  • seeing as thought so many people miss things like this...so DO I!!! (I'm only 13 but really kids my age...GET INTO THIS STUFF it's great so much better than a lot of todays TV)

  • im writing a tv series like this...wish I could actually see it on television

  • Sucks more that their mother character is a lesbian. Sick bitch eating tuna tacos.

  • @dalotel you are a backwards bastard!!! Sick in the head if you thin gay and lesbians are bad...You will rotten to hell for judging...pig

  • @OZCY79 I think illiterate queers are bad too, like you.

  • i agree .. thank god for MJF and its awful that he has to suffer with Parkinsons -- can't believe how the cast has changed over the years beginning with Tina Yothers and all the way to Meredith Birney . Too bad Brian Bonsall ( who played the littlest Keaton - Andrew ) -- wish it wouldn't have ended at 7 seasons..... wanted to see the show wrapped up .

  • Wow. Mathew Brodrick instead of Michael J. Fox.

This could have been very different.

  • MUY BUENO, GOOD...

    MASRG.

  • Thank God Michael J Fox got the part...I reeally don't think Matthew Broderick what have fit in

  • I really wish they'd put tv shows up like that now days :( They don't make stuff like that any more :\

  • It's nice to see so many comments saying how much they miss TV when you could at least sit down with the whole family & laugh & enjoy a show. Remember that? Gone forever unless you have the internet hooked up to the TV or stick in DVD! But why has it come to this? I'm no prude but everything now is basically souless porn. The elites are now socially engineering us through the media which they now own to be promiscuous, have no shame, no values, back stab to get ahead in life etc etc. Why???

  • @robhere1982 I second third and fourth that.

  • @robhere1982 very well said. It will come back again. Don't worry.

  • Mj fox is OLD :O

  • i really loved this show

  • Oh My Lord, I just found out Meredith Birney Baxter and Michael Gross did the voices of Elise's parents on The Dan Vs Show <3

  • Does MJF illness make twitch or move like that,he seams worse when he was being talked to??

  • @flashdancebabe Yes Parkinsons

  • oh yes, tina yothers, in a lawsuit, she changed her year of birth from 1973 to 1968. obvisiously 1968's false, nice try. you seemed so much more age 9 than 14 when the show started.

  • Family ties <3

  • Where the hell is nick moore?

  • Justine was so hot

    Now she looks like shit

How old was she when she started the show

  • @24meatballs - she is like 44 today. She started that show at like 15 or something. all things considered she maintained ok.

  • @BarefootRadio Yeah I think Justine looks pretty OK for mid 40s. Her teeth seem jacked up, but I was expecting worse. At least she looks thin, Tina Yothers looks like a whale. The dad seems to have aged the best.

  • Anyone read Meredith's book....it was really good, and she talks a lot about FT. Her husband abused her for years and he was so jealous he never made one taping of the show....175 episodes.

  • Did you guys know that Brian Bonsall played Alexander Rozhenko on Star Trek: The Next Generation?

  • @ChrisCa1601 that is awesome. two of the best shows ever.

  • Comment removed

  • god you wouldn't even recognise tina if she didn't speak. i know i didn't

  • The 80's were golden years for sitcom shows. NBC in particular was a heavy hitter turning out hit after hit from A-Team, Miami Vice, Cosby Show, Family Ties, Knight Rider, and St. Elsewhere the list just goes on and on. Classic shows that are sorely missed.

  • poor mike. parkinsons disease is bullshit. it shouldn't even exist anymore. the big pharm corps have a cure but are just not releasing it because they will make more money selling medications to treat the disease (although they really dont do anything). sick world we live in.

i feel sorry for justine batemen. she hasnt aged well.

tina yothers too. well not really age. shes just gotten fat.

  • I've been revisiting this show via 'Netflix', and it still holds up. My 11 and 9 year old boys like it as well. Really too bad that there aren't any comparable shows like this on currently. That's why my family will never have cable... but we'll always have Netflix, where we can have full access to so many of the 80s situation dramedies that I loved so much as a kid.

  • @JNugent74 On Netflix you should rent the show the Big C. It's funny but it has a lot of meaning behind it. One of the best current tv shows. One of the only reasons why we have Showtime. But not for the kiddies though there is swearing and brief nudity sometimes.

  • Family Ties was the best...and I love how Michael J Fox tied in his final season of another great show of his Spin City to his Family Ties character Alex P Keaton saying that his character Mike on Spin City working as a lobbyist in DC met Alex!!

  • @KiryuZero514 i never saw that!

  • @KiryuZero514 it was also pretty cool when he had christopher lloyd on spin city! it was hilarious.

