The NWO is systematic co-ordinated organization;body of people, who have clearly evil and diabolical aims and are vehemently antichristian. it is obvious that the gay rights agenda have crafted laws to suit their pernicious agenda.Hatecrime legislation. The nightmarish 1984 is coming true. The orwellian UN are proof of this. You must fight them do not give into these effeminate panzies.
@quarterexchange Governments have the REQUIREMENT to eliminate minority opinion. That's why there's no more slavery, wife beating - even farming of Veal. All minority opinions that have been swept into history.
@quarterexchange All govenrments govern through the application of opinion, converting thought into action. There is no such thing as a governing body that has no opinions of its own, nor of one that permits all other opinions - since opinions of others are also translated into action at some level.
U know nothing of European law!! U have ready a news artical and now u think ur a news reporter!!
U ever read George Orwell book?
And u r u homophobic? u seem to be slating the community support officer (not police officer) for being and transexual bi gay lesbian?! hmmm, for one that doesnt make sense, and it could be an adiquate display of ur homophodia.
Stop labelling people! Ready a freaking book, Visit Europe (not just The Vatican) Stop being hyprcritical and GROW UP!
U ability to stick labels on ppl is amazing, do u even know wot a community support officer is? Not that im defending the arrest, (i know nothing about it really). But because someone does not agree with u that makes them a facist totalitarian?! Grow up u child!!
And wots ur obsession with libralism being evil by the way?
Soviet union? Thought Police? Jeeze, What era do you live in? Stop pointing fingers at someone who is legitimately attempting to aid his stream of consciousness. The preacher is in a system that closely monitors calls to incitement of harm. If the General public deems ones comments capable of Inciting harm, then you are in breach of societal contract.
dont try and correct me if you dont know your own damn laws. And learn how to use commas, and go bury your head back in 1984.
Though I am one for freedom of speech I'm glad that the guy went to jail for that. What gives him the right to preach his bullshit against gay people? What makes him so superior? Because he believes in things he reads in a storybook he has the right to go public with all his bullshit? And do not say anything about mind controlling thugs. The Christian/Catholic church has been run by mind controlling thugs since it started.
@homicidaltoast I'm gay, I don't like that gay people are targeted by people of faith, but he has every right to teach what he believes as long as he's not saying "kill them." This is just like Nazi Germany. If you're talking about the wrong subject, you'll be snatched up and hauled off to concentration camps. Would you sing the same tune if it were a theocracy arresting you because you supported the LGBT community?
Suck my balls; I'm a product of American education, born and raised in America, so stick your brainwashing crap where the sun don't shine you fucktard. An opposing opinion does not imply brainwashing, it implies an OPPOSING OPINION!
I'm Christian and I'm not bothered by a preacher being arrested for insulting the GLBT group, even though I'm strait as well. And I'm glad that the UK has this act, that means that they will finally give jail time to racists and bigots alike who decide that they are better than other people because of one or two genetic differences.
@gator0713 idiot. pretty clear you never read any novel like 1984. Thoughtcrime includes what is spoken. Any nation that prosecutes you for what you say is an unfree reactionary hellhole. Fuck the UK. We manage to get all their smart immigrants.
@gator0713 okay, since you are only 17, I'll go easy on you. You are still probably in the British public school and still are quite under the influence of its brainwashing.
See, I never said that the person never used hate speech. I am not here to make that claim, nor have I ever. I am here to defend free expression. Whether it is hateful or not. Because if you are only free to say nice things, then you are not free. Free speech is about being able to say ugly and unpopular things.
@Th1sWasATriumph; Clearly Brock is a butt knuckle, but I disagree with your statement here. See quarterexchange's comments below. Says it pretty well, no need to re-state. I like being able to say nasty things about ppl like Brock.
You suffer ad hominem, affirming the consequent, circular arguments, ad misericordiam, and equivocation. Your argument is weak.
Assumptions weaken your argument as well. fix these and you will have a stronger point.
just wanna ask what your thoughts are on the notion of a mosque on Ground Zero? Have any good points about it? It falls in line with the issue at hand.
Also, we should note, the arrest of the preacher had more to do with disturbing the peace and hate speach.
The left loves censorship and hates Free Speech they use the language of civil rights and marxism to force their liberal California politics on us through the courts.
As an Atheist Conservative in the UK, I think there are a lot of double standards in Britain today
The prevailing attitude is that anything that criticises liberal-left attitudes is dangerous and so must be stamped out, in case there is some kind of resurgence of bigotry.
In reality, all that happens is that free speech and common sense are suppressed, but people who genuinely are bigoted (i.e. not conservatives) gain more and more support. That's 13 years of Labour for you.
@boredcloud That's true, and maybe that is the point. Maybe those governments want to create more racism because I hear people from the UK telling me they weren't racist until the hate speech laws came out and the facist anti-racists made them want to become racist.
It sucks that anyone ends up being a racist, horrible really. There's no excuse for it. But there are certain things which will increase the level of racism in any given nation or society, and these laws are one of those things.
@KingRadbadical1988 Perhaps. Labour did everything they could to make people identify by gender, race, religion, sexuality or class - in their simple little neo-Marxist minds, they desperately need that social warfare, instead of patriotism and national unity.
Wherever immigration gets out of control, support for the Far Right spreads. Look at Sweden recently. Margaret Thatcher limited immigration, and support for the National Front dropped. Tony Blair did the reverse. Labour made the BNP.
What is wrong with an Anti Religious Bigotry act? Sounds good to me, the fewer Religious Bigots in our society the better. I would just add one little word, "Hypocrite" as most of the Religious Bigots I know are dyed in the wool Hypocrites. So lets hear it for a new Anti Religious Hypocrite Bigotry act., I would vote for it in a heartbeat.
