Is that Trevor Dawson from the San diego area by chance? I think I went to school with him way back when. Well that is one big flathead and as far as I know, thats about as big as they get here in Havasu.
dang i never been noodling but check out my video catfish pictures. its a bunch of pictures of me and my friends cats from over the summer at a paylake. the last picture is my personal best a 35lb flathead
And the point of this comment is? If you know anything about catch and release, many times the fish are tired and need to be Resuscitated - simply forward and back movements to get water over their gills. Once it was strong enough to swim on its own, it swam off. My uncle, who was taping, was a little premature in the accouncement. The fish swam away on its own power and was successfully released.
Thanks a lot. It was important to us to let it go. A fish doesn't get that big by being dumb. That's one you want out there to keep the gene pool strong :-) That was the biggest freshwater fish I've experienced and I was amazed at how strong it was. Thanks for viewing.

where was that at and what bait?

It was Lake Havasu, AZ - We noodled it. About 15ft. down under a log...took both us to get it. They usually take them on live bluegill.