  • did you know Justine Bateman is related to Actor Jason Bateman if you didn't know just let me know ok

    @Thekevin440

  • I didn't know Flea was the creator of this show!

  • Tina Youthers is actually kinda hot now.

  • Sha la la laaaa

  • I feel bad for Michael J. Fox, but he is a trooper.

  • @EricMB7 I know. The poor guy couldn't sit still, that illness is so bad.

  • was it any good family ties i remember it being on channel 4 years ago - cheers was on around the same time but i thought that was fucking shit - but i did like comic strip presents the young ones on channel 4

  • meredith baxter would later reveal herself to the world about her true sexuality, and little andy runs into trouble in boulder colorado!

  • Didn't recognize Tina Yothers at first with black hair!

Michael Gross looks GREAT and so does Meredith Baxter. She's now married to a woman, I think... :-)

  • Tina looks beautiful

  • Poor MIcheal J Fox. It is sad to watch him but he is a fighter and an inspiration.

  • I started to cry when I saw Michael.

  • Meredith Baxter Birney still looks pretty amazing.

  • Thumbs up if you read Michael's book "Lucky Man"

  • It hurts SO MUCH to see him like this... Damn you, Parkinson disease!!!

  • @SingenStattAtmen I know. It took a really grat actor... a really great *human*...

  • @SingenStattAtmen so true love michael, hate parkinson, too young

  • @SingenStattAtmen It really does. I haven't seen an interview with him in the past year or so, and this video was 3 years ago, so the effects have probably worsened,,,,:( He has the most amazing attitude though...truly an inspiration....Love you, Michael.....<3

  • he says ONE of the best... the best being Michael

  • No Nick? Or Skippy?

Or Andy with his tattoes, arrest sheet, and drug problem!

    WE WANT SKIPPY!

  • they need to make a reunion show

  • God it sucks that ppl cant stay young and as they were forever. The cast of this show has been hit particularly hard by unlucky fate, with the possible exception of M. Gross and Tina Yothers. I really wish them all the best. The day the first one of them passes away, I will probably tear up. How could you not? This show was so much a part of the lives of ppl who grew up in the 1980s. Long live Family Ties.

  • @SouthOCmixdown

"The cast of this show has been hit particularly hard by unlucky fate"

How you figure? Micheal was sick but titled his auto biography Lucky Man. Merideth was divorced (no park walk) but came out and seems ok in her life.

Life happens...I've been up and down (currently up) over the years, probably same as you.

  • @BobbyEnergy

"I can cure Micheal J. Fox of his health problem..at least i feel pretty sure i can.... Again .. if anyone know how to get a hold of him send me an email"

Oh yes...asking a bunch of people on youtube will do this.

and I'm sure you as a "guy on the internet" are so qualified to "cure" his disease. if you have a magical cure all why not just go public instead of contacting one guy?

    asshole.

  • @hipstermi Well..i should have just said that if he becomes a raw foodist then his health issue will most likely go away...i wouldnt go public since "im just a guy on the internet" i simply was watching a "get together of a cast from a show i watched in the 80's and my love for Micheal, as a human being and talented actor..i dont want to see him suffer..raw foods is a universal panacea..when you consume alchohal..and cooked foods and animal products you get disease...its really that simple.

  • @BobbyEnergy

Oh great...another vegan who thinks his magical diet gives him super powers. Yes, I know the raw diet.

Newsflash- Parkinson's disease is a progressive degenerative disorder of the central nervous system. Eating wheat germ and alvacados isn't going to "cure" it. if it was THAT simple...don't you think :

    a. raw vegans would never get sick or get Parkinson

    b. Dr.s and research scientists would have discovered this?

Also..how do you know Micheal HASN'T tried your magical diet?

  • Comment removed

  • @BobbyEnergy

You are like the conservative Christians. You are pretending to be a "nice" guy with your thinly veiled insults about me "not" being happy. So my family, wife, career, etc mean nothing because I dont eat raw vegan. Fuck you and your self righteous attitude.

I'm not debating the health benefits of eating veggies. Bu it DOES NOT cure Parkinsons. You are being irresponsible with these false claims. I challenge you to post any REAL scientific data about Parkinsons to the contrary

  • Hey? Where's cockroach??

  • @donlon77 hes on the cosby show asshole

  • @UNDERTAKERSFANZ It was a joke, cocksucker.

  • @rodeocowgirlboots Andy is in jail or something. :(

  • I love this show. Such wonderful people involved.

  • You can tell he is so fighting for control as he is talking. Keep fighting Michael!!

  • Comment removed

  • i wonder if they all keep in touch with each other. The chemistry between all of them was phenominal on screen and you absolutely felt it.

