Your problem is the misinformation that oil production has to stabilize. It doesn't. We have found enough to last cenuries based on current ecponential growth rates. The only reason for any shortages, are bureaucratic. If we do come to the point of demand beyond ability to produce, maybe elected officials will finally do whats necessary and let oil companies do their Goddamn job. Get oil out of the ground where we find it.

I said the oil industry has already stabilized, and has not had significant gains in production in the last few years while demand has exponentially risen as forecast by peak oil theory. The theory does not mention lack of oil, but instead lack of a reality check on the industry to see that supply cannot meet the demand for oil in the future. The rise in production cannot meet future demand, we are OK, China is not.

Oil companies haven't had significant production increases due to regulation, not resources which is required for the "Peak oil" myth. I own a business that does environmental studies. 50% of my business comes from the petrolium industry. You know nothing. There is enough oil out there, there is the technology and the will to refine it and get more use out of it. We do NOT need to cripple our infrastructure with inefficient "green" programs that have never worked anywhere.
