lmao could you get any stupider. The caller had the man rejecting the essence of his religion in a matter of seconds. Now that's what you called resolute faith LOL
Dear ProViSional111: Your belief is your choice - if your scripture so permit! Has not God given you the right to be an Ahmadis, Hindu, Muslim, etc. and, if your scripture says Jesus was in a comma – believe accordingly - as clear as the sun or, as clear as water?
God is in control, allowing different religion for his purpose and accordingly the different believers.
Questions in the video clip are enticing, which Christians should find thought provoking and be ready to answer. However, as the Holy Bible says: My people perish because of lack of knowledge.
Some points raised in the clip can be clarified as follows:
A. Christians need to have a historical perspective of the cross to respond when it is equated with an electrical chair. Around the time of Christ the cross reflected the brutality of the imperial powers that used it on their conquered subjects – not on their own citizens. Due to the brutality and hanging, it was considered cursed. Dying in an electrical chair – a convenient way of punishing citizens – and dying on the cross – a brutal way of killing non-citizens – is very, very different.
B1. Christ’s death on the cross does not mean humans are stronger, rather it shows God’s compassion for humans using the most powerful empire of the time. In overcoming death via the cross, apart from taking our sins, Jesus overcame the pain and brutality the cross represented and changed it to a sign of love, grace and compassion. In challenging a worldly power without worldly warfare, Christ changed the feared sign of brutality of worldly powers to a sign of God’s compassion.
Dear Patrick .. We Ahmadis things as clear and as clear as the sun
I do not believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross .. But I believe that the heart of the semi and then the people (the Jews) that he died .. Because he did not die but was faint means (in a coma, sleeping) and then a healthy Christ of trance and then finished his career in life and died a natural death ..
B2. Christ died willingly as the scripture certifies, and after he overcame death by his Resurrection, he and his disciples did not seek revenge against anyone. By NOT responding in a worldly way Christ became the epitome of Compassion – different from what the cross reflected before – reflecting an inward change of the cross. The Love of Christ gave the cross a new meaning and centuries later changed the Roman Empire and the continent.
C. Jesus did not say "Do not call me good" rather "Why do you call me good?" (Mark 10:18) Jesus was not stop the man form calling him good, but was inquiring from him so that the man could understand the eternal life the man wanted to inherit. Reading associated passages it is clear that those who believe Jesus is good, believe he is God. However, for some giving up the riches of this world can be difficult. His true believers follow him and have an inheritance in the Kingdom of God.
D. Thus Christ said: my kingdom is not of this world—as the hallmark of this world is brutality, worldly warfare and domination. If Western governments are fair and open to scriptural transparency it will show that the New Testament has no worldly warfare or hate for any group. Christ’s followers need to have his compassion, through an inward change, while willing to give up the riches of this world if required.
