Good first try. I challenge you to look for sales at fabric stores and try it again using natural materials. I've found linens on sale for less than cotton. The drape and feel gives you a much better learning experience.

Its really nothing to do with Modern. Worlds not Modern, its Natural. So its easy to make Natural things, but people just don't understand or don't care about these things....

You did a diservice by not using natural fibers. The natural material drapes better and feels right. You have created halloween costumes. Try again next year.

I'm learning to sew and I know how to make a skirt, but I want to learn how to make a full midieval outfit. Could you be a little more spacific on the fibers natural fibers you spoke about?

don't place your pins so the point is off of the edge of the fabric, you want to place then straight up and down along the seam. it holds more of the seamline in place. ;-)
