The problem is not with squirrel. The problem is in programming the buttons correctly to do what you want it to do. I would ask your managers to make sure that your buttons are in the correct area and your whole argument about asking how you think that kids will eat anything that is put in front of them is completely stupid. It's not up to you to decide what someone else's kids will eat.
If someone wants a kids burger that is well done, or medium, or medium rare, it is YOUR job to make sure that it's done that way. If you were my employee and I saw this video, you would be fired on the spot. So buck up and stop making opinions that are baseless and absurd. talk to your managers. Maybe you weren't trained correctly!
I cannot believe that someone has created this video. It does not demonstrate any inadequacy in the Squirrel system, but shows the complete lack of understanding from the users and administrators of Squirrel at Logan's. I am an experienced Squirrel administrator and would suggest that all these issues could be fixed in half a day. Also, looking at your layout, I would recommend spending some time selecting appropriate button sizes and layouts for the whole system.
The popup screens, menu items and menu organizing are all done by corporate.
If you want something changed it's gonna be pretty hard to get them to do it.
I could go on to explain why it's doing this. But it basically comes down to the menu not being programmed correctly. It doesn't have to do with Squirrel it's self.
It looks like the problem is Logan's menu management and database, not the Squirrel POS itself. You can easily remove the unnecessary windows, and add buttons that are needed.
Good video illustrating some clear usability problems with the menu design. There are couple of areas where slight improvements could be made. The sound quality was audible but not perfect. It might have helped to summarize your suggested improvements at the end. These are relatively minor points, overall you have done a good job.