What scares me is that those kinds of acts are already in place in many western countries and are already used to silence dissenting speech.
And to you personally: So you would have me arrested for publicly speaking my mind with a law that is ambiguous at best and can be interpreted in many different ways?
I could be talking about sin in general without naming specific sins and you'd arrest me because you interpret it as bigotry .
Do i actually stop homosexuals from having sex with each other?
They feel insulted?
A skeptical agnostic friend of mine told me that no one has the right to not feel insulted by the words and actions of others and while i think there's common sense necessary to prevent people from unnecessarily insulting people, i think he has a point with regards to public property.
Thus street preaching falls under this, like other free speech.
@TheTomtompiper: And with regards to hate speech, it is one thing to say that homosexuality is a bad thing, it's another to talk about hating the people who practice it and/or inciting violence against them.
But even then many demonstrations in the US allow for hate speeches and incitations to violence, look for instance to the protests with regards to Israel and Palestine, where people say that they'd like to see Israel destroyed and similar stuff, which is only monitored for actual violence.
@TheTomtompiper oh OK and if tomorrow the world decides that most people eat there pizza from the top down and it annoys the majority when other eat it crust first that its alright to arrest those people who go against the norm? where does it stop? when did it become alright to forcefully silence people for speaking out? human rights is an all or nothing game. its due justice when you get your right to free speech and a nuisance when other use their free speech.
This guy wasn't saying "all gay people are worthless and we should hate them" I believe he said something like "I disagree with homosexuality", so yes, it was religious speech and not hate speech. You're allowed to disagree with something.
I have no problem with homosexuality, but if someone else says "I disagree with homosexuality" that's their opinion and I'd be an idiot to call it "bashing gay people" I have two gay friends who've told me these laws are all bullshit.
@kurgimees he was not bashing gay people. he was making his argument. he was voicing his opinion. bashing gay people is writing fuck off fag on the side of their house or throwing rocks through their window. what if his people where the majority and there where a bunch of gay men doing what he was and preaching against Christians? should they be arrested? just because you don't like the message doesn't give you the right to silence the speaker.
@gibblets17 Unfortunately ppl have been so brainwashed they can't tell the difference anymore. It is Pavlonian/Skinner conditioning instead of critical thinking. Facts are baseless to these ppl if it doesn't match up with how they feel. It's sad that societies have downgraded to this. This is a spiritual war my friend. The lies, hypocrisy, and double standard is able to hide in plain sight now. That should prove that there is something very sinister at work now.
I don't know if Youtube is going to let me post part of this link but there is a story of arrest buy the higher courts released the defendants because free speech is protected under the Bill of Rights ..link: snopes.com/politics/religion/inpublic.asp
I guess the British will no longer be able to claim " Stiff Upper Lip" when they can't handle a Preacher preaching from the Bible. These are not the same people who stood in the face of Nazi's & Adolph Hitler. sad day.
@wastedsummer08 If it is as you say " fictional and a stupid book" then why are you getting all worked up? why are you equating killing someone with free speech? bad analogy. I have never heard of someone dying from just words.
@ProudFreeAmerican hmm, I'm getting worked up because too many idiots on this planet still believe in a book that teaches homosexuality is wrong.
And words can kill indirectly
THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE a year kill themselves because of people like the homophobic cunt mentioned in this video.
And they kill themselves because in the end they deal with that kinda bollocks every day of their lives and all it takes is ONE MORE anti-gay comment for them to finally tip them over the edge.
If this was true I would be shocked but you have to keep in mind where this is coming from... its the british equivalent of idk some crazy American Newspaper that makes up shit to sell papers... like those magazines at wal-mart checkouts with crazy scenarios of aliens or monsters. I think the source for this was Dailymail... this is exaggerated at best.
@Shenanigans07 Don't worry about it now, it's too late for you. Your guns are gone and you are as helpless as kittens. No, in the States preachers are not being arrested for preaching against homosexuality. now....sleep.
@ProudFreeAmerican Odd... My girlfriends dad was the person who linked this video to me yesterday and he told me a story about the time his friend got arrested for preaching against homosexuality... and he's from the US OF A.
(I have no idea what your rant at the start was about... but hey... erm...) *watches the African dancers on the tele*
Public Order Act is a list of laws. Some small some big.
Examples:
Offensive behaviour
Offensive language
Aggressive behaviour and so on... along those lines
Us Brits (well, most of us) are very well developed, so religion is massively in the decline here.
We're taught very early on that imaginary friends are for kids and are no longer needed as a grown up, and that bullies are to be treated as they treat others.
How can this guy be so wrong so many times! get owned on all of his videos and still arrogantly think hes correct. The Irony of this guy is so epically boundless on so many levels he must have the world record. What a dick!!!
It doesn't just not bother "the left", nobody here really gives a shit. We frown on people who frown on others just for being who they are in their own right - the same law applies to hatred against christians. You'd deny it, but you're probably the kind of person that would just arrest someone for being homosexual...so what are you on?
"'When they cut off my nose and ears, I passed out.' Bibi Aisha, 19, of Afghanistan, who was punished by the Taliban for "shaming" her in-laws when she ran away to escape torturous domestic abuse. Her father sold her to her abusive husband when she was 10."
That, ladies and gentlemen, is your right. Your religious rightist mindset. Totalitarian to the marrow of the rightist bones.
If you really want to play this fallacious game in place of valid arguments then you never win.
My question is why dont you ever respond to any comments??? Is it because your always slammed with the true facts??? Who cares what happens in the UK. But here in America everyone has rights. Thats the America I live in. Just like you have the right to spew your hate message on YT.
