Best D2 player ever? Not even close. Danny Woodhead numbers crush his and Xavier has the record for the most carries for a running back. Also Danny Woodhead is having a great season with the New England Patriots which not much can be said about his NFL career. It is true that NWM beat CSC twice, and NWM was the better team but in the end Danny is the better player.
i agree with u gobills and i was at the prseason games vs the lions 2 i was pised when wright fumbled it im just glad omon didnt ge cut and that glad the didnt keep dwayne wright or bruce hall
He's good in this video, but you should have sen him in High School. Im from Beatrice (where he played hs fb) and man was he a power, shaker, outside guy. He wasn't the fastest guy, but the best for sure.
Im rooting for Omon to make the team hes a nice downhill back but it doesnt look good. Dwayne Wright most likely will get the #3 job and Omon we will carry on the practice squad.
yea im happy i liked omon better than wright also but everyone kept saying that wright would make it. after i went to that pre-season game against detroit and wright fumbled AGAIN i knew it was over for him. now we just gotta find some carrys for him in the regular season.
Doesn't matter what they drafted him for now that Marshawn is the driver of the get-away killa vehicle according to witnesses! Omon will be either the starter/dual-back/or backup to Freddy Jackson IF Marshawn starts talkin to his lawyer/cops and heads for a conviction!!! Not too far of a stretch considering new info! Watch out on Fantasy Football Draft day!
if thats really only his senior year, i dont care that it wasn't d 1 talent, the kid has an eye for the end zone. i just read the espn article, it sounds like he doesn't want to play special teams but if he wants to make the roster he has to be able to do something else. He looked good on the screen, maybe he could get some 3rd down carries, maybe return punts, he'll have to show he can do one thing really well and he'll have a chance to play. interesting story nonetheless
well buffalo allready has 2 amazing rb's. and they have mcgee and parrish and mckelvin as returners, but oman could make the kickoff team as a #2 right to relpace keven evrates spot, and im not sayin if he makes the team he wont get carries because he will, but like you said he has to show more than one demention.
Bills fans I promise you this. You will LOVE this man. Marshawn will finally get a talented back to help relieve him for snaps. PS: You heard it here first he WILL be a starting back in the NFL sooner than you think.
hes already got an amazing backup in fred jackson, almost as good as marshawn but in a different type of running.. marshawn will be 10x better than him in the next few years though cant wait
The Bills already have a talented back to relieve Marshawn...Freddy Jackson. But I'm still hoping Omon can make the team and push Lynch and Jackson and make them that much better.
Ya i understand where you going with this but i'll have to agree xavier has a chance to become a great back and my opinion one will do better than another depending on what offense there respective teams run. Omon is will buffalo who has Marshawn Lynch and they will most likely run down field and between the tackles. Woodhead wouldn't fit in that type of offense but more of one like denver or phili. I know touching the ball 40 times doesn't mean anything. I met X at the Chadron game
Um ya ok i was born and grew up in denver and i have met terrell and met xavier at one of their play off games and terrell is bigger your just trying to talk your boy up and Woodhead is still better hands down. look at 40, verticals, and his all time rushing record, all purpose yards, touchdowns.
Apparently Woodhead is your boy and though he runs a faster 40 he is not the better player. If we wanna look at things with his stats let's look at total touches. That is like saying Troy Davis from ISU was the greatest ever. He touched ball 40 times a game. Lots of touches doesn't make you more productive. X will be the better BACK guaranteed. Not the better return man like Woodhead may become. PS: Terrell isn't bigger. I've met them both without pads and what game did you meet X at?
How does any one know what a player is going to do in the NFL? From coming into school with him 5 years ago all he has done is improve and get better day in and day out. He is going to give some stability to the RB position for Buffalo because lets be honest if marshawn lynch gets hurt you have nothing as a back up. Xavier is durable and isn't injury prone like other backs. He only missed 4 games in 4 years.
Jordan, I goto to Missouri western and have watched him play several games against us.I agree with you. I think Omon will actually surprize ALOT of people in the NFL. Everyone talks shit because it was a D2 school but he dominated everyone. He has excellent vision for a back and great speed and quickness. I don't know if he'll ever be an adrian peterson but I'd be surprized if he's not starting in the NFL a few years from now. From interviews he seems like a real genuine good guy.
yeah hes good. but only against scrubs. he'll be a good back up, but no one will ever take marshawn lynch's spot. this guy will be a very good back up though if lynchs ankle is bothering him again.
You are a moron. You know what is wrong with Bills fans-look in a mirror. This guy may back up Lynch for now, but mark my words. When Lyn ch gets hurt this guy is the answer, not Jackson. X can pound the ball in cold snowy weather. Jackson is quicker, but not a horse. X reminds me of another 6th round pick by the name of Terrell Davis- heard of him?
yea this makes him look good, BUT this is against shitty college players.. he wouldnt be good against elite college players... and definately not against elite nfl players... not saying hes the shittiest player ever but not a steal of the draft.. BILLS IN DA '08PLAYOFFS!!!
omg we wasted a 6th round pick!!! jesus you faggots are ridiculous. just give him some time to at least get to camp. hes not fucking dwayne wright who is hella worse than this guy.
Northwest Missouri State also held its workout last week, and running back Xavier Omon had a good day. (Tight end Mike Peterson didn't work out and is scheduled to do so on the 20th.) At 230 pounds, Omon was a little heavier than many think is ideal -- we believe he is best suited to be 215-220 pounds -- but he still ran pretty well for a big back, clocking in at 4.60 and 4.62. He was quick, smooth and fluid throughout his workout, and he caught the ball surprisingly well.
At 228 pounds, he didn't show the top-end speed (4.62) some others did, but few in the class can match his production. He rushed for at least 1,500 yards in all four of his collegiate seasons, finishing with 2,337 yards in '07 and 37 rushing touchdowns. Also caught 29 passes this past year
That became apparent when X became the first back to rush for over 1500 yards 4 straight years. Maybe it was when he led his team to 3 straight championship games. The fact that X actually was invited to the combine. Danny could become a return man with his size and speed, but X will be a runningback in the league.
Nothing but chills, especially when you know what the young man overcame to get to this point! Xavy, great college career and can't wait to see you at the next level!
The Buffalo Bills had him the only problem he had was that he was to slow. he was a power back he just never got a chance.

hopefully, we can get a nice pickup in a trade for him
