haha you have to remember, Torley's business IS graphics; i'm sure his graphics card and computer RAM and virtual memory is ridiculously high

I think alot of the times and torley can correct me if I am wrong, but I think they either connect as local or they have a super backdown directly into the building.

Keep in mind these are photoshop enhanced screenshots and not actual video, which even with Windlight wouldnt look as good as these. That and Torley uses a Mac AND has (as mentioned below) ridiculously high specs.

I see all these awesome places and stuff in your vids but whenever I've tried SL I'm on some boring island controlling some douche-looking boring character just running all over the place with nothing exciting to do. What am I not getting?

Do you have to pay to create your OWN content? I'm a 3D modeler and wouldn't mind creating and contributing some free content, but... I guess I really never got far enough into the "game" to see what it's all about. I'd like to give Second Life a Second Chance

Hello McKack.

What you describe is the help island, that place was created so the new residents can get used to how to move and do basic things in SL

If you feel ready to get out of there you just need to search for a big green beacon a light that is like comming from the sky green and that will take you to a sign that says click here to exit

Your best tool to explore and search for places that will be interesting for you is using the search tool.

I just registered a new account They instantly disabled my old account when I typo'd my password just one time and I got a message to call a US phone number to get further assistance - that'd be a long distance call disaster...

tl;dr: Gonna give it another go and try to delve a little deeper into the SL universe, first things first, fix those damn controls. I mean, arrow keys? This ain't the 90's, heh =)

For controls, WASD works when the chat rectangle thing is hidden. E is to jump/fly and C is to crouch.

my mum banned me from SL coz she doesn't think it's safe ive been trying to tell her it's a place where u can get creative and meet peeps similar ot you for example peeps with AS but she didn't listen so i guess i'll get back on someday prefferably when i live on my own or in america -.-
