or similar technique

  • COOL!

  • Rene Auberjonois is actually a classically trained player, ive heard..

  • really? wow he certainly fakes not knowing how to play well!

  • aww lovely. Do you know who's the original singer of Come fly with me?

  • Frank Sinatra

  • Dean Martian actually, but i dont blame you for the confusion

  • Dean Martin actually, but I don't blame you for the spelling error.

  • the last 3 ds9 seasons were great, and vic fontaine was a great addition, i love the episodes he's in.

  • Aw...I like Odo. :)

  • I like it.

  • Excellent! Odo is so sweet

  • HOW CUTE. I wish he got to be that happy more often x3

  • What is essentally a

    Frank Sinatra/Dean Martin clone.

    God Bless the Federation. :)

  • who cares..it swings..haha

    Have fun !

  • hey guys what is this style of music? Just juzz?

  • Yeah, its pretty much a Jazz standard.

  • It was a daring experiment to add a character like him to the series. But it was worth it! Vic Fontaine is an awsome character. To bad he was added so late in the series! I wont ever forget the times i had "onboard" the DS9 :-)

  • Mirror Bashir killed both Odo and Vic Fontaine in the mirror universe.

  • Actually, Regular Bashir killed Odo when he was escaping from the Mirror Universe. Then, in another episode, Mirror Bashir killed Mirror Fontaine.

  • lol BUT it wasnt a hologram Vic

  • Vic Fontaine was a great character

  • I'm with you there, pal. Problem is... I didn't watch many episodes with him. But he is certainly a good character

  • @ImperialCommander I loved the episode Badda-bing Badda-bang. its a good one

  • @lindleya it's kind of like oceans eleven in a way

  • Dam right! I even got James Darrens Cd of ST music

  • Great video, I enjoyed it. But I'm confused again-isn't this a copyright violation? There's lots of stuff I'd like to post if I thought I could get away with it; what am I missing? And by the way, do you have the video of "I'll Be Seeing You"??

  • To be totally honest, I'm not sure if there's a copyright violation or not. As you can see, I mentioned Paramount Pictures at the end, and I'm not trying to get any credit for the show or the video itself. It is, of course, of public domain that Star Trek belongs to Paramount. If you wanna upload something, I advise you to mention your sources and the owner. But be careful with any kind of content that belongs to Warner. They will hunt you down if they find something on YouTube.

  • "Style baby, style!" - Yeah, Vic does have style, he was a great addition to DS9.

  • ST:DS9 is my favorite Star Trek Show. The caracters are so deep, and the introduction of Vic Fontaine was one of the highlights of the show.

They had so many great recuring caracters that made the show so very great.

And just for a matter of advice to Paramount:

    I WANT A DS9 MOVIE!!!!

  • Hello Imperial Commander;

This was a really fun episode and DS9 is a great show.

Thanks for your passion and talent here, Fred

  • Thanks for watching, man... Now tell me, who's Fred?

  • Fred is me dude ... one of the most dedicated Star Trek fans in Canada.

  • Lol... sorry about that... I was kind of sleepy when I read your comment. I'm not always this slow. Anyway, thanks for watching Fred, really. Maybe you'd like to check out my other vid and my favorites. You'll find a lot of Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, I bet you'll like it.

  • I have and I put a couple in my favourites.

I studied 4 years of math and science in university here in Toronto and I think it was Star Trek that first got me hooked on science.

Thank you again for your talent.

  • Well, I really like Star Trek, but you see... I'm no good for Science. I mean... I really like it, but Physics and Math just kill me. I'll try to go to college in the end of this year, get a degree in International Relations here in Brazil, because History and Geography are really what I'm good at (excluding English). Anyway, thanks again. I'll try to post something soon.

  • Hello from Toronto, Commander;

I was just watching your video 'Odo & Kira Kiss', this is also one of my favourites from DS9.

I hope all is well for you and your studies.

Chat with you later ... Fred (thats me!?!)

  • Odo looks like JOE SIMUNIC from Hertha berlin

  • Then you've proved my point with your StarGate example - Drama! As far as BSG ending with the 4th season .. I think that's sensible ... afterall how far can the producers drag out the "Search for Earth" ?

  • Stargate is funny, and it isn't nearly the drama BSG is, sleeping with 'the enemy' while holding a high ranking position, and not even being sure if the person you 'sleep' with actually exists.