TAA, you're a moron. If you read the Public Order Act you would understand why he was arrested. Instead of just saying the word totalitarianism 100x why don't you scrutinize the situation. You affiliate the left of doing the "same thing" as the Christian Right, but you're wrong. Why? Because unlike the CR, the left doesn't go around spreading "CHRISTIANS MUST DIE!! TO BE A CHRISTIAN AND HATE IS A SIN!!!" Yatayatayata. So, double check the hypocritical side of this situation, because your on it.
In England it works both ways, a Preacher can't spout hatred about homosexuals and vice versa, homosexuals can't go around spouting hatred towards Christianity or any other religion. Thats why we have the public order act which is part of our normal justice, to stop bigots disrespecting and offending others just because they choose to live differently
Why should anyone be allowed to preach hatred towards anyone in our country? If some gays wanna do anything what has it got to do with you or your fake religion? Are you a closet homosexual? Yeah I think so.
@MassacreBlast Yeah this isn't america dickhole. You can't just make shit up about people like in your shit pile country. Everyone over here knows you christians are all closet queers anyway
and p.s. brock...since you're obviously against laws infringing on individual rights, please make a vid on how i should be able to smoke weed not only in my own home but in public =) ...oh and you should probably endorse the right for a woman to choose now dont ya think?
...you sound like an even bigger vagina when you get all riled up Brock....do you not understand that ANYONE disturbing the peace is liable to arrest in the UK...
you wouldnt have even made a video if it'd been any other set of circumstances, but since the guy happened to be a crazyass preacher screaming obscenities in "gods name", you're gonna puff up and squawk about it like a parakeet without its seed stick....try making a vid on the the UK's public ordinance laws in a generalized context next time
This one is a simple one. The UK has been trying to remove God from all public arena for years now. Yet they scream foul when or if any other beliefs are told to keep it at home. It all comes down to freedom. In the UK they want freedom replaced with "our way of thinking" and you are right the US just wants to follow old brother and you can bet this is where we are heading.
@The AtheistAntidote2 you are very close minded. Why the hell are you against homosexuals and transexuals, they are not "impure". also in your bio i know you think you are great but there is no need to talk about yourself in the third person. ILY ISOB GAL
This kind of crap doesn't happen because of 'the left' - we've already been through that nonsense kind of idea in the UK - The Sun was talking about politically correct so called loony lefties back in the eighties. Since then we know that the real agenda is a right wing establishment agenda. So it was a homophobic Christian this time - but we're all at risk, so yes, we should all be worried, but the fact he was a Christian is incidental, today you can be arrested for causing offense...Fascism
Its hilarious when people call Christians "homophobic" How come they dont call us names like that with the other sins? Incest is a sin and so is beastiality, yet nobody calls Christians bigoted against those groups, nor do they call them incestophobes or beastophobes.
@peilthetraveler maybe 'we' don't think about the world in terms of sin, there are things that I feel are good and things I feel are bad and things I'm indifferent to. If 'we' call you homophobic it's because that defines your attitude to gay people, hating them as people because their way of being doesn't conform to your standard of right and wrong.
If you are a sheep shagger then I would call you a sheep shagger - not a bigot, what does bigotry have to do with bestiality or incest?
@trifelgeputinage The definition of "Bigot" is someone who is intolerant of anothers beliefs, creeds or opinions. Atheists are bigots towards Christians. The left LOVES using the word bigot as a sort of "dirty word" to use against people that do not like homosexuals as it "sounds" bad to be a bigot. Its basically a propaganda tool for the left to trick you onto their side. Arent you intolerant against people that like to rape & murder? I know I am. That makes us both bigots I suppose.
@peilthetraveler You said it yourself - a bigot is intolerance of someone's beliefs, creed, opinion - BUT to the point at which they believe these things are wrong and should be stamped out. Atheists might not like Christianity - but I don't know any who would stop you practising your religion, if they do they're bigots. Rape etc cannot be compared to being gay, being gay hurts no one, it should not be criminalised, but bigots WOULD criminalise it if they could - often in the name of religion.
@trifelgeputinage So if being gay hurts no one, then why is it that nobody hopes their children are born gay? What about AIDS? Homosexuals are 100 times more likely to get it than straight people.(And there is almost no chance for straight people to get hiv if they listen to the bible and wait for marriage) I also find it hard to believe that you know no atheists that dont want Christians to stop practicing their religion
@peilthetraveler As an atheist I have no objections to christians practicing their religion (I do, however, think that anyone who bases their beliefs on a badly written, 2000 year old book does need to get some serious therapy). What I do object to is people of any religion trying to impose their belief system and "moral" (ahem) code on the rest of us.
@1964atomic What I object to is people trying to impose their lack of beliefs and "Immoral" code on the rest of us. (I also think that anyone who bases their beliefs on a badly written 150 year old book needs to get some serious therapy.)
@trifelgeputinage Oh...you trapped yourself with your own words too. You just said bigots WOULD criminalize homosexuality if they could in the the name of religion, BUT this preacher was arrested AS A CRIMINAL in the name of homosexuals. So by your own words, these homosexuals that AA2 was talking about are bigots.
@peilthetraveler Oh for heavens sake get some brains. Your attitudes reveal your bigotry, you think there is somethng inherently wrong with being gay and you equate being gay with murder and rape. I don't care if my kids are gay or not - and what has AIDS got to do with it, it's a disease, if we listen to the bible it doesn't change our sexuality.
