i usually dont like electronics but the rolands are pretty nice and my parents keep yelling at me for keeping them up at night. been drumming for 9 years now and cant stop
It is awesome...especially in the studio. I have gigged with it as well. Be prepared to buy the expansion for an additional $500 though. The sounds are updated in the expansion. BzB :-)
I've watched this like 4 times in the past two days. You're a ridiculously skilled drummer and I wish I could find someone as talented as you to jam with.
im just starting to drum and my dad says i have great music talent for instuments. i played total of 9 different instruments including keyboard, guitar, flute, and others until i mastered them. but it just doesnt catch my intrest. i always like making beats with my hand or pencils in class and at my house. so i decided to give the drums a try. i want to get the (DD502 electronic drumkit) as a beginner set. could you maybe check it out and tell me if it's any good for a beginner?
As much as I love electronic drums, I would not recommend them for a beginner. Go acoustic first and get down your technique before switching...buy a cheap used kit and get lessons. Honestly, that is the way to go. BzB ;-)
Hey, MikeMoney, if you're considering the TD-20, GO AND GET IT....This thing is ungodly cool. Yeah, it's expensive, but worth every penny, you won't be sorry.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow

Yes...these sounds are all part of the basic stock kit and sounds. That stack is part of kit number 38 "FXJungle." I have not even begun to start stacking my own sounds. I never seem to have the time to get to that stuff. BzB :-)
these kits are so fun i go to gutair center every once in a while i sit down and play one of these the whole time i get stared at but oh well there so fun
Yes...every once in a while I will sit down on a kit at my local music store and jam a bit. A couple of times I have actually had people recognize me from my vids while I was playing...cool. Well anyhow...thanks for the comment. BzB :-)
Yes I did...This is a recording of my doing just that..making up beats. I call them workouts and I do them usually in the early evening for about an hour a day when I have the kit set up in the house. I just sit there and make up beats and keep trying till I find stuff that I like and then work on those until I get them really sharp. BzB :-)
Nice creative triggering of the sample - it has created a very smooth sounding groove - the break makes for a great counterpoint. I use an older TD6V, not nearly as versatile and a peral kit for live performance!
I will eventually put out a vid on creative fills but in the mean time just listen to every type of music you can and workout with it...play along and see what you feel...then do like I do in the vid and jam those rhythms over and over till you feel it solid. BzB :-)
ive been drummin for like a year and a half, And my set is a 300$ pdp , Should i get a new 1, I have gotten new cymbals, (Paiste series 3 20" ride and 12" splash wuhan, (the set came with a crash i belive (18")
Well..ya gotta ask yourself...what would I need a new set for? Are you playing gigs or are you close to playing some? Do you have a band? Are you unhappy with your current kit? Have you tried re-tuning or fixing up your current kit? There is a lot you can do with an old or cheap kit. BzB :-)

