@ClickToWalk Thank you, I lived in Edinburgh for 5 years up to a year ago, going back at the end of this month for a long weekend, I will be sure to take my camera again!
Some day soon I'm a-gonna have lots of money and buy a beautiful place in Scotland and have a beautiful woman to enjoy it with! We'll enjoy holding hands and walking around the grounds and she'll tell me all about the land Scotland. We'll drink plenty of great beer and eat the finest foods and travel in our motor car to see the castles and ruins! She'll be amazed at what a fun guy I am and adore the crap out of me and I'll give her lots of money to go shopping with so she'll always look nice!!
Edinburgh is historical and wonderfully spectacular!! I live here and still appreciate it's splendour. For excellent architecture look no further than Auld Reekie!
Great video. I live in Los Angeles, so I may not be the best person to say this but I've been to Edinburgh a few times and it's a lovely city with lovely people. I would live there (maybe part-time) if I could. Simply beautiful. My fav city along with Paris.
Edinburgh is quality. Take it from someone who lived there for 22 years and hated it, moved to NZ and now wants to move back 8 years later....I love Embra.
im born scotish my speech is scotish,i will always be scotish and i will be deed scotish I LUVVVV SCOTLAND ITS THE BEST I LOVE SCOTLAND I LOVE BEING SCOTISH but....people prefer london,England and scotland should get som atention SCOTLAND RULES

princes street rules am never away from the place lol,,,but haha werabout r u then? 2 the person who said they were near the ferris wheel?? lol,,, but yep it is great at xmas :):) xx
I'm from Texas and was just there for Christmas. Thanks for this video. What software did you use for the time-lapse?
The ferris wheel looked fun (and cold)... Saw the German sales booths in the vendors section. Great and wonderful city that Edinburgh is... Probably my favorite in the world.
Hi, glad you like the video It was recorded as a Quicktime .mov file on my camera I then used Rad video tools to split the video to jpeg files (1 for each frame) then used Virtualdub to convert the jpegs to Divx avi, dropping frames to get the the required length of video. Thanks to Meltec2 for his advice on this. You should check out his timelapse "Koya Moments" it's a stunning piece of video with a great choice of music to go with it.
Would have liked to put some music on but I was a novice (and still am) at this type of thing. I will probably have a go at spome point in the future. Any suggestions?
Hey, send me the video and let me experiment with some music and send back to you. I spent 25+ years in television here in the USA... Keep up the good work "novice" I liked this and gave you 5 stars. I also taught television at a private university here in Texas... Good stuff, keep at it.
Ha ha, funny you should say that. I had a mini tripod which was sat on top of an electric/telephone junction box on the corner with Princes Street. I kept my hand very close and was constantly looking round, a few scares when people came running up the other side of the railings. Apologies for the delay in replying but I´ve just moved to Barcelona - for good - have not internet access at home, so feel like I´ve lost an arm ;-)
Thats nice. Always good to see TL that lasts longer than two second. You must have stood there for some time, realy good amount of detail. Also took some of the wheel a few years ago now ( Winter Wonderland) but this year concentrated on the reflections of the wheel at night in the Mount Royal windows, came out nice. I am subscibing to your channel as i expect to see more good stuff.
Thanks for the feedback, The original footage was 57 minutes long. Taken at the bottom of Hanover Street with the camera on a mini tripod, on top of a telephone junction box which was nicely positioned; thanks BT :). It got a wee bit chilly and I was a little concerned somebody might try to run off with the camera. The quality is badly degraded in the upload, I was hoping to see more definition in the lights on the wheel and trees. Any 'Top Tips'would be gratefully received. Thanks again.
what was the real time length that you stood to get this shot?