  • where's brian bonsall?

  • wow,Justine Bateman was one of my 80's hotties but she has not aged well at all! did she do drugs or something?? Tina Yothers looks pretty cool though.

  • @lakings13 Justine had an eating disorder and it really speeds up aging.

  • Michaels disease is noticable at times but at times he is good at hiding it like watch scrubs for example

  • What's the number 1 comedy on tv today? "Two And A Half Men"? I tried watching that show...every joke it seems is a sexual innuendo a 15yr old could come up with. Sitcoms today seem to have no wholesome value whatsever.

Even "Married With Children" seems tame by today's standards.

  • @cumbco i totally agree with you.

  • @cumbco

""Two And A Half Men"? I tried watching that show...every joke it seems is a sexual innuendo a 15yr old could come up with. "

Oh come on...dont do that. Don't be an old fart "back in my day". Back in your day someone complained Family Ties was NOT like "Leave it To Beaver" or "The Brady Bunch" I bet. Alex lost his virginity and dressed like Hef one ep...you never saw Wall or Greg get any tail.

  • @hipstermi Nothing to do with "being old" as you put it...I just don't find it funny.

  • @cumbco

And back to my point... older Leave it to Beaver fans probably didnt find Family Ties funny...or Family Ties had too much sex in it.

Outside of sex... I'm sure back in the 80s there were shows you didnt find funny either.

Ever see Small Wonder? The writers had to be on some very bad crack to produce that.

  • @cumbco Maybe a touch tame, but Married with Children is still incredibly funny. Modern shows like Two and a Half Men are just boring.

  • @cumbco totally agree...and im a fan of two and half men...but the quality of that show cant compare to stuff I grew up with... The sad truth of the matter is.....the golden era of television is long gone :( . sitcoms such as family ties, cosby, cheers,etc....and other tv shows in general back during the 60s, and 70s.... Home Improvement is probably the last "family" style sitcom show that I remember. As soon as the 90s came to a close....reality hell took over.

  • @mbenzsl2000 You should check out Still Standing it is clean and funny as heck. It is on ABC family. I aso like Everybody loves raymond, but it gets old fast. Still Standing is very reminiscent of the older shows like Home Improvement.

  • @cumbco except for Christina Applegate being the reason for millions of raging hard boners every week... Still works for me... Watch a few episodes... fapfapfapfapfapfap

  • @cumbco too true. thats what i love about these old shows. i can take a crude joke like the next person but i feel sexual innuendo is like swearing. jerry seinfeld once said he never wanted to curse in his stand-up cos that would lower the standard of his jokes. i feel the same about sex.it makes it easier. david faustino got the married with children cast back together not too long ago and made some skit about making a reunion movie.it was terrible!!they used 'fuck'.totally threw me

  • @cumbco what about the big bang theory huh huh whow doesnt like the big bang theory its funny its geeky its fungeeky

  • It's so sad when something like that happens to someone, whatever you do, but it's so sad to see someone like Michael suffering from it. I'm not someone who says things like this, but he is such an inspiration for people suffering from anything. :)

  • Michael J. Fox is a classy, genuine dude.. Your career will never go unnoticed

  • God bless him... This man deserves so much respect.

    GO TO HELL FUCKING PARKINSON.

  • Michael J Fox, will always be the actor who introduced the possibility to travel through time. BACK TO THE FUTURE is a type of film that cannot be redone, because no other actor can be McFly.

  • I know, Justine doesn't even look like the same person she was back in the 80's. I agree with you there. She looks so-so, but the Mallory i grew up with back then was HOT! =) Michael J. Fox is an awesome actor & always will be. He was awesome on Family Ties and the Back to the Future movies! When that guy said, We didn't want to abuse the viewers. No, i think Hollywood is abusing us now days, giving us sh!tty TV shows, THAT is abuse!! >:( TV Now SUCKS!!!! Give us the 80's N E DAY!

  • I hate watching Michael J Fox like that, i really hope he gets better some day.

  • MJ Fox great guy. God bless u.!!

  • Famly ties rocks

  • justine become so ugly...

  • Michael J. Fox is a great guy and hes a Huge Boston Bruins fan, I wish all of hollywood was like Fox, God Bless him and hope he gets better!!

  • Oh yeah! God bless Michael Fox!

  • wow cool

  • They still vahe nice looking !

  • Where is Nick and Skippy?

  • Yes, it definitely IS sad to see Michael J. Fox this way. But it is SO great to see them now, and it was such a great, classic show that that's all I can think about when seeing them here.

