  • OMG! Look at all of those wood framed houses. Just waiting to be eaten like pretzels.

  • It's a stovepipe twister!

  • AMAZING footage...but...erm, shouldn't you be heading for shelter rather than standing on an upper level with your camera? :) I didn't hear any sirens going off, that's a bit worrying!

  • HOLY FUCK YOUR JUST LIKE OH HEY A TORNADO GRAB THE CAMERA

  • I remember that - it was all over the news until the power went out. I'm from Madison.

  • the next time you see this tornado tell it i said thank you. a great representation of how the tornado moves. i have never before seen a tornado in such a way.

  • wow dude i would be fucking freaking out hahaha!

  • omg

  • It's so quiet and peaceful when there's that thing!

  • No tornado sirens?

  • you guys are fuckt up lol

  • i live 90 miles northwest from Stoughton Wisconsin

  • OMG run in sied

  • Whoa! Look at that rotation! 5/5!

  • did that hit minnesota

  • @SMJJtwilighters11 uhm no?

  • i live right by there and saw that too

  • HOly shit that's huge

  • HOLY SHIT! I HATE TORNADOES!

  • They should have kept the storm sirens sounding! Anytime a tornado is on the ground, let the sirens blow one continuous wail, or if they are on the 3 minute sounding cycle, keep sounding the sirens!

  • My house got it in that video

  • i drove through there about 30 minutes after it happened on my way to chicago

  • Thats one mean lookin ass tornado.

  • did you know that actually the smaller the tornado the more dangerous it is

  • its more dangerous because it has more force and higher pressure because the air in it can spin faster.

  • Thats horse cock! Then how do you exlpain Greensburg that ternader was a mile and a half it fucked up that whole town. So lets say for example the tornado when it hit it was a 1/4 mile wide then wouldnt it cuased less damage then a fucking huge one!?!?!? or are you sayin that instead of just fuckin peoples cribs up it would have sucked people out of there basement? thats how strong it would be idk hit me back.

  • Ternader...LOL. Sounds southern!

  • physical size of the tornado has no bearing on it's strength. While very wide or "wedge" tornadoes do tend to be strong, there have been many that have been barely EF-1 strength. and visa-versa, there have been some EXTREMELY powerful, narrow tornadoes.. the F-5 that hit Oakfield in 1996 was less than 100yds wide. The F-e that hit Elie, Manitoba was even smaller.. there are NO set standards when visually seeing a tornado and assesing what it's strength is going to be.. they can change on a dime.

  • Actually stronger tornadoes tend to be bigger, though it's nothing to go by.

  • we were at a friends house in stoughton (i live 15 miles ne in C.P.) and we left Stoughton and 3 hours later our friends neighbor's house was hit. In Cross Plains it was just a funnel cloud that passed over

  • this quastion is for sunnyd500. i lived in stoughton too at the time. did you no a maria, moly, and/or amy?

  • how r u guys not like freaking out?! was it just a camera there or was there a camera person?

  • it hit my house people im livin with my aunt. hell know im not goin back there again

  • I live in the town of Oregon it is about 5 miles west of Stoughton and I could see tornado when it was a funnel cloud!

  • It seems like tornadoes never seem to hit Milwaukee. At least, that's what it's always been like for me.

  • Wow, I'm glad we don't get twisters like that in my country. Scary stuff.

  • i live like 2 miles away from where it hit and dude it was freaky also we get lots of tornadoes in wisconsin so it isnt that freaky i was stuck in fondulac for four hours this year because of tha flood

  • ah man I TOTALLY remember this one! I live in oregon so yea, I wasn't too far away..

  • OMG!! i remember this!!(i live in Milwaukee) i was sooo scared! i was home alone and freaked out!!!

  • Yeah it is weird that there aren't any sirens. Our tornado sirens are tested weekly and we haven't had a tornado where I live in my lifetime (I live SE Wisconsin). Tornadoes don't happen THAT often in our state really. We get them obviously but rarely.

  • Actually blackmoon we dont get them THAT rarley. I think the averege of tornadoes in Wisconsin (I live in Racine Co, by the way) is like 21, but in the like the first week this June we've had like what, 13 tornadoes touch-down? But I'll agree, we don't get like, 100 tornadoes each year like Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and the Dakotas do.

  • But our states get Tornadoes in the winter for Kenosha and our T-135`s are tested on the 3rd week of every saturday i believe. but yeah weird to not hear any sirens when the tornado touched down.

  • ahh dude, i remember that day when all those tornados touched down in january. when i heard that i was like dude what the hell? tornados in january???

  • Tornado knocked out power before they had the sirens going. so sirens didnt work lol, didnt see that one coming!

  • 10:30 AM Saturdays...we used to play tennis then by the firestation, right next to the siren - surprise, almost blew our ears off.

  • Yeah i had the same experience with the T-135. A T-135 was placed just about 500 feet from John Bullen Middle School and i was standing outside when it sounded.Except the T-135 sound has a more deeper tone and completely knocked out my hearing on my right ear for a month till the hearing finally came back 50%

  • dude 3 years later and theres still damage! o.O crazy

  • what year was this?

  • August 19, 2005

  • @tzadra The tornado, 1 of 3 in Dane County, actually hit on August 18. It started in Dane County at 6:15pm and left Dane County at 7:15. You can check multiple news sites as well as NOAA for confimation of this date. Plus the fact that I was there myself :)

  • Hey! Nice video! I did a pretty good job with the small space I had left on my video card when I took it.

  • I had mail from people out there blow into my yard about 50 miles east (Milwaukee area)... Crazy stuff.

  • it's wild hearing all the birds chirping..

  • it's even more wierd not hearing the sirens.

were are the sirens? i thought Wiscosin was familiar with tornadoes

  • teah but somthing happened to them! like they short serketed

  • i remember now! the tornado hit the power lines and stopped the sirens.
