I don't know if you've ever seen poverty bro, but philippines is a 3rd world country. and there are no jobs there. that's why you see a ton of filipino nurses or the military working over seas or moved to the US. They leave to find a better life. If I had to guess, these guys are any type of manual labor workers. but yes, filipinos love to gamble.
Dam,dont any of these guys have jobs? Their standing around a broken down table like its the best thing going,of course they all play good pool, none of them work, and fuck off all day practicing pool.I wonder who supports them,Once everyone knows your a pool hustler, they wont play you for any big money, anyway.
first only then the opposing player takes a dice of the color of the opposing player who made the mistake and puts on one side of the ''home base'' line. If there are no dices to take out a minus dice is counted in for the opponent, i.e., when the opponent will score the other player will take out as much dices as many minuses the player had.
NOTE: TO MAKE THE DICES SLIDE ACROSS THE TABLE PLAYERS (MOSTLY) USE BORIC ACID AND SMOOTH PAPER (MAGAZINES, NEWSPAPERS, ) TO FOIST THE PLAYING SURFACE!
To determine which player will start the game both players lag just like in pool. The one with the closest hit to the opposite rail wins the lag. In the center (I think that not in this game in this video) in novus there is a ''penalty circle'' where, if a dice flies off the table, it is placed and then the dice must be ''played out'' by the player who received the penalty by hitting at least once the opposite rail. The same rule applies when the ''cow'' flies in or the opponent's dice is hit
A few more facts - the main dice (in Latvia also called ''the cow'') is usually heavier than the small dices because it's the hitting dice and for professionals (or by professionals, enthusiasts) it's hand made as well as the cue to fit perfectly for the height of each player. Starting peaces (eight small dices) are placed next to each other four on each side of thin line separating the sides in the middle. The place where each opponent places his dices is called the ''home zone''.
It's called novuss in Latvia. The table is a flat square made out of wood with four (in Latvia) circle shape pockets. The game is simple while dices (flat wooden peaces) are being slided over the table. The is one main dice which is (if I'm not wrong) two times bigger as the dices hit. So we can say that there is ''cue ball'' and ''object balls''. Eight dices on two (opposite) sides. Usually red and black. First who pockets all wins. Easier than pool and fun as well. Requires less space in room.
you are very welcome. I hope to post the Latvian type of this game very soon to show more precisely how the game is played and how it looks. Here I added some more detailed descriptions in case you want to know more.
Don't be a dunce. Take a look at that first shot. Replace the wooden table with a snooker table. Now substitute a snooker ball for the small disk and place it against the rail. Replace the large cue disk with a 3-cushion billards ball.
Shoot that shot 1000 times. I'll give you 500 Euros for every time you make that shot. You, in turn, give me 5 Euros every time you miss. Make that shot just twice in 1000 tries, you start making a profit.
