no wonder this plug fouled in my yz in like 2 minutes.costed me a fortune if you consider the cost of a regular plug and fouled out in a few minutes, great plug ngk...
@ryanjofre I agree with you, NGK-R will last 30 to 40000 miles, E3 sparc plugs will only last 10-15 thousand miles...Denson will outlast any plugs on the market. People don't spend your hard earning money on deceptive commercials..
Ohhh, so that's why when we change the stock spark plugs of our motorized bicycles and put a NGK the engine sounds much more stable, with linear RPMs and cleaner sound. Thanks for the video, I would have not imagined that this is what made the difference.
Most applications are just fine with the v-power plug. The extra price + benefits is not feasible. Don't believe the marketing hype about iridium plugs unless you just have money to piss away.
Spark Plugs never have and never will GIVE YOU POWER. If one gained any power it was power that was Lost because the previously plugs weren't gapped propely, the Wires where damaged or the plugs where shot! Also Various parts of the Ignition system could be damaged.
@cobhcdr Yes....you're calling me a 'fag' because I asked a science question. Must be sad thinking that anyone with half a brain is a homosexual. I imagine you live in a trailer park and think professional Wrestling is a real sport, am I correct?
Well good luck with your pathetic, homophobic and stupid life my friend....and I mean that. You'll need luck to get through it.
@cobhcdr Got ya...no worries...I hate spelling Nazi's myself. In this case I was correcting my own spelling....So I was being my own Nazi. (wow that just sounds wrong! LOL)
My Scion XB 05 I noticed engine was shaking. Looked at owners manual spark plugs every 60k. These bad boys were shot!! 75k. I figured they where irdium like other yotas i owned. Never seen a plug with electrod that far off really first time ive owned car that ran different with new plugs installed. Yeah I bought the car new. Bosch silber plugs da best thats german for silver silber.
my bandit 1200 runs better on normal plugs. tried it couple of times with new set of plugs each time. also in the video it is evident, that the spark on the ordinary type plug, is better concentrated therefore more effective. I don't care if iridium can last 5 times longer!
@Acibeb Check better, the normal one is the LEFT one, the Iridium one is on the right. Maybe the timing or something else has to be changed on your motor in order to get the new plugs to work properly? I am no expert of motors
When you say "original type plug, is better concentrated" do you actually mean the Iridium one which is shown on the right with the spark concentrated at one point.
These are bull$hit don't waste your money. I had blow out under 20+ psi boost in my DSM. I tried these, made it much worst. Got 4 NGK 7es gaped to 28.. Runs perfect now!
I have a Dodge Charger R/T 2007 with 60K miles on it. Shall i get those iridium plug for my car ? What is the benefit ? how much do they cost ? how many would i need ? Thank you all
apparently some cars require this type of plug. i put standard resistor plugs in my 03 ford ranger with the 4.0 v6, and now it bucks at cruising speed, but it ran fine with the old iridium plugs i pulled out. i just went back to the store to buy new iridium plugs, hoping that stops the misfire, or whatever.
i have iridium spark plugs but made by an small company i cant remember the name.woul they make a bigger spark then the normal one or the iridium logo on them is just for advertising???
You guys are talking about a 1000hp engine where are going to find a daily driver with a 1000 horse power? Unless you have a drag car 1000 horepower is unrealistic.
Not true, the bigger the spark the better the burn the more power you make. If you put cheap plugs in a high performance car you get cheap performance. Plugs alone can get you 30 to 50 extra HP, or more, in boosted applications where spark is an issue. In boosted applications spark is king and blow out is the enemy.
you got to be on drugs,,30 to 50 EXTRA HP???WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STUPID IN BOOSTED OR HIGH COMPRESSION ENGINE YOU GAP THE PLUG SMALLER TO PREVENT THAT,,,IN MY COUNTRY THEY CALL PEOPLE LIKE YOU "LOLO"
You gap the plug smaller if you arent running the right ignition setup to avoid spark blow out. Crazy? Nope...but I'm dead right. Do some homework bud...and when you come to my country it's called EDUCATION...GET SOME
50HP extra is exactly true and in forced induction cars is very common. Now you need to be running 1,000HP to see the 50HP gains I'm talking about from a simple spark plug change. If you changed to Brisk silver spark plugs from stock factory plugs while running a forced induction engine you'd without question pick up at least 50HP. How do I know? Because I do it all the time...spark is everything and without it you go nowhere fast...and by the way spark is a common issue
ok ok,,,talking about 1000 hp 50 is about rite,,but not in a daily driver,,tops 5 hp only,,even an oil change in a 1000 hp car can get you about 30 hp or more, but it has to be a high hp engine,,otherwise the gain wont be much..
In a boosted application, bigger spark can be the enemy, leading to pre-detonation... for boosted apps, you want the coolest plug you can run without fouling them out and the largest gap without spark blow out.
Just ordered a set to plug into my 1969 Lancia Fulvia. Already using regular NGK's and stuck to the same heat-range. My Fulvia-guy (or might I say guru) uses them too, that's enough reason for me to jump in. I'll report in a week or so...!
I can honestly say they improved my MPG. I've got an old 94 so maybe a newer vehicle won't see as much of a difference. Well worth the price for me though.
the funny thing was i just bought the car and i said ah wtf ill spend the extra money and get them so i buy the irdium and take out my old ones and there irdium ngks so me being me i put the new ones in the old ones in the new box and returend the old plugs and got new ones for free!

The real problems with these plugs are that they burn out very fast. Replacement needed every 10,000 miles. Not cost effective.

You don't need expensive Plugs for Boost Applications, Rock those Colder/Copper cored NGK-R'S!!!

@robby844 Interesting theory. That movie 'Urban Cowboy' had a mechanical bull that was hard to stay on. There should be a movie: 'Urban Sparkplug'.
But in this case it would be hooked to a hydro transformer.

An power line is not a small wire! Look at NGK BRK6EK Stock Number 2288
Big center electrode, fills up the cylinder better.
If your car can take NGK BKR6E-11 type plugs the BRK6EK will fit!