You seem to think atheism is anti religion. I don't care what you believe if it doesn't bother others, but listen to yourself - cont
@peilthetraveler CONT... arrested, that is an infringement of his rights to free speech. The politically correct mob are little fascists, but then your attitude toward being gay sounds like one of intolerance too, two wrongs don't make a right - so I stand up for your right to say what you want - but I don't agree with you and I would fight you as hard as I fight against the PC busy bodys, the irony is that Christians try to censor people for years but when the tables are turned they get upset!
@peilthetraveler also what has the left got to do with this? The left disappeared years ago, the current climate is one of rampant Capitalism in which workers have no voice, the Unions are just a tool of the establishment and the old Socialist parties have all but gone. That's why the establishment can get away with silencing whoever they want with impunity. It's nothing to do with religion and everything to do with politics (or lack of ).
It's ironic - because coming from the UK - I can tell you that this incident is typical of the politically correct agenda that the establishment has imposed on us - it goes hand in hand with the overall crackdown on our civil liberties. These were no gay 'thugs' - these were whiney little fascists, busybodys who have come out of the woodwork since our whole society went ideologically crazy under Thatcher - the old rampant capitalist brigade. Now Christians suffer! IRONIC! 'Gay thugs' ridiculous.
I wonder how atheists would like it if they went out with darwins book and said "We all evolved from monkeys" and then were quickly arrrested, fingerprinted and released on bail only if they agreed to never speak in public like that again. How would you like that atheists? And what would your thinking be on why they tried to shut you up?
@Ilikenuman Show me an atheist that doesnt believe in evolution. Show me one that doesnt believe in the big bang. Didnt think so. Just like all atheists, you had to completely change the question in order to give me an answer because if you ACTUALLY answered the question I asked, you might actually be forced to empathize with preachers...and i know thats against your "religion"
Antidote just so you know: Britain does not have the First Amendment. Freedom of speech is revered but is clipped and regulated there. It has been so since forever it is nothing new and yes I am opposed to it but it has nothing to do with the left. Ask David Cameron the leader of the conservatives and I doubt he would tell you anything different from what the liberals would say.
Say it loud and often, Brock. Nothing makes the leftist heads explode like being exposed to their own totalitarian tendencies, to their worship of all that is ungodly, and to their rank hypocrisy. Luckily, here in America, it's all collapsing underneath them. They know it, too, which is why they're in their death throes. And I do mean throes. LOL
@Sweet92Sue The Rapture can't come soon enough. Once all you right wing christian fundaMENTALISTS have been taken up to your heaven it will leave the rest of us in peace on ours.
the Word of God is forever. Even though we live in a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah where everything is OK, we have to persevere and tell the truth of God's Word. Blind people like TatsujinSan, or the thug in this story, have no idea what they are saying or doing in these matters. Pray that God does open their eyes to the light.
Brock. You're out of you're fucking mind. It's hate speech. It should not be protected by religion. It's a public disturbance. It's like standing on a street corner shouting obscenities at children. It's vulgar, immature, infantile, and offensive. The reason you're allowed to get away with it through other outlets is that people can avoid reading certain things, watching certain videos or television broadcasts.
There's nothing wrong with homosexuality. Get it through your thick skull.
Good to see someone as unbiased, neutral and just, and righteously speaking as you. It's good to see that you are capable of judging and entire faction based off of one extreme isolated case. Good for you. This was the first video I have watched of you. Would you want me to judge your entire channel off of this video? No, you damn well wouldn't.
Fact is that religious people are hypocrites! The vast majority of married christian men pound their wives in the back door, so they be doing the exact thing that gays do! Deny it all you want husbands butt(spelling intended lol)it's true and you know it!!
Right on!!! ALL preachers who spew their religious GARBAGE should be arrested, MOCKED, whipped, punched in the face as a first warning! If it happens a second time you know what should happen!!
The liberals here in the UK are certainly poisonous, and it's precisely because they're in denial about their own agenda to push their views onto everybody else through the state that they are so dangerous.
Those evil LGBT bastards! theyre not allowed to get married or adopt children and we still have to pay money towards a church that only 20 percent of the country attends but yeah, the liberals are so evil!
@Ilikenuman believe it or not, most liberals in this country are bigoted. They view the evangelical Christian message as something to be silenced in whatever way possible.
@Ilikenuman the man was arrested and locked in a cell for seven hours or so just for listing homosexuality as a sin alongside fornication and a whole range of other things to a bypasser. He actually didn't talk about homosexuality from his stepladder, not that it would be wrong for him to have listed it as a sin from his makeshift pulpit. If he had said, let's petrol bomb gay people's homes, that's different. No Christian should tell others God hates them. God hates sin, not His children.
@athlete117 Fine, what if he had been preaching that god hated interracial marriage? Not that black people or white people were bad. Just that them marrying eachother was a sin? Should he have been given such bad treatment for preaching what he religion deemed a sin?
@Ilikenuman Why are you asking questions not relevant to this man's case? Clearly you see the injustice of what those officers did to this man but don't want to admit it because he's a Christian preacher? If somebody put you in prison for saying that Christianity is wrong and that all who believe in Christianity are sinful because they believe in a hell of some kind for non-believers, I would think that just as unjustified as what happened to this Christian preacher.
@Ilikenuman unlike you, I am not angry at people who don't share the same faith as myself. I am just not that insecure about what I believe to think it necessary to give a hostile response to somebody shouting about what they perceive as the wrongs of Christianity.
@athlete117 im not talking about christianity! Im talking about somebody preaching hatred towards something that they cannot help!
Why should they get a free ride just because its for religious reasons? I couldnt care less if he was a homophobic atheist or a homophobic christian.
I dont think he should have been locked up no. But I dont like how youre trying to make this look like christian discrimination. Its nothing to do with christianity, its about freedom of speech in general.
