Couple of issues with this phone, I sold mine after a few months cause, it has a substandard keyboard, Has a track-ball, A lose back plate, No 3G and the GPS needs a data plan to work. Other than that it's a great looking device and feels good in your hand, the screen rez is also very good.

If i were u i would get the blackberry curve because its track pad is easy anfaster than it soriginaly version. And if u get the trackball it WILL get dirty or smudged and when its like that it will start losing some pieces. and sometimes it wont even work it will refuse to move at times because it might get stuck. so i recomend the curve :D

@Migy347 well, if at all there's a problem with it...its that if your fingers arent surgically cleaned regularly (lol), the trackball's gna stop functioning properly. get the new 8520, 8530 or the Bold 9700. they have a trackpad. mate of mine's got it. works really well.

I've had this phone for a year and I must say this is one of the best phones I've have ever used and I have used a couple of Androids, and Windows phones. The phone is VERY light weight sometimes I think it's lost even though I have it in my pocket, the camera is amazing, it's very easy to use and just a great phone all around. I highly recommend this phone if you don't care for 3G and just want a simple, sex phone.

@KingAaron789 if your battery is running out really fast it might be because your not closing out your apps once your done with them. hold down the blackberry key and it will show all your open apps. you need to close those out cuz theyre draining your battery

umm well the 8900 & 9700 are both good phones for taking pictures,texting, wifi, media, etc.. but if you're going to need faster internet conn. on the go such as 3G then i'll suggest the 9700

well i was asking the same question for weeks until i went to the store and compared both phones side by side and i was sold on getting the 9700 but then when i started to use the both of them i was like the 8900 they are both basically the same size but the 8900 to me is just better except for the no 3g and that the trackball will probably mess up but i think im sticking with the 8900 hope i helped
