  • its a cool school, i dont regret going there, but i was a bit of a loner since majority of students are from the area and i commuted from oakland everyday so i just went to class and left... now that i attend USC, it was a very dramatic change... san jose is a large city but its like a small town environment as compared to LA..... big difference, but honestly if you want that whole"crazy college experience" SJSU is not for you... or simply make friends outside school

  • im going to that college :D

  • I went to SJSU, the campus was nothing to brag about, very average. Although the newer buildings are nice there are plenty of old ugly buildings. I had an okay time there. After attending USC i really saw that SJSU lacked the unity of the Trojan campus. At USC we all came together as a student body and cheered for the football team. At SJSU nobody cared, maybe because the team really sucked.

  • LOL! Most likely! State universities are also different from 'sc-private university.

  • UCLA has the same passion, Cal, and many other public universities

  • SJSU is a commuter college.

We go to class, and go home.

I don't think it's necessarily a lack of unity, we just don't have many students that depend on SJSU.

  • I attended another commuter state college: CSULB--Long Beach State :)

  • david is right, people at sjsu don't need to make friends, they already have them.

  • I like San Jose, CA...for being a LARGE city, it still has a "small town" vibe to it :)

  • @John510Bay when did u graduate cuz i also go to USC and transferred from SJSU.... u also from oakland?, cuz i am

  • @John510Bay :

wow ur comparing usc sports with sjsu ...are you serious? usc is no 1 in the nation, sjsu is a state univ, lucky to even make the post-season. of course usc are going to unite at trojan campus, its called BANDWAGONING!

  • @stokelycarm usc hasn't been number 1 in quite some time, however they are a very strong football program.

  • @John510Bay It's too bad you had an average experience at SJSU. You must remember that each of us are responsible for our own individual experience whether it is average or extraordinary. Life is what we make it to be; in other words, your average experience was of your own creation. For those of us commuters, we enjoy SJSU because of its extraordinary faculty, staff and services and the convenience of the location. It may not be that pretty on the outside, but it is gorgeous on the inside :)

  • Great school; beautiful campus in the heart of a great city... best four years of my life. Go Spartans!

  • BEAUTIFUL Campus...GO SPARTANS!! I am an ANTEATER--LOL!! No football in Irvine, CA!

  • do they have an ROTC program at san jose state?

  • I know for a fact they still have Air Force ROTC, but I'm not sure about the other branches. When I was there (over 10 years ago), SJSU's Air Force ROTC program was the biggest and best in the state. Not sure where it stands now...

  • man i'm only a freshman but i plan on going here XD

  • It is a BEAUTIFUL campus--and so close to the city of San Jose! Best wishes in your academic career! Which high school do you presently attend? The schools in San Jose, CA are GOOD!

  • Which is great cause I live in San Jose and go to Gunderson! lol Is the nursing program there good?

  • I am sorry...I don't know...I did Not go to school there :)

  • The nursing program is very good and has a good reputation, but I know it's a very popular major and often impacted as a result, so competition to get in is stiff. Also, because the program is so popular, it may be difficult to get certain classes some semesters. SJSU is a solid state school where the emphasis is on teaching (not research). Excellent choice for undergrad education. UCs are generally better for graduate study.

  • Now you know what to look for in San Jose, CA when you come to visit!
