  • sounds awful and it has the papa creech freak with his fiddle trash music. so i will not buy this.

  • Great song. Still fresh and poignant. Sadly, their last great album from that era. Afterwards, everything seemed irrelevent and somewhat hollow.

  • I haven't owned my own car since the early 1990s,does that count as being environmentally conscious?

  • All one can do is all one can do. Change your life, and especially your buying habits. Support only green companies (or as best as possible) and become a vegetarian. (yeah, yeah, at least reduce the amount of meat you eat to a sustainable quota & buy only organic meats raised in sustainable ways.)

    Greed will always exist. Acting as a responsible human and choosing who you support monetarily is your most effective means for change.

  • excellent and more and even more than that

  • you need to speak less and listen more if you think only republicans pollute the earth. everyone pollutes the earth. you and i. everyone. we all could use less. we all could give more. the earth has given us so much and only asked for balance in return.

  • Like the planet?.......NEVER VOTE REPUBLICAN it is that simple.

    Although Democrats are weak and semi-corrupt, they are by far the lesser of evils. Those elephants are greedy scum that will leave us in ashes !

  • @dullsvillain Wow, I see that you are misinformed. Typical of a Dem.

  • @Daisy123M

    Grace Slick thinks those earth raping bunch of crooks are scum.

    ( Cheney and BP , Bush opening forests to mining are 2 of thousands of assaults on the planet. Gore wrote a book on climate change while they scheme on money )

  • @dullsvillain - And algore turns out to be the biggest polluter and crook of the bunch. Real good comeback there dulls! It would be good I he practiced even 100th of one % of what the lying basrard preaches. How much does that private jet put out in the way of cleaner air anyway?

  • @dullsvillain vote libertarian

  • Dear, your voice is very nice. But I am not understanding what you are saying. I am making project on earth mother. Please write me its meaning. Thanks in advance dear youtube user DouglasinPhily

  • Great song, EXCELLENT images. Well done!

  • Great song, EXCELLENT images. Well done!

  • Love Song to the Earth...

  • Lyrics in song for Mother Earth...

    "The children are your salvation"...

  • Wow, 40 years old.. and the message in this song rings truer even stronger today... I love this band.

  • West palm,

    I suggest the melody is the grandchild of some common musical ancestor. It shares some elements with Matty Groves which I believe is the grandchild of the same ancestor. When I wrote this, I knew of Matty Groves but done by another artist. I Think some tunes are part of our musical D N A. I present this not as a defense of this work but an explanation

    Be at peace

    Jack

  • This is one of the greatest works of time.

  • rainbows rise up tell them stop rapeing our mother one day

  • The melody to this is v ery close to the traditional folk song Matty Groves which was Fairport Convention signature song

  • Aside from that, your video is awesome. Glad to see some of the Spirit i identify with still Lives. Cheers and best to you

  • Always was a favorite tune for me, and how sadly adequate it still is... Man learns much but changes little... "All because of greed". It is this anthropologist's view that, albeit playing god and becoming a master at bending the earth to his will, the human has not yet learned to control his own self.... and thus has not quite evolved as much as one could believe. Earth Mother... some of your children are still here... for how long? Stands to reason, the Earth be better off without 'us'.

  • Great song and video. Interesting that the old Coke (I want to buy the world a Coke) ad was used. This song was from 1971 and it's theme is still true today. Kinda sad.

  • I would like to thank whoever put this video together but Ireall would like to thank them.

    Be at peace

    Jack Traylor

  • Hi Jack, Still kickin', OK!

  • @jacktraylor I really realy thank you for writing this song Jack!

  • @jacktraylor I really realy thank you for writing this song Jack! I never get tired to listening to it!

  • Sunfighter rising

  • ohh are we the childrens that they were refering?

  • great video to go with this powerful song.

  • the lead guitar sounds like J. Kaukonen.....is it?

  • I am pretty sure that is Jorma.

  • @kharmakreep think this is the line up..Earth Mother

    * Grace Slick - Piano / Vocals

    * Paul Kantner - Vocals

    * Jack Traylor - Guitar / Vocals

    * Spencer Dryden - Drums

    * Craig Chaquico - Lead Guitar

    * Papa John Creach - Violin

    Peace

  • Yes. It was Jorma. I was there in Wally Heider studio in SF watching this being recorded. They did Jefferson Airplane,Bark, Sunfighter, and a Hot Tuna album in same 1971 session nights. I think work was being done on a Papa John Creech album also.

  • @kharmakreep Holy shit, where the fuck have you been?!

  • @kharmakreep Actually it's Craig Chaquiço. Jorma does play on another track on the album though.

  • @kharmakreep its peter kaukonen his brother

  • @kharmakreep

    No. J Kaukonen only is credited with having played on one song off the "Sunfighter" album. According to the liner notes, this line-up was:

    Jack Traylor - guitar & vocals

    Greg Chaquico - lead guitar

    Spencer Dryden - drums

    Papa John - violin

  • @kharmakreep the guitar player is jorma's brother, peter

  • Jack Traylor & Steelwind did this song 1st...Jack wrote it...his student Craig Chaquito was the lead guitar in that band...they opened for the first Starship tour on East Coast. saw the unbelievable show in Providence....a wave of energy dripping psychedelia carried 10 people ( THRU the air seemingly) to the stagefront to gladhand Papa John Creech!

  • That's Dick Cheney "all because of greed"

    and Rex Tillerson, chairman and CEO of Exxon Mobil "it's the men who went before" at 2:00

  • Will someone PLEASE gift us with the entire SUNFIGHTER album. THANK YOU!

  • Do yourself a favor and just buy it. You won't be sorry. I just listened to it yesterday. Heck, I bet they have an "expanded" version out now - I should go buy it again.
