In overcoming death via the cross, apart from taking our sins, Jesus overcame the pain and brutality the cross represented and changed it to a sign of love, grace and compassion. In challenging a worldly power without worldly warfare, Christ changed the feared sign of brutality of worldly powers to a sign of God’s compassion.

(Mark 10:18) Jesus was not stop the man form calling him good, but was inquiring from him so that the man could understand the eternal life the man wanted to inherit.
