  • nice music!!

  • Beautiful, simply beautiful. I want to live in the Middle Ages, again. :)))

  • very good! i like the pictures and the music!

  • ? What an odd choice of images to put with Stella Splendens...the old walking carol...

  • Sounds like music from Final Fantasy 9!

  • The Greek helmet stood out from the medieval context a bit - as did at least one of the castles as far as I could tell... But overall the video was nice and I liked the music.

  • excelent!!!!

  • It is a Catalan medieval song. Lyrics: "Star shining on the mountain, as a ray of sunshine serrated [Montserrat]. Miraculously, Listen to your people [Catalan people]. From all sides come together. Your joyous pilgrims, rich and poor, large and small. In this same place come, to light their eyes And here again full of grace."

  • That was entertaining. Loved the music & video.

However, the 7-course renaissance lute in the video next to the medieval 5-course lute was an anachronism, if it wasn't there for comparison. It's almost as anachronistic as Bing Crosby's early 1900s lutar being made in the 13th century, as claimed in Pennies From Heaven.

  • Hello StrixNoctis. Somewhere back in the Dark Ages, there was a guy dreaming of that 7-course Lute. LOL & 8-)

  • me encanta...

    i love it....

  • Thank-you, divinavalero. 8-)

  • good music

  • Hello GUSTAVnordmenn. I like the Mediæval Music alot, especially the festive tunes. 8-)

  • Wow, someone who actually uses the correct 'æ' in the word Mediæval. I hope the user also knows that 'jail' is not spelt like that, as that's American, the British spell it as 'gaol'. Cheers, great vid.

  • Oh aye, I like a good diphthong too! So 'gaol' then? Does that derive from one of those obscure languages like Cornish or Manx or something?

  • I think you should include a reference to the origin of the background music. It is "Stella Splendens" from the "Llibre Vermell" of Benedictine Monastery of Montserrat in Catalonia near Barcelona. It is religious piece from "Ars Nova" and was composed anonymously (of course) in the XIVth century.

  • Fantastic ! I'm sure I was born centuries too late. I'd have loved the music, atmosphere, wenches and taking a dump in a hole- in- the floor toilet. Thanks a bunch for posting.

  • what about terrible teeth, diseases, plauge, tyrant taxes and brutal torture?

  • Thoroughly enjoyable - despite the 'out of time' helmet - Thankyou!

  • mmm a recreation of a recreation? It is a bit strange LOL^^ by the way it could be possible, but it still remains pre-roman. I'm from south Italy, and that helmet is part of my culture, and when I look at it, it make me think of a very ancient atmosphere (like 600 century bc and before), but not medieval, so it don't fit the video very well to me(it has an all medieval flavor, except for this helmet :D ) it's my favourite pre-medieval helmet (I'm even considering buying a replica of it! :) ).

  • Hi Quetzal84. Yes, with all the truly Mediæval helmet designs, it's unfortunate that I picked that helmet to use, Thanks for your input on this! 8-)

  • You're welcome ;)

  • Beautiful video, but the second helmet is an italo-corinthian one, wich is pre-medieval and even pre-roman! :D

  • Thanks Quetzal84! I think that helmet you mentioned was designed to look like the era you spoke of. I made this video 10 months ago, but I think the source of the picture said it was a recreation of an earlier era's hemet made during the Middle Ages. I may be mistaken? I'm glad you liked the video though! 8-)

  • This composition proves that time travel exists. Thanks for taking me back the sounds and sights excite my mind. While I appreciate the architecture... that's a scary chair! I guess there is both good and bad in any time & place.

  • Hi Deb! Yeah, I think there was a lot of "scary" stuff back in the Middle Ages. We can be glad things are a pinch better these days, but we have a long way to go.

  • Great video, and 'Medieval' spelt correctly, unlike as I do!

  • Thanks mikesey1... I like using the "æ" in words. LOL & 8-)

  • Seriously COOL.

  • Thanks Jinxkatrina8! I love that old stuff! 8-)

  • Man diesel, This was very cool, I love history. Too bad we don't know more about the dark ages, but I think that pic with the spikes in the chair are pretty telling!

  • Thanks, dh. I love reading accounts from history... not modern portrayals, but real writings from the people who were there! Check out this book: "Eyewitness To History" Real accounts, real people! I also have the "Logbook of Christopher Columbus," "Letters of Mozart," writings from Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, Grant, Frederick Douglass, and lots of other cool stuff! History is awesome! 8-)

  • No doubt history is awesome. I learn alot from Rhonda on history. It is her favorite hobby! The log book from Christopher Columbus sounds really cool, to me I always like to hear the "real" story from the horses mouth!

  • Hey Diesel, that brings to mind a very weird book I found in a library over 20 years ago that I never forgot. Renaissance reading. It had original writings from that period. A doctor was talking about the medicinal benefits of tobacco -how good it was for you. Imagine that said today?

  • Obviously, some advaned knowledge has been lost since that age... they used to pack ashes into wounds, too

  • That was very interesting. Great pics and music.

  • Thanks Rhonda. The tune is a real Mediæval piece that I arranged. I think castles are cool, so I thought it would be fun to put the two together in a video.

  • It is ear tingling. I'm not kidding. My ears were tingling in my headphones. I always was fascinated by the medieval period too.