It's just far more dramatic then it needs to be, and isn't a good a show. As to finding earth, Stargate made defeating the Goa'uld take at least 7, and BSG obviously switched gears for a bit when it landed on 'New Caprica' or whatever.

  • What on earth does any of this have to do with the clip being presented here??

  • It's a sci-fi branch off discussion, don't question it, there isn't much logic to it anyway.

  • Great vid :D

  • Did anyone know that Frank Sinatra Jr. was originally supposed to play Vic Fontaine?

He was a fan of the show, but wanted to play an alien (which he did).

  • Really? I didn't know that.

  • Really? I didn't know that.

  • Now, i'm curious about that, pal! That's something i really didn't know. And i'm a star trek/ frank sinatra fan. That's really impressive. But... what else can you tell me about it?

  • You do know I mean Sinatra Jr. right? The son?

He starred in an episode of this (I don't remember the title, it was like 'Companion' or something), and was on Family guy, he actually sang it's ending theme.

  • You mean he never actually played a Star Trek alien?

  • Thanks. Great vid :)

  • It always makes me smile to see Odo having fun like that.

  • Odo is so adorable!

  • I am going to be brutaly honest...Odo CANNOT play for shit XD

  • Thank you for posting!. I miss DS9 so much. Star Trek at its best. Bravo Imperial commander!.

  • LOL! New Battlestar Galactica ?

  • Sucks, nuff' said

  • You think so ? To each to their own I suppose.

  • It started out okay, but by mid-second season it became just a Sci-fi variation of a soap opera, not to emntion for a Sci-Fi it lacks heavily on technology, we still see White boards, cars, classic phones, guns, as if this is are own time-frame with some elements thrown in.

  • Perhaps that was done deliberate. Probably because it was envisioned that the BSG

universe - is maybe 100-150yrs ahead of earth. As as far technology is concerned. Don't forget the Galactica is an archiac ship compared to Pegasus.

  • The white board was on the President's ship, so was one of the phones I was talking about, and cars were back on the home planet, not to mention we see old style guns all over the place. The fact that Galactica is an old ship is irrelevant.

Also, the point remains, it's a soap opera in space, way too much drama, especially when it comes to personal relationships.

  • Completely disagree. But like I said - to each to their own. I can't stand the continous and lame Star Trek script of: "We're all going to die - but if we re-route the plasma conduit trhough the EPS deflector.. then we might live." Then as if by a miracle everyone is ok.

  • You can disagree, but it's the truth, it IS a soap opera, and it IS lacking on technology. If you can still like it, fine, but don't try to deny what it is.

As to Star trek, I don't really care, DS9 is pretty much the only series I like, and for three reasons:

    1. Vic Fountaine segments.

    2. ship to ship/Fleet Battles (the thing that originally attracted me to Star Trek at the start, needless to say, DS9 is the pinnacle of this)

    3. The Quark and Odo interactions which are a laugh a second.

  • You're right it is a soap opera. I've never said otherwise. But the global tv market is being successful because of the drama elements SCI-FI. Star Trek and it's spin-offs are nolonger around - because the market is stagnant with the typical Star-Trek scripts. People are bored with it. And because Star-Trek and it's spin-offs aren't around is because the tv producers have taken it as far as it can go (eg there is no room anymore for it in the market) and drama sci-fi has taken off.

  • ... No, it hasn't taken off, BSG is going to end in it's 4th season, just like Enterprise did, and that's pathetic.

The most succesful Sci-Fi series right now is still Stargate, despite that SG-1 has been taken off the air, if BSG can be beat by a spin-off, then that's also a sign to say it just ain't that good, or at least it's not meeting audience approval.

  • and what about Doctor Who??????

  • ... what about it? It's the longest lasting Sci-fi series, but far from the most succesful, the '9th' doctor just left the show after one season, not a good rep to have.

  • so hot!! so hot!! jd rules

  • Did anybody know that when James Darren was asked to do this, he was so excited and honored, that he asked Dean Martin's widow if he could borrow Dean's shoes to wear while playing Vic Fontaine?

  • ahahaha, oh that's adorable!

  • true

  • I love this episode. Odo's so cute in a tuxedo.

  • Go Odo!!!!

  • vic is my favret

  • So cool ...

  • The DS9 producers sure had some style. Awesome!
