@sebastianbb12 I actually did a cover of the ending bit you're referring to. it's a short little thing if you want to check it out. Also the music from part of lake laogai (sp?) can also be played on this instrument.
Peace everyone this beautiful sound is given to us by Mbira0racle(user name on youtube) If you want lessons and a authentic mbira you can reach him through that user name....
Hi could you tell me which tuning this Mbira is in? I recently bought one in Nyamaropa, but it sounds different... Is there any standardised tuning for Mbira? I am confused!
No. There's no standard tuning. Pitches are relative to each other but usually fall within a certain pitch range. You can have have nyamaropa in C, G, or whatever. The range and relation of the notes is what matters. What's cool is learning a song on one mbira and then playing it on another. A whole new song!
I tried looking for zanzaindigenous on myspace but wansn't able to find him, I am looking to buy a mbira dzavadzimu for somewhere in the range of 20-45 (give or take) USD
Ok, if you like this video, I will posting more soon. My name is Ikeme, you can find me at Mbira Oracle on MySpace and You Tube. Write to me at infodotmbira at yahoodotcom
You will not find a quality Mbira at that price. Indeed, even poorly constructed Mbira can cost up to 200USD. However, I've seen some as low as 110USD. Dear friend, if you want a quality Mbira you will have to spend more than what you've quoted. I too have some Mbira available if you are interested.
no this is an mbira. it is found in Zimbabwe. both the kalimba and the mbira are in the lamellaphone family but there are definetly some distinctions between the two. if you want more information look for zanzaindigenous on myspace. he is the one playing the instrument and can tell you more.
My name is Ikeme. I'm playing in this video with a Nyamaropa Mujuru Mbira. That Mbira is only several months old, but still produces sweet tones. YOu can learn more on the Mbira Oracle's Myspace page. Just key word Mbira or zanzaindigenous.