@Ilikenuman You have no idea what being homophobic is then. To say that homosexuality is a sin is perfectly true for the Christian and is not in any way homophobic. I have family members who are openly gay, and I am very close to them and their friends. I consider homosexuality to be a sin in the same way numerous other things are sinful, numerous other things I have done that are sinful, so I am a homophobe? It isn't about treating people fairly for you, it's about maoning at religious people.
Well yes it IS homophobic because its saying that homosexuality is as bad as theft, or as bad as killing. and is a sin that makes you worthy of going to hell.
Like i said, i dont care if youre being homophobic for religious reasons or not, youve broken the law in this country.
I dotn agree with that law, but i dont like you trying to twist it into some kind of anti christian agenda.
@Ilikenuman it is a sin in the eyes of the Lord just like fornication, aldultery and all manner of other crimes most, if not all, are guilty of. It is not breaking the law to say getting drunk is wrong (which is what sin really means), nor is it against the law to say, same sex relationships are wrong. Somebody is perfectly entitled to say those things, but because it's a Christian preacher, different rules apply. It is an agenda against evangelical Christians, absolutely.
I thought i had made it clear that he shouldnt have been arrested whatever he had said. BUT, he wasnt arrested for preaching, he was arrested for criticizing homosexuality.
So yes, he was wrongly silenced, but he wasnt silenced for preaching christianity.
@Ilikenuman so you think listing homosexuality as a sin is homophobic but that people should be able to do it anyway? So by that standard, people should be allowed to go around calling other ethnicities all the hateful words under the sun? They should be able to say whatever they want in any scenario?
@Ilikenuman I disagree with you that calling homosexuality a sin is homophobic and I also disagree that people should just be allowed to say whatever they want in any circumstances. If I stood in front of a crowd and started shouting and spewing racial hatred towards black people, or if I rallied a crowd by telling them they should blame all their problems on the Jewish elite using Nazi propaganda, that's all OK? I have my free speech?
@athlete117 yes you have your freedom of speech. That doesnt mean people cant write angry letters and get you fired from your job ect. But you should lose the ability to say it. just because youre allowed to be a racist prick, doesnt mean people need to take you seriously.
@Ilikenuman and no, I am not a homophobe, I don't condemn others for their faults because I have my own, and I treat gay people as I do everybody else. Homophobia is actually a fear of homosexuals. The clue is in the name. People who hate gay people (would you call them homo-haters) are not preaching a Biblical message. They are just bigoted, and hate speech isn't protected. There is no hate speech in what that man was saying, however, that's what you've got to understad, although you won't.
@athlete117 homophobia is commonly used in reference to people being hateful towards homosexuals, infact thats pretty much the only context people use it in.
and im sure he wasnt saying he hated gay people, or that they were disgusting or any of those things that the westboro baptist church does.
but he wasnt arrested for practicing his religion, he was arrested for homophobia, (whether or not you or me would regard what he said as homophobic)
Politically-right leaning Christianity will always, always, always be at odds with those who support or even tolerate things they deem sinful. Honestly, if a fascist organization jails street preachers from railing against homosexuality, it only bolsters the cause of Christianity. If it is ignored, it should go away. Of course, does that always work.
I am not in favor of fascism, nor am I in favor of locking up Christians for speaking their mind. If a guy's being a prick, just call him on it.
This instance is pretty mild compared to some of the stuff that goes on the UK you should look up the case of the woman who was shot dead because she was shooting a toy gun at the cctv or maybe the guy who was shot dead while watching tv because he had a knife in the kitchen. Or how about the women who bled to death after being shot when the emergency services refused to enter the building because it was against safety regulations to enter a building where a firearm had been used.
Speaking against homosexuality is NOT hate speech! Believing that sex and the sex is just a sacred as ones race, is not being homophobic! Believing that the sole purpose for sex is to procreate and for spiritual union between a man and a woman is not prejudice!
I think Brock would still defend this pastor, even as you redefine what Christians believe into something negative as hate speech, homophobia, etc, to suit your purpose.
"Hate speech is speech perceived to disparage a person or group of people based on their social or ethnic group"
Homosexuality is a social issue limited to a group of people. How is it not? The purpose of sex is whatever label *I* apply to it. What if I don't EVER want to have children, what then should the purpose of sex be for me? Should I not be allowed to experience it?
I haven't redefined anything nor am I motivated by my purpose - I merely point out my issues.
If you don't want to have children, then you should not get married or have sex! I don't understand why you could not have gleaned, at least, that much from my comment. But even so, from a Christian perspective, people are charged with having children - having children and making a family superceeds all career choices.
"don't want to have children, you should not get married or have sex!"
How could you hold such an idiotic view? Sex cannot be solely for pleasure or emotional reasons?? That's insane!!
The self-incrimination aspect of my questions was the very reason they were made. If you can explain to me how they were irrelevant, illogical or otherwise out of order, please do. So far you've said, basically, "but the bible says you should hate gay people! and that alone makes it okay" Uh, wrong!
@YourBrainOnReligion Yes you have! You did not simply ask - what do you feel about homosexuality? the way you felt about the way Christians feel about homosex. was so blatant, that no one could really answer them in a way that would not condemn themself. You don't have to be gay, nor did I ever imply that you were.
@aveyowyns Why would I ask a question I knew the answer to? I know Brock believes in the bible and solely due to this has a bias towards gay people. If you mean for me to answer the question, my answer is: Love should never be wrong when it's between two consenting adults. Ever.
this is horrendous i never thought that a persons rights in MY COUNTRY would be violated in such a way i can only hope that there will be backlash from this.

@quarterexchange All govenrments govern through the application of opinion, converting thought into action. There is no such thing as a governing body that has no opinions of its own, nor of one that permits all other opinions - since opinions of others are also translated into action at some level.

