Wheels on a trebuchet have nothing to do with moving the machine around and everything to do with physics. The free rolling trebuchet has significantly more range because the movement allows the weight to drop in a straighter line & you get a higher velocity shot.

Yeah, but how far can ya chuck a fridge? I saw one on TV that hurled a fridge 320+ feet. And the MFin'SOB was HUGE!!!!

put brakes on the wheels so that they dont move. if you do so then youll get more outta this machine

Um that's really false, adding wheels are made primarily for moving trebuchet's down at desired range, but it also gives it's a little "oomph" that slightly boosts it's range. However, it doesn't make alot of difference; you'd probably get a few meters for it.

I don't know if you've studied each fase of a trebuchet's launch, but if you did then you'd understand what I mean. If not well, it's a bit long and boring to explain. Cheers ;)
