Which other directors would end a movie like this: "We've got a truck on fire, can't find the switch to turn the ski lift off, and can't stop the dancing chicken. Send an electrician."
Herzog belongs in a list of people who does weird yet entertaining and engaging movies like ALEJANDRO JODOWSKI, NICHOLAS ROEG, JEAN CLAUDE LAUZON or even FELLINI
Beautiful, depressing. Did you know this was the film Ian Curtis (Joy Division) watched before he committed suicide? I can't say this movie in itself could drive anybody to suicide, but still it fits the whole story. One lost life, then another.
Such an excellent movie. It’s fitting that one of the best movies ever made about rural America was helmed by a German director. I don’t think anyone other than Herzog could find such beauty - and despair - in something so unassuming.
Thanks so much for uploading this, Herzog is an absolute treasure to the world of cinema!

I guess it comes to show from his perspective that moving to America was a bad idea.
