i was so scared cuz i have never been in a tornado situation b4. i was in skool 2 and my parents where at work where they pretty much have no where 2 go if a tornado happened. like they dont hav a basement or anything 2 go 2. it was an interesting day tho
Ah, this was such an anxious afternoon/evening. This was just a week or two after I had returned home from college and it was just a surreal day from the get-go. I recall it being like 35-40 degrees and misty outside throughout the morning and thinking nothing of it...until I heard reports of a huge tornado in Windsor. Crazy times.
Dude your sirens sound different than ours in Gillette, lol. We have no radar to tell us where a tornado is, so all we rely on is highway patrolmen... *cries* I'm gonna die!
Hey I was here that day (Thursday) too!!! The next day (Friday) we also had another tornado warning after the first two the first day. I have lived here for 37 years, and I saw the July 16, 1979 one too. This looks like it was filmed near Orchard Valley.
They force us to go into a deathtrap of a basement with toxic air here at these apartments every time there is a siren, including the flood warnings. The flood warnings should have a different sound.
This was a crazy day - I work at the TV station and this storm blew up so fast - one second the scanners were quiet, the next they were alive with reports of tornadoes in the city, the sirens went off and we were scrambling to do a cut-in. Cheyenne got lucky but albany county got nailed.
Whereabouts in Cheyenne are you at? Here off of Yellowstone Rd. it rained a bunch but we didn't see any tornados. They locked us down for a while at Central too.
We are out on South Greeley Hwy. Heard the sirens go off and ran outside and just caught the end of it. Funny part is that we WERE going to go get McD's, but decided against it. We would've been right next to it then... that would've been awesome footage!
Hell yeah! I'd rather be outside watching it than cowering unneccesarily in the closet! :) If I know where it is, I feel safer. When I get more money and some more free time, we are gonna go chase a couple... it's gonna be a good summer for them.
Nice! I live in Rock Springs, WY, but i'm a juvenile currently court ordered to live up at the Attention Homes on West Fox Farm Rd. in Cheyenne. The staff locked us down in the basement yesterday as soon as the sirens began to go off so I never got to see it. Good job getting this shit up here. If only there was more to see :[
awesome! I was alerted about the tornado warning, unfortunetly was working so i couldnt do any chasin, we had one breifly touch down here in gillette wyoming also!