  • It's a trip when you see actors that you have watched for so many years starting to really show there age. I noticed how much older Steve Martin looked/seemed in the last movie I saw him in, with Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin. I watched Family Ties, but also used to watch the show "Family" where Merideth played Christy McNichol's older sister. (Mid-Late 70's) Enjoy your teen's, 20's, and 30's because before you know it your not one of the young one's anymore!

  • this is so cute

    every1 looks good except justine....

i love michael j f i feel so bad him though :( great actor his character is the best in the show

  • It was nice to see all of them again. Michael J. Fox is doing pretty well, but I'm very sorry about his health problems. Tina Yothers should go back to being a blonde. They all look good.

  • @thedragonscave I'm a fag for asking a question and not knowing he has parkinsons disease? :/ whatever...

  • @mndeer29 aww, that's too bad. :(

  • Steven Keaton (Michael Gross) had to be the best TV dad ever! He was so believable, especially the episode he first met Nick, Mallory's BF! And he asks Elise "Who are these people at our door looking for our daughter? I HATE them!!!" HILARIOUS!!! Thumbs up to the Keatons! LOVE THEM ALL!

  • Tina Yothers looks sexy now.

  • @randomjunk40 no its because he has Parkinsons Disease, your body tremmers uncontrolably :/

  • @lilisakura1 aww, that's too bad :(

  • @randomjunk40 He has parkensons dieasese which causes him to shake and move around. So he can't help it. He can't get rid of it.

  • @randomjunk40 He has Parkinsons you fag.

  • nice

  • LOVE "Valerie," but she needs an eyebrow wax.

  • Apparently, in the 80s the cast REALLY didn't want to have a reunion show, and hoped that the series would end with the family dying in a plane crash

  • Michael J Fox even being not so well still doesnt look as bad as Justine Bateman. Stupid drug using skank

  • lol. Michael J. Fox is so cool, he got listed twice in the description.

  • Her mom was way better looking!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • moral of the story kids.....throw up and get thrown out!!!!

  • too bad birney turned into a lesbian...with a dozen kids

  • It's too bad that this is a fluff piece - I would have loved for the guy to say; oh yea Tina was a horrible hire lol (Because she was - They should have sent her character to boarding school).

  • @Kickingit06 But Tina kept Michael pepped upon Speed in onbe episode, hilarious!

  • hate how south park made fun of Tina >:(

  • Loved that show :D

  • Tina looks disgusting and this show sucked. Justine's pretty hot though.

  • Thank you for taping and posting this. I hadn't seen it.

  • Local TV in Indonesia still running this very popular sitcom on Thursday.I really Love all the parts of this sitcom, the cast, the theme song it's so perfect.Justine Bateman is so beautiful :) *sorry if my english is so bad

  • I am 18 and Michael j fox is my best friend, I talk to him on facebook he uses a voice communicator, I love this show its a great show, Michael is so awesome and a great role model.

  • @iamtheschoolnerd um... nice lie.

  • @jros83 i am not lying actually i was lied to, come to find out it wasnt Mr. Fox is was a imitator but i barely found that out like a week ago. I am very mad at the guy who lied to me and many other fans

  • @jros83 yeah this guy lied to a bunch of people

  • @xXjustKristinaXx what he did was mean, I was so mad that he imitated such a great guy! Mr. Fox didnt deserve what this guy did to all his fans, I hope this guy isnt stalking Mr. Fox I mean he knew so much about him and what Mr. Fox was doing like a month before it was on TV or the Aire and that is scary. This guy hasmy Novel that was meant for Mr. Fox and that makes me more sad and angry!

  • I was so young when this show was popular, like 6 or 7. I loved this show and used to watch it everyday. All the cast members look so good now. The father looks better now than he did then. I wish there were a cure for Parkinson's so J. Fox could make more movies. I loved him in back to the future and teen wolf.

  • Now people, this was a real unforgettable tv series. I like Dr.House and others but they'll never become the icons this series were and still are.

  • Oh my goodness! There was a reason they didn't have mickey on the reunion show.. What a change....I guess he was too young?! watch?v=y00XkyL-OoI

  • What the heck happened to Brian Bonsall? He was the kid brother who came later. I know he has gotten into a lot of trouble.

  • @RXR4rr Bonsall got shipped back to the Klingon homeworld because he can't get along with full humans.

  • huuuuge fart starts at 1:16

  • I love MJF . This used to be one of my fav's shows . Hope I can see it again , so I can see MJF again . God bless u Michael!! . You as Christopher Reeves are great examples of courage . Thanks x help others even when you are with that illness .

  • Michael J Fox would have continued rock if it wasn't for his illness and he still does rock, he's one of a few actors from the 80's who haven't hit rock bottom or become addicted to some drug.