@homicidaltoast I'm gay, I don't like that gay people are targeted by people of faith, but he has every right to teach what he believes as long as he's not saying "kill them." I'm Christian and I'm not bothered by a preacher being arrested for insulting the GLBT group, even though I'm strait as well. Also, we should note, the arrest of the preacher had more to do with disturbing the peace and hate speach.

That's 13 years of Labour for you.
boredcloud 1 year ago
@boredcloud That's true, and maybe that is the point. Maybe those governments want to create more racism because I hear people from the UK telling me they weren't racist until the hate speech laws came out and the facist anti-racists made them want to become racist.
It sucks that anyone ends up being a racist, horrible really. There's no excuse for it. But there are certain things which will increase the level of racism in any given nation or society, and these laws are one of those things.
KingRadbadical1988 1 year ago
@KingRadbadical1988 Perhaps. Labour did everything they could to make people identify by gender, race, religion, sexuality or class - in their simple little neo-Marxist minds, they desperately need that social warfare, instead of patriotism and national unity.
Wherever immigration gets out of control, support for the Far Right spreads. Look at Sweden recently. Margaret Thatcher limited immigration, and support for the National Front dropped. Tony Blair did the reverse. Labour made the BNP.

I would just add one little word, "Hypocrite" as most of the Religious Bigots I know are dyed in the wool Hypocrites. So lets hear it for a new Anti Religious Hypocrite Bigotry act., I would vote for it in a heartbeat.
TheTomtompiper 1 year ago
@TheTomtompiper: LOL, oh the irony of that statement.
Barachem 1 year ago
@TheTomtompiper: And what if i list specific sins as sins?
Do i actually stop homosexuals from having sex with each other?
They feel insulted?
A skeptical agnostic friend of mine told me that no one has the right to not feel insulted by the words and actions of others and while i think there's common sense necessary to prevent people from unnecessarily insulting people, i think he has a point with regards to public property.
Thus street preaching falls under this, like other free speech.
Barachem 1 year ago
@TheTomtompiper: And with regards to hate speech, it is one thing to say that homosexuality is a bad thing, it's another to talk about hating the people who practice it and/or inciting violence against them.
But even then many demonstrations in the US allow for hate speeches and incitations to violence, look for instance to the protests with regards to Israel and Palestine, where people say that they'd like to see Israel destroyed and similar stuff, which is only monitored for actual violence.

KingRadbadical1988 1 year ago
@kurgimees he was not bashing gay people. he was making his argument. he was voicing his opinion. bashing gay people is writing fuck off fag on the side of their house or throwing rocks through their window. what if his people where the majority and there where a bunch of gay men doing what he was and preaching against Christians? should they be arrested? just because you don't like the message doesn't give you the right to silence the speaker.

Which was the case with this homophobic bully.

iluvsystemofadown 1 year ago
In England it works both ways, a Preacher can't spout hatred about homosexuals and vice versa, homosexuals can't go around spouting hatred towards Christianity or any other religion. Thats why we have the public order act which is part of our normal justice, to stop bigots disrespecting and offending others just because they choose to live differently

someranclomguy 1 year ago
This kind of crap doesn't happen because of 'the left' - we've already been through that nonsense kind of idea in the UK - The Sun was talking about politically correct so called loony lefties back in the eighties. Since then we know that the real agenda is a right wing establishment agenda. So it was a homophobic Christian this time - but we're all at risk, so yes, we should all be worried, but the fact he was a Christian is incidental, today you can be arrested for causing offense...Fascism
trifelgeputinage 1 year ago
Its hilarious when people call Christians "homophobic" How come they dont call us names like that with the other sins? Incest is a sin and so is beastiality, yet nobody calls Christians bigoted against those groups, nor do they call them incestophobes or beastophobes.
peilthetraveler 1 year ago
@peilthetraveler maybe 'we' don't think about the world in terms of sin, there are things that I feel are good and things I feel are bad and things I'm indifferent to. If 'we' call you homophobic it's because that defines your attitude to gay people, hating them as people because their way of being doesn't conform to your standard of right and wrong.
If you are a sheep shagger then I would call you a sheep shagger - not a bigot, what does bigotry have to do with bestiality or incest?
trifelgeputinage 1 year ago
@trifelgeputinage The definition of "Bigot" is someone who is intolerant of anothers beliefs, creeds or opinions. Atheists are bigots towards Christians. The left LOVES using the word bigot as a sort of "dirty word" to use against people that do not like homosexuals as it "sounds" bad to be a bigot. Its basically a propaganda tool for the left to trick you onto their side. Arent you intolerant against people that like to rape & murder? I know I am. That makes us both bigots I suppose.
peilthetraveler 1 year ago
@peilthetraveler You said it yourself - a bigot is intolerance of someone's beliefs, creed, opinion - BUT to the point at which they believe these things are wrong and should be stamped out. Atheists might not like Christianity - but I don't know any who would stop you practising your religion, if they do they're bigots. Rape etc cannot be compared to being gay, being gay hurts no one, it should not be criminalised, but bigots WOULD criminalise it if they could - often in the name of religion.
trifelgeputinage 1 year ago
@trifelgeputinage So if being gay hurts no one, then why is it that nobody hopes their children are born gay? What about AIDS? Homosexuals are 100 times more likely to get it than straight people.(And there is almost no chance for straight people to get hiv if they listen to the bible and wait for marriage) I also find it hard to believe that you know no atheists that dont want Christians to stop practicing their religion
peilthetraveler 1 year ago
@peilthetraveler As an atheist I have no objections to christians practicing their religion (I do, however, think that anyone who bases their beliefs on a badly written, 2000 year old book does need to get some serious therapy). What I do object to is people of any religion trying to impose their belief system and "moral" (ahem) code on the rest of us.
