I met a state trooper on a two lane road one night didn't know it. My radar had green light meaning all clear then no sooner as I went by him the radar lit up 5 red lights...then went back to green I hate instant on...it should be illegal
Actually I have the solution to all your problems. You don't need to spend a ton of money to install radar detectors or high tech gadgetry in your car. Are you ready for this? I've been keeping this a secret for a very long time. JUST GO THE SPEED LIMIT!!! Your welcome. :-)
All I do is just drive no more than 5-6 miles over the speed limit and cops are not interested in pulling me over. Simple and safe. No need to waste money on laser detectors and other bullshit.
@SpeedTrapHunter I have fun driving, not speeding and breaking the law.
But still I do warn drivers on the opposite side about the speedtrap by flashing high beams.
I had too many speeding tickets in the past and I got tired of that.
There is no laser detector that works 100%. I have grown up and stopped driving too fast. For the last few years I have never got pulled over, I don't have to go to traffic courts, hire lawers, etc.
@DocentUSA I drive right on the speed limit 2 over sometimes and I still get pulled over no tickets. If you drive a Porsche, corvette, Ferrari, ford GT or just a hot rod you'll be pulled over just for the hell of it by the police. This shit happens to me nearly twice a month and my Porsche is a daily driver. I have a radar detector now just incase, to make sure that my cruise control is still at the speed. Its always better to be safe then sorry....California CHP are donut munching assholes.
If it is used often on the interstates then they can't get a bunch of reading since there is lots of traffic. What would be the point of io radar when there is so much traffic?
Laser is preferred method for extreme high density. Selective IO radar to target vehicles taking advantage of brief openings in traffic. Having a quick and sensitive radar detector is ESSENTIAL to pick up alerts from OTHERS being targeted.
When alone on a road, detectors utility goes WAY DOWN. Never forget that.
@SpeedTrapHunter@TheXboxlover45 The problem you will have is no matter how much traffic is on the road, the laser beam is at most a few inches wide, very pinpoint. Laser is also a spectrum of light wave and hence travels at the speed of light. Even if your unit reads in the milliseconds it will not match the speed of light of the laser and then add to that braking reaction time which means that by the time the detector emits a signal, you have been read and locked with IO laser. I know, bummer.
I got blasted Friday on Route 15 in Northern NJ. I/O KA 34.7. LEO was in a perfect ambush spot, and I wasn't paying attention. My Redline lit up like a Christmas tree and if I was speeding he would have nailed me for sure. I was going up a hill, and he was on the plateau out of LOS. As I crested, ZAP from about 100 yards. There was no one ahead of me, so I had no advanced warning at all. Anyway, just a reminder to keep your wits about you when driving!
well, im a police officer myself and one strategy we like to use when we are "hidden" is to not run the radar at all, becuse all of the waves going out from MY radar will be picked up by YOUR radar detector and it will give away the point of the "surprise", but if i sit there and turn on the radar for a split second into oncoming traffic then turn it off, i can see how fast you are going before you even realize im reading your speed, be careful with the radar detector, dont trust the thing 100%.
@s14owner I dont trust mine for watching for cops lol, but it does alert me to other thing such as an approaching ambulance or Fire trucks. Also if there is a Railroad crossing that has a train coming it will also go off and alert me to that. People who get radar detectors and think they can speed and get away with it are just plain stupid.
Giving tickets for going a few miles over the speed limit doesn't save lives. It is just a way for the city/county to make money. There should be law prohibiting cops from giving tickets less than 10 miles over the speed limit.
Most of the cops here in Houston/Harris County, TX use Ka which has few false alerts. So when I get an alert I slow down right away! K is harder to tell. I have yet to come across any laser since getting my RX65. I got busted by Laser and had to do defensive driving.
hey sensesfaily0, i respectfully disagree, the cops was not on grass, if u make the pic bigger and pause it, look behind the cop right above the grass he is parked by, u can c gray, that is concrete, means its a road with a curb, look closer and its an undercover cop, didnt have the word police on the side or lights on top. but like i said i respectfully disagree
Pause the video. That isn't a police car OR undercover. Cops won't setup on grass like that, because it's pointless. Another thing, going by your two stickers in the window, you're probably in Pennsylvania
Little note: The only cops that are allowed to use radar guns/lasers have always been State Troopers, which will pretty much NEVER setup on normal town roads.
The little "beeps" are nothing but an anomaly (probably cheap radar detector.)
Keep on thinking your some Speed Trap Hunter, man.
About the the most ridiculous comment I have seen in a long while!
What planet are you from? Hiding in difficult to spot locations is a oft used strategy which enables ambush type instant-on radar usage. You obviously don't drive much if you don't believe LEO's go through the trouble to hide.
Do you actually think that I don't know where I was when I videoed this? It was south Jersey, you knucklehead and PA state troopers are only permitted to operate K-band, not Ka or Laser.
So PA state troopers are the only ones that operate radar in PA. Good to know if I ever pass through that state and its only K not KA right? In NC they pull that sneaky shit, they all do it. Gotta fill that quota. LOL
@sensesfaily0 Really, is that why every Police officer in the state of Alaska use them? Its not just the State troopers that use Radar. Who ever told you that does not know what they are talking about. Maby in your local area they dont but I know down In Texas the local cops where Iived there for a short time also used Radar. Also up here the Cops AND state troopers use radar all the time even on normal town roads.
@sensesfaily0 LMAO wow your such an idiot its not even funny. You obviously don't know anything about radar detectors or cops. First of the 9500 CI radar detector he has is worth $1500. Fucking think before you talk you dumbshit
australian laws don't allow for police to hide when using these speed 'traps'.. some fines were overturned after proving the cops weren't visible enough!
Yeah! Sometimes cops don't bother turning on the radar gun from their potral car! They use by eye or common sence

Hey great video man. Do you know if instant on radar is used often on the interstates?
TheXboxlover45 8 months ago
@TheXboxlover45 and with that, no radar detector will help you.
It will detect the signal when it is already pointed at you and it's too late.