It is hard to make jokes like that on YouTube comments because it is just typed words. It is so hard to see where someone is coming from...you just have to take things the way they are read. Your comment seemed pretty mean spirited. But thanks for clearing it up. You have my respect now. BzB :-)
Great come back to an old standard...You are pretty good at this...now try some social skills and try to make friends before enemies. Dont just come onto my page for the first time and start with "is this supost to be a joke." You did not even spell suppose correctly. C'mon man...chill...life is not about all this negative energy. please help me. i'm getting an electric drum kit but have to put it in my bedroom so i was wandering if your kit makes much noise if you where to play if it wasn't turned on? i'm planning on using headphones and want to keep noise to a minimum.
That depends on what type of electronics you are buying. The rubber pads or the ones that use regular heads are much more noisy than mesh heads...they are all more quiet than acoustic drums but it just depends on how quiet you actually need to be. BzB :-)
Hey man.. thanks for the video. I was thinking about getting that same drum kit u have. How much did it cost you and can I sync it with my Akai MPC and assign each individual drum sound on seperate tracks on a software editor/sequencer like PROTOOLS? Hit me back in a message man. Thanks for the inspiration and hot drumming too!!!
You are welcome nahounou and thank you for stopping in to comment. I am not particularly familiar with the hardware/software you are speaking of except for Protools...Protools is the program that they record me with at Digital Music Services here in Tampa. The TD-20 is fully MIDI and can be connected to any other instrument that is MIDI. I would need more info to guide you otherwise. BzB :-)
Hegnirst...I have never owned Garage Band...but if it takes sound from your line in source on your computer then it will work...Just plug the kit in via a 1/4 to a 1/8 inch jack and plug it right into your computer...that is what I do with EZ Hi-Q Recorder Software now...but I recorded this vid right out of the speakers with the vid camera mic. BzB :-)
Thats funny Leheno...Yes...I have had pleanty of those kind of days too...when I was first starting up I was not that good and sometimes my mom would shut me down pretty quick. She tried to endure it as much as possible though...BzB :-)
Yeah, I can tell she is trying to endure, but yeah.
Thats one reason I want an electronic drum set, its not as loud. I could probably play as much as I want if I had one. I currently have a barely muffled Verve.
Well that is the way you sell the idea to your mom for the electric kit then...just go tell her how much peace she would have in the house if you could just have one...then you could play it with headphones and she would never ever have to hear it unless she wanted to. (LOL) BzB :-)
Hey Imsocool...Thanks for the complement...I love my kit...the TD20 is the drum kit that every drummer that plays electronic drums has waited for. It is everything I ever wanted in an electronic kit period. Thanks again for checking out my vid and taking time to comment. BzB :-)
Hey tbbb...I will keep the double pedal vid in mind for later...I already have several other vids in line to do...but I will get to that one eventually. BzB :-)
Now I get it...You are crying because there are so many vids to check out...Hahaha...that is funny...Well I hope you have lots of time and you enjoy them...you might want to take them in small bites...one or two at a time. BzB :-)
Yea qiniqat...a lot of people comment or e-mail me about this vid and that blows me away...When I first made it I did not think much of it myself until someone told me to go back and watch it again. It blows my mind sometimes what I do and then I watch it myself and I think "is that me" So thanks for the comment. BzB :-)
I am glad that I have expanded your world of drumming. Electronics can really change how you look at drumming and how you play. It is really great to play with such finesse and yet get such a huge sound. Nice to have you on board. Stick around and check out some more of my vids. BzB :-)
great grooving. not sure about the song you play with tho. gets repetative. is it a preset sound? or can you compose what you trigger? great drumming.
Yes that was a preset but you can change them to whatever you want and you can even start from scratch and make totally new stuff. Whatever you can dream up. But I just sit and play one thing kinda over and over while I am developing beats...this is just a vid that shows me developing and creating the Bazy Way. BzB :-)
Ablibnote, Yes...I agree...it is a bit repetative...but this is just how I sit down and work out new beats. I play them over and over and over, sometimes for days. It is just the process. Thanks for the comments and for stopping by to check out the vids. BzB :-)
I am glad you liked it bro. Check out the rest of the vids if you have not already done so. Lots more to see and I will have more vids coming this next week. BzB
Thanks again for the great comments...Check with the guy on YouTube that goes by the name "TheOnlineDrummer" I saw his basic instruction vids and thought he was great. Peace Brother :-) BzB
Niiiiice! Can you put triggers on an accoustic set that would work the same way as your rolands do? I like how the song progresses as you hit that one electronic cymbal... thanks man.
Sorry that my first response does not look like it went through. I try to answer all mail and comments the same day. As for the triggers...I do use triggers on my acustic as well...but the response is not the same. These are much more sensitive and respond to ever little buzz roll and ghost note that I play. Acustic triggers are just not going to give you that. BzB
Try Music123 online or Zzounds. If you dont like shopping online then try out Sam Ash Music Stores or Guitar Center. These are the places where I do all my shopping depending on what I am getting. BzB
On the electronic kit I use the DW 7000 slave pedal. On my acustic kit I use the Iron Cobra by Tama. I like the light feel of the DW 7000 on the electric when I am using my felt beaters because it is so much faster. The heavier mallets that I use on the acustic need a meatier pedal to drive them. BzB
freakng amazing!!

Hey man.. thanks for the video.