1964atomic 1 year ago
@1964atomic What I object to is people trying to impose their lack of beliefs and "Immoral" code on the rest of us. (I also think that anyone who bases their beliefs on a badly written 150 year old book needs to get some serious therapy.)

@trifelgeputinage Oh...you trapped yourself with your own words too. So by your own words, these homosexuals that AA2 was talking about are bigots.
peilthetraveler 1 year ago
@peilthetraveler Oh for heavens sake get some brains. Your attitudes reveal your bigotry, you think there is somethng inherently wrong with being gay and you equate being gay with murder and rape. I don't care if my kids are gay or not - and what has AIDS got to do with it, it's a disease, if we listen to the bible it doesn't change our sexuality.
You seem to think atheism is anti religion. I don't care what you believe if it doesn't bother others, but listen to yourself - cont
trifelgeputinage 1 year ago
@peilthetraveler CONT... arrested, that is an infringement of his rights to free speech. The politically correct mob are little fascists, but then your attitude toward being gay sounds like one of intolerance too, two wrongs don't make a right - so I stand up for your right to say what you want - but I don't agree with you and I would fight you as hard as I fight against the PC busy bodys, the irony is that Christians try to censor people for years but when the tables are turned they get upset!
trifelgeputinage 1 year ago
@peilthetraveler also what has the left got to do with this? The left disappeared years ago, the current climate is one of rampant Capitalism in which workers have no voice, the Unions are just a tool of the establishment and the old Socialist parties have all but gone. That's why the establishment can get away with silencing whoever they want with impunity. It's nothing to do with religion and everything to do with politics (or lack of ).
trifelgeputinage 1 year ago
It's ironic - because coming from the UK - I can tell you that this incident is typical of the politically correct agenda that the establishment has imposed on us - it goes hand in hand with the overall crackdown on our civil liberties. These were no gay 'thugs' - these were whiney little fascists, busybodys who have come out of the woodwork since our whole society went ideologically crazy under Thatcher - the old rampant capitalist brigade. Now Christians suffer! IRONIC! 'Gay thugs' ridiculous.

the Word of God is forever.

Ugh. Such righteous indignation. When "anti-american" speech is restricted, do you speak out?
nightpotato 1 year ago
Right on!!! ALL preachers who spew their religious GARBAGE should be arrested, MOCKED, whipped, punched in the face as a first warning! If it happens a second time you know what should happen!!

The liberals here in the UK are certainly poisonous, and it's precisely because they're in denial about their own agenda to push their views onto everybody else through the state that they are so dangerous.
athlete117 1 year ago
@athlete117 yeah! how dare we!
Those evil LGBT bastards! theyre not allowed to get married or adopt children and we still have to pay money towards a church that only 20 percent of the country attends but yeah, the liberals are so evil!
Ilikenuman 1 year ago
@Ilikenuman believe it or not, most liberals in this country are bigoted. They view the evangelical Christian message as something to be silenced in whatever way possible.
athlete117 1 year ago
@athlete117 I believe the message should be viewed just like any other message. Open to scrutiny.
If a preacher says "god hates niggers", why should be be allowed to preach like that?
Ilikenuman 1 year ago
@Ilikenuman the man was arrested and locked in a cell for seven hours or so just for listing homosexuality as a sin alongside fornication and a whole range of other things to a bypasser. He actually didn't talk about homosexuality from his stepladder, not that it would be wrong for him to have listed it as a sin from his makeshift pulpit. If he had said, let's petrol bomb gay people's homes, that's different. No Christian should tell others God hates them. God hates sin, not His children.
athlete117 1 year ago
@athlete117 Fine, what if he had been preaching that god hated interracial marriage? Not that black people or white people were bad. Just that them marrying eachother was a sin? Should he have been given such bad treatment for preaching what he religion deemed a sin?
Ilikenuman 1 year ago
@Ilikenuman Why are you asking questions not relevant to this man's case? Clearly you see the injustice of what those officers did to this man but don't want to admit it because he's a Christian preacher? If somebody put you in prison for saying that Christianity is wrong and that all who believe in Christianity are sinful because they believe in a hell of some kind for non-believers, I would think that just as unjustified as what happened to this Christian preacher.
athlete117 1 year ago
@Ilikenuman unlike you, I am not angry at people who don't share the same faith as myself. I am just not that insecure about what I believe to think it necessary to give a hostile response to somebody shouting about what they perceive as the wrongs of Christianity.
athlete117 1 year ago
@athlete117 im not talking about christianity! Im talking about somebody preaching hatred towards something that they cannot help!
Why should they get a free ride just because its for religious reasons? I couldnt care less if he was a homophobic atheist or a homophobic christian.
I dont think he should have been locked up no. But I dont like how youre trying to make this look like christian discrimination. Its nothing to do with christianity, its about freedom of speech in general.
Ilikenuman 1 year ago
@Ilikenuman It is a case of persecution against a Christian, how can you not see that?
athlete117 1 year ago
@athlete117 its persecution against a man giving his opinion. he was arrested for being homophobic. Not for preaching his religion.
Ilikenuman 1 year ago
@Ilikenuman You have no idea what being homophobic is then. To say that homosexuality is a sin is perfectly true for the Christian and is not in any way homophobic. I have family members who are openly gay, and I am very close to them and their friends. I consider homosexuality to be a sin in the same way numerous other things are sinful, numerous other things I have done that are sinful, so I am a homophobe? It isn't about treating people fairly for you, it's about maoning at religious people.
athlete117 1 year ago
@athlete117 "and is not in any way homophobic."
