This is an excellent car. My Seat Toledo TdiSE 1.9 110 bhp is the best and most reliable car I ever had. It has now done almost 177,000 miles and it never lets me down. All the quantities of extras keep working. I bought my Seat new at the end of 1999. All the VW group are linked up and use the same engines etc etc.

Youre right...Romania always produced cars in license (Renault,Citroën) and now producing Dacia all around the world.
Skoda before 1989 produces own cars...now only modificated Volkswagens Fabia mk1 is from 80% Volkswagen....in Mlada Boleslav only made one engine 1.2 HTP and two light gearboxes... Dacia is lowcost car..great...Skoda make lowcost cars,but for highest price :)

Skoda isn't what it used to be, it's surprisingly reliable and as far as value for money goes it's one of the more sensible cars you can get today. Some of the Skoda's even beat Volkswagen itself in reliability. A far cry from the old days. The car is very good, drives well, too. Easily beats Mercedes C-class and BMW 3-series in comaprison tests. Maybe you should do some reasearch before you spread your sweet comments?
If you bother to read any serious carmagazines you would know. I wasn't talking about E-class, I wrote C-class, thought even the E-class will be in serious trouble compared to the new Superb. The best German magazines mostly agree (with a few differences from different engines, mocels etc) that the new Audi A4 is the clear number one in this class, followed by the VW Passat, MB C-class and BMW 3-series with the Ford Mondeo pretty close. Then there is a gap down to the great Cit C5 and R.Laguna.
The Superb easily beats the Passat in a comparison. Might even take the A4, at least as long as you don't test the two pumpe düse diesel engines of 105 and 140 hp (only the 170 is the new, lovely common rail engine). It offers maybe the most advanced front lights of today, changing after speed and direction, by far the best cabine room in the class, great comfort, impressive finnish and build quality, much better than any Skoda so far, good comfort, handling, all for a very fair price.
Only driven by people in Eastern Europe? There are plenty of Octavias being used in the UK. Don't you see any taxis or police Skodas? What do you drive something prestigious no doubt like a Fiesta?
No we dont have police skodas never seen one. Our traffic police drive Volvo's BMW X5 or high performance unmrked cars not skodas. As for taxis maybe but hardly any skodas are on the road look at the sales figures.

The car is very good, drives well, too. Easily beats Mercedes C-class and BMW 3-series in comaprison tests. Maybe you should do some reasearch before you spread your sweet comments?

If you bother to read any serious carmagazines you would know. I wasn't talking about E-class, I wrote C-class, thought even the E-class will be in serious trouble compared to the new Superb. The best German magazines mostly agree (with a few differences from different engines, mocels etc) that the new Audi A4 is the clear number one in this class, followed by the VW Passat, MB C-class and BMW 3-series with the Ford Mondeo pretty close. Then there is a gap down to the great Cit C5 and R.Laguna.

The Superb easily beats the Passat in a comparison. Might even take the A4, at least as long as you don't test the two pumpe düse diesel engines of 105 and 140 hp (only the 170 is the new, lovely common rail engine). It offers maybe the most advanced front lights of today, changing after speed and direction, by far the best cabine room in the class, great comfort, impressive finnish and build quality, much better than any Skoda so far, good comfort, handling, all for a very fair price.

No we dont have police skodas never seen one. Our traffic police drive Volvo's BMW X5 or high performance unmrked cars not skodas. As for taxis maybe but hardly any skodas are on the road look at the sales figures.

In Belgium Skodas are ones of the most frequent cars. The UK is an isolated country with taxis which are 50+ years old. The new Superb is certainly a car of high qualities.
