what belief? atheist doesnt mean that i dont believe in your god but i believe to something/someone else. it means that i believe to no god. i didnt ever make such comments but i believe that they are trolling. its kinda funny to me that if someone says something about the pope's death, many people that are going to watch this comment and feel bad about it. they dont really mean "I HOPE HE DIES". they dont even know him. @AthosAmo How sad & misguided you are-try going to your local library & finding the 2000 yr old church. Just think-Protestors[Protestants] have splintered,fragmented into 33000+ denominations-Why? Yet Jesus cared more about his spiritual family than his physical family. The spirit has priority over the flesh. I'm not in any way 'religious' but why do Atheists,in particular,feel the need to make disparaging/disrespectful comments on the death of someone who meant so much to so many people?! What purpose does it serve,if any?!

Well you may have a point.And,I guess,if they have zero affiliation with any religion then they probably don't feel the need to have any respect for any religious leader.But,the way I see it,even if this were true then they could at least just not comment at all on what was clearly a very sad occasion for many people.

@popazz1 Since they have no belief in God, the only object that athiests can turn to is humanity, or themselves. They cannot fathom anything greater than themselves and they will defend that belief with a religeous zeal, even turning abusive, as is seen here and because of that, atheism should be considered a religion. The mere mention of God or the Pope is a threat to them and they then become what they accuse the Church of doing, and that is trying to shove a relgion down someone's throat.

Whilst I don't subscribe to any relgious belief system,& have had more than my fair share of 'debate' with those who do have a religious base I try to be respectful of those who's opinions differ from mine on this issue.Yes,I agree with your definition of what Atheists appear to be creating which is a 'religion' of their own,or at least a 'religious zeal' in how they attack others.