Ilikenuman 1 year ago
@Ilikenuman it is a sin in the eyes of the Lord just like fornication, aldultery and all manner of other crimes most, if not all, are guilty of. It is not breaking the law to say getting drunk is wrong (which is what sin really means), nor is it against the law to say, same sex relationships are wrong. Somebody is perfectly entitled to say those things, but because it's a Christian preacher, different rules apply. It is an agenda against evangelical Christians, absolutely.
athlete117 1 year ago
@athlete117 NO IT ISNT!
He would have been arrested if he had just been criticizing homosexuality for whatever the reason!
He wasnt arrested for preaching, he was arrested for criticizing homosexuality!
Ilikenuman 1 year ago
@Ilikenuman And you are defending the fact he was arrested for criticising homosexuality by labelling it a sin.
athlete117 1 year ago
@athlete117
NO IM BLOODY WELL NOT!
I thought i had made it clear that he shouldnt have been arrested whatever he had said. BUT, he wasnt arrested for preaching, he was arrested for criticizing homosexuality.
So yes, he was wrongly silenced, but he wasnt silenced for preaching christianity.
Ilikenuman 1 year ago
@Ilikenuman so you think listing homosexuality as a sin is homophobic but that people should be able to do it anyway? So by that standard, people should be allowed to go around calling other ethnicities all the hateful words under the sun? They should be able to say whatever they want in any scenario?
athlete117 1 year ago
@athlete117
Yes. I believe in freedom of speech.
Ilikenuman 1 year ago
@Ilikenuman I disagree with you that calling homosexuality a sin is homophobic and I also disagree that people should just be allowed to say whatever they want in any circumstances. If I stood in front of a crowd and started shouting and spewing racial hatred towards black people, or if I rallied a crowd by telling them they should blame all their problems on the Jewish elite using Nazi propaganda, that's all OK? I have my free speech?
athlete117 1 year ago
@athlete117 yes you have your freedom of speech. That doesnt mean people cant write angry letters and get you fired from your job ect. But you should lose the ability to say it. just because youre allowed to be a racist prick, doesnt mean people need to take you seriously.
Ilikenuman 1 year ago
@Ilikenuman and no, I am not a homophobe, I don't condemn others for their faults because I have my own, and I treat gay people as I do everybody else. Homophobia is actually a fear of homosexuals. The clue is in the name. People who hate gay people (would you call them homo-haters) are not preaching a Biblical message. They are just bigoted, and hate speech isn't protected. There is no hate speech in what that man was saying, however, that's what you've got to understad, although you won't.
athlete117 1 year ago
@athlete117 homophobia is commonly used in reference to people being hateful towards homosexuals, infact thats pretty much the only context people use it in.
and im sure he wasnt saying he hated gay people, or that they were disgusting or any of those things that the westboro baptist church does.
but he wasnt arrested for practicing his religion, he was arrested for homophobia, (whether or not you or me would regard what he said as homophobic)
Ilikenuman 1 year ago
@Ilikenuman Whether or not you or I would regard what he said as homophobic is the key point in the discussion we were having, though.
athlete117 1 year ago
@athlete117 No it isnt atall. Because i dont think he should have been silenced whatever he had said.
You think he was silenced for preaching christianity.
Im saying he was silenced for criticizing homosexuals, not for preaching christianity.
We both agree that he shouldnt have been silenced though.

It has nothing to do with the political spectrum you fucktard.
KnifieKnifie 1 year ago

Brock does not even try to hide his bias opinions.
Jesse2K12 1 year ago
You have to ask yourself these important questions first, Brock:
- Is speaking out against homosexuality considered a hate speech by UK standards? (I don't know, but it certainly sounds like it.)
- Is giving a hate speech ever a wise or beneficial move for ANY organization to make?
- Should you be defending people who hate other people for things they did not decide for themselves? (Think: hair , eye or skin color...)
- Is hate ever beneficial?
Do you still defend the pastor? :)
YourBrainOnReligion 1 year ago
I know I am not Brock...
Speaking against homosexuality is NOT hate speech! Believing that sex and the sex is just a sacred as ones race, is not being homophobic! Believing that the sole purpose for sex is to procreate and for spiritual union between a man and a woman is not prejudice!
I think Brock would still defend this pastor, even as you redefine what Christians believe into something negative as hate speech, homophobia, etc, to suit your purpose.
aveyowyns 1 year ago
"Hate speech is speech perceived to disparage a person or group of people based on their social or ethnic group"
Homosexuality is a social issue limited to a group of people. How is it not? The purpose of sex is whatever label *I* apply to it. What if I don't EVER want to have children, what then should the purpose of sex be for me? Should I not be allowed to experience it?
I haven't redefined anything nor am I motivated by my purpose - I merely point out my issues.
And I'm not even gay.
YourBrainOnReligion 1 year ago
If you don't want to have children, then you should not get married or have sex! I don't understand why you could not have gleaned, at least, that much from my comment. But even so, from a Christian perspective, people are charged with having children - having children and making a family superceeds all career choices.
aveyowyns 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
"don't want to have children, you should not get married or have sex!"
YourBrainOnReligion 1 year ago
@YourBrainOnReligion Yes you have! You did not simply ask - what do you feel about homosexuality? the way you felt about the way Christians feel about homosex. was so blatant, that no one could really answer them in a way that would not condemn themself. You don't have to be gay, nor did I ever imply that you were.
aveyowyns 1 year ago
@aveyowyns Why would I ask a question I knew the answer to? I know Brock believes in the bible and solely due to this has a bias towards gay people. If you mean for me to answer the question, my answer is: Love should never be wrong when it's between two consenting adults. Ever.