  • @Kryptonian250: Yep.

    Michael J. Fox rocks,xx

  • i know these actors have to act like they matter so they can get jobs, but 99% of this shows success was MJF (except for Nick, he was great). w/o him this drippy family would have never made it to air.

MJF even stole the show from the creator, who wanted a show which centered around the parents.

In episode 4, the producers noticed the live audience would lean forward whenever MJF was on stage, and practically fell asleep otherwise.

All these people should worship to the idol = MJF.

  • @ronintheusa I agree MJF was the star of the show.

  • @ronintheusa No doubt MJF was the one who carried the show. But I disagree 99% of the success should be credited to Michael alone. First of all, David Gary Goldberg, the creator, was brilliant. And I used to wish I had parents like Elyse and Steven. Meredith and Gross had done a brilliant job. Then there's also the Alex - Mallory relationship. "Go Tigers" remains as my favorite FT episode. Without the great supporting cast, MJF couldn't have shone like he did.

  • There was no 8th season because Fox was getting that movie star paper.

  • un genio michaelll

  • I do know some asian people. I guess it depends more on your lifestyle, such as your diet and how much stress you have. My father is in his 70's and looks like he is 50 and is white. Depends alot also on your genetics.

  • Justine definately aged. Even with all that makeup on, you can see that she has aged during the close ups.

  • I think asians seem to age faster than other races. I think ageing without botox and plastic surgery is the best way to go.

  • @xxtyops

LOL. What are u talking about? Everyone knows that White people ages faster than any other ethnicity. Do you even know any Asian people? I think not.

  • @xxtyops

That 50ish looking Asian woman is probably actually 70 years old. Do you go around asking Asian folks their ID and checking their age? Or you just want to say something negative about Asian people? I think it's tha later. What you said is so propsterous, it's almost funny.

  • I had this biggest crush on Michael when I was a kid. He still is handsome. I'm 27 too! haha

  • I think Justine looks great. Too many people in america and esp hollywood, do botox and plastic surgery which keeps then looking less wrinkled. White people do age faster than other races of people, but the plastic surgery process has helped alot. Just look at those actors who choose to age naturally like Linda Hamilton, Tyne Daly or Charlene Tilton.......that's how real people age, they get age spots, wrinkles some get fatter, some lose muscle mass etc Justine looks fine

  • Sorry to see MJ Fox this way. It's seems like illnesses like this hit the greatest people in life. Then you see A holes and criminals as healthy as an ox. It isn't fair.

  • @viggoM35 You have to look at it from a philosophical stand point. We see people like Michael J. Fox with a disease such as this and see him living his life and continuing on. He seems happy he has his career still. It's an inspiration to other people who have a similar issue in their life to go "well I'm still alive aren't I?"

  • @viggoM35 You are so right...it isnt fair at all. Seeing Mike struggle hurts my heart, i grew up watching Him.

He is strong and a fighter. i miss those thursday nites @ 8:30 -

  • @viggoM35 Soooooooooo True

  • @viggoM35 michael j fox is my fav actor ever!! i hate he is sick like this. i wish he can do more movies

  • @viggoM3 I love Michael Fox, don't allways agree with his personal opinions but he is fantastic..

  • Mallory, Mallory, Mallory!

    »(¯`v´¯)-»

  • I don't know what Meredith Baxter's thoughts were about being hired solely due to the director/producer or whoever he was hiring her because he had a crush on her but I feel it's insulting to be hired solely on that instead of your talent.

  • Dude, why did you point a stupid camera at the tv? You got a VCR or other recording device? Take a recording from that, and capture it into your computer directly. Would look much better than holding a shaky camera in front of a tv.

  • "Family Ties" was one of best shows on in the 80's

The life lessons, the contrast of conservatism with Alex, and the liberalism of his Parents and the way it was just a perfect fit. The writers for this show were incredible especially for that time (Ragean era) It gave us an escape while the President was fucking everything up.

Good Family shows hardly exist anymore, it's super sad dude

  • @atlasshrugged2u

Let me tell you about the President that is "screwing" things up!

Obama owns that one------------no one is even close!!!

Family Ties was a super, great show!!! Never missed it!!

  • I love how they are all there.

  • I really bad for Michael, that must be a horrible illness!!!!

  • i love the NBC diss......its funny and true

  • Thanks for the upload. Do you have 227's reunion on the Today Show?

  • Probably my favorite tv family of the 80's

  • Where's the youngest brother?

  • @Eseercam i think he's in jail, i'm not sure, but i know that he was arrested for possession of illegal substances..

  • Greatest TV Family Ever!
