Well, I don't suppose anybody is. It would have been interesting to see Christopher Nolan or Michael Mann (who went to University in London) produce a new interpretation of the show, but a Nick Love version is somewhat harder to be optimistic about. Still, Michael Fassbender as Carter.

You're right there. I'm not so sure about Mann, though. A terrific director for sure, but Miami Vice didn't exactly set the box office alight, despite its gritty realism.

A very talented British director of crime movies would be ideal. The first name that springs to mind is Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake).

I certainly would have enjoyed seeing his take on it; I think he has the right feel for the city. Regardless, I'll most likely go and see Love's version. We movie fans live in hope, do we not?
