my dad bought one of these in around 1983, a '61 1200 and it hasnt given a problem since then. it had an accident about 8 years ago. the other two cars were totalled. the beetle could be fixed and its still running perfect. and you couldnt say it had an accident, it drives the same. now its waiting to be restored. when someone insults it i say: insult when your BMW is 50 years old and running perfect.

Actually the cars could no longer meet the USA emision standards. They were still built well into the 1980's in Mexico and Brazil but not imported.

I have owned 3 bugs and loved everyone. The first one had a moon roof, the second was a limited edition, and the third was one I rolled three times and walked away from it.
