Thanks for doing this video! I was fine doing this myself the other day until I got down to the thigh but you made it look so easy. Definitely going to try out your method. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video, it's the first out of about 20 that I've looked at today that actually shows how to break down the chicken leaving the bone in the breast. Thank you thank you!
I'm breaking down my first chicken for dinner tonight.
I like this method much more than what other people have been telling me to do, especially the bits about removing the back and keel bone, as opposed to carving the breast -around- those bones. It seems more efficient, leaving that much more meat on your plate rather than attached to something you ultimately won't be eating.
I think my laptop will be on the counter next to my cutting board tonight, just so I get it right, haha.
Hey Jay, thanks. I always buy whole chickens because they are cheaper... but I cook them whole, either roasting them or boiling for soup. I wanted to make fried chicken and waffles... I had a whole chicken already thawed and didn't see the need to spend all that extra money for the pre cut parts. Your video was informative, and I'm about to go cut a chicken up BEFORE cooking it for the first time. Thanks for the video, and I'll let you know how I made out.
@keyster76 Just a quick update on what the term invaluable means. •having incalculable monetary, intellectual, or spiritual worth , •Of great value; costly, precious, priceless; Very useful. Have a great day.
Wow, after watching this I thought there was no way I'd be able to do what you did. I was wrong! Your video helped me quarter the chicken like a pro. Thanks!

what would a chef pay for quality capon? would he want to slaughter it himself or have it dressed?
