  • CHCH brought back it's old logo, with a little twist.

  • I heard closely to this video, and I heard applause when the intro of ON TV came. Was this a live broadcast of the transition of CHCH to ON tv, or was this an intro to ONtv to a live audience?

  • CHCH Is More similar to its former superstations version of its self that it has been for the last 20 years.

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • Frightenstein ftw

  • i think CHCH should have stayted CH not E!

  • Later this year (2009), CHCH is supposed to undergo a major change.

Upon it's new owner (Channel Zero) taking over, CHCH will drop most syndicated and American programs. CHCH will become a news channel from 6 A.M. to 8 P.M., and will air movies in prime-time (and maybe also in the late-night and overnight hours).

  • I kind of like this idea. It's a throwback to when some broadcasters aired films from "dusk till dawn."

  • "Resources to acquire the best US programming available" That is whats wrong with the Canadian Television industry and why its going away.

  • @theSameRetroWindsor because most Canadians watch American programming and the Canadian television industry knows that

  • Smith & Smith at 1:16! I remember watching reruns of it on Edmonton's CITV and seeing the genesis of Red Green.

  • Demonstrates what a fine city Hamilton once was and it's decline paralleled the decline of CH CH.

  • now that the Aspers of CanWest have taken the axe to the CHCH newsroom, the station is a mere shadow of its former self. too bad.

  • About the only good thing of them becoming "OnTV" was the fact that it started broadcasting in London as well. Before, the only way to watch it here was with cable, or a very powerful antenna.

  • dick bdoes is rolling in his ave

  • ONTV was a pointless name change, especially their "sucks" campaign on subway ads.

  • the OnTV experiment was a waste of time. following in that tradition, so it this "E!" thing they have now. i don't know why they don't just call it CHCH-TV!

  • they call it CHCH for there newscast thank god

  • In September 2007 the CH stations were rebranded as E! Everything Entertainment, local programming uses the station's callsign (e.g. on CH Hamilton they will use the "CHCH News" brand and in Montreal the station will use "CJNT Montreal").

  • The channel is back to CHCH now. Well, actually the news is CHCH news now, there's also that whole E! thing going on.

  • Holy distorted audio Batman !!!!

  • I used to visit Hamilton frequently when I was a kid and I remember my parents driving by the CHCH TV station. I also remember this logo.

  • I remember the logo at 5:17 from watching Rainbow TV Bingo on this channel in the mid-1990s.

  • I don't suppose you have any old ONTV news vids? That's a trip way back to my old Hamiltonian days. :)

  • lol im in Hamilton to please message my channel plzzzz???

  • ugh. ONtv was horrible, and should never be repeated, anywhere. thank god they went back to being local.

  • *Ouch*: audio.

  • Haha I remember living in Toronto and the only reason to watch CH was to watch Alf. Now I live in Hamilton and watch CH religiously. Funny how things change.

  • I remember when CHCH Hamilton's sound quality wasn't very good back then, but now it's good. I think the opening tune when say "Channel 11" is kind of cute and wish they still used that today. It's kind of catchy. Cool video. A day that changed television forever in Hamilton.

  • w00t go Steel Town :) In case anyone cares its back to CH again.

  • Not for much longer, though. It will change its name to E! in September