BzB :-)

can i plug this kit into my garage band software on my macintosh G5 to record do u know?
hegnirst 4 years ago
Hegnirst...I have never owned Garage Band...but if it takes sound from your line in source on your computer then it will work...Just plug the kit in via a 1/4 to a 1/8 inch jack and plug it right into your computer...that is what I do with EZ Hi-Q Recorder Software now...but I recorded this vid right out of the speakers with the vid camera mic. Hmm, I would probably drum like 2 hours and a half or just 2 hours a day, but once I get to an hour and 15 minutes my mom stops me...
(im 13)
Leheno 4 years ago
Thats funny Leheno...Yes...I have had pleanty of those kind of days too...when I was first starting up I was not that good and sometimes my mom would shut me down pretty quick. She tried to endure it as much as possible though...BzB :-)
bazybeats 4 years ago
Yeah, I can tell she is trying to endure, but yeah.
Thats one reason I want an electronic drum set, its not as loud. I could probably play as much as I want if I had one. I currently have a barely muffled Verve.
Leheno 4 years ago
Well that is the way you sell the idea to your mom for the electric kit then...just go tell her how much peace she would have in the house if you could just have one...then you could play it with headphones and she would never ever have to hear it unless she wanted to. (LOL) BzB :-)
bazybeats 4 years ago
I tried, spose I will try a more persuasive approach
Thank you (you don't need wast time repling to this comment)

Imsocool1004 4 years ago
Hey Imsocool...Thanks for the complement...I love my kit...the TD20 is the drum kit that every drummer that plays electronic drums has waited for. It is everything I ever wanted in an electronic kit period. Thanks again for checking out my vid and taking time to comment. BzB :-)

It blows my mind sometimes what I do and then I watch it myself and I think "is that me" So thanks for the comment. BzB :-)

I never heard an electric drumkit before... It sounds awesome and you are awesome! =)
aeriodude 4 years ago
I am glad that I have expanded your world of drumming. Electronics can really change how you look at drumming and how you play. It is really great to play with such finesse and yet get such a huge sound. Nice to have you on board. Stick around and check out some more of my vids. BzB :-)
bazybeats 4 years ago
great grooving. not sure about the song you play with tho. gets repetative. is it a preset sound? or can you compose what you trigger? great drumming.
Adlibnote 4 years ago
Yes that was a preset but you can change them to whatever you want and you can even start from scratch and make totally new stuff. Whatever you can dream up. But I just sit and play one thing kinda over and over while I am developing beats...this is just a vid that shows me developing and creating the Bazy Way. BzB :-)
bazybeats 4 years ago
Ablibnote, Yes...I agree...it is a bit repetative...but this is just how I sit down and work out new beats. I play them over and over and over, sometimes for days. It is just the process. Thanks for the comments and for stopping by to check out the vids. BzB :-)

bazybeats 4 years ago
Niiiiice! Can you put triggers on an accoustic set that would work the same way as your rolands do? I like how the song progresses as you hit that one electronic cymbal... thanks man.
MikeMoneyMiami 5 years ago
Sorry that my first response does not look like it went through. I try to answer all mail and comments the same day. As for the triggers...I do use triggers on my acustic as well...but the response is not the same. These are much more sensitive and respond to ever little buzz roll and ghost note that I play. Acustic triggers are just not going to give you that. BzB
bazybeats 4 years ago
Where can I pickup some triggers and a "brain" for an acoustic set? Any recommendations? Probably need some speakers too, and a PA. Damnit.
MikeMoneyMiami 4 years ago
Try Music123 online or Zzounds. If you dont like shopping online then try out Sam Ash Music Stores or Guitar Center. These are the places where I do all my shopping depending on what I am getting. BzB
bazybeats 4 years ago
what kind of double pedal do you use? yamaha?
bomberbadj 5 years ago
On the electronic kit I use the DW 7000 slave pedal. On my acustic kit I use the Iron Cobra by Tama. I like the light feel of the DW 7000 on the electric when I am using my felt beaters because it is so much faster. The heavier mallets that I use on the acustic need a meatier pedal to drive them. BzB

beautiful technique, truely inspiring... plus i really want one of theese kits too =] god bless.
