It helps a lot if you use an enhanced excaliber whilst using this setup. The defence boost makes a bit of a difference as to what they hit. And the spec heals 20 hp as well, so it's a bit like getting a shark for free every 5 mins.

correct, buy for waterfeinds i'd use void if any melee armour atall because of that slight mage bonus. but i wouldnt use either tbh i'd use karils lool.

actually it does make sense - because of bandos armour it is quite resistant to range. But again coz it's MELEE armour it's weak against range attacks so thats why he need mage pray

so BCA wins in crush bonus by 32 more and str by 18 more but its also 2 prayer lower and a small bit slower
