  • BAUM LUCKY NOOB

  • dimitrij have a amazing server!

  • baum has become a great player

  • 1 people was beaten by baum too

  • Dimitrij Ovtcharov is german or russian?

  • @DimaKats2

probably his parents are from ukraina...

    i don't know:)

  • @DimaKats2 His father played for the Russian national team.

  • dima is really standing too far away from the table. He will get exhausted very fast like that moving here and there

  • @JaxAkaJT ffs, he is a professional table tennis player. He will never, ever get tired in a match. Have you ever seen a drop of sweat on his face ffs??

  • @Merrlol hmmm...or should I say like this. He cant get to the ball quickly. By the time he reaches the ball, he already loses a point. *sorry for my bad english* My coach always ask me try not to get too far away from the table~

  • Ovtcharov's habit of pushing mostly with his BH would be alright if his BH loop was better. He has a good forehand loop but he can't get in position for it for a 5th ball attack.

  • How can you say his push game is bad? In this highlight reel alone he didn't make a single error, they were all very tight. Furthermore, he was never caught out of position because of it. Different doesn't equal bad.

And for you Chinese buttfuckers, then why don't you go hate on ZJK for his bh returns on service? He too goes just onto the FH side as Dima.

In short: Chinese being blindsighted by Chinese National Team jizz in their eyes.

  • @Merrlol

If Zhang does it, he attack with flick. I think Dima usually does that too, but this match he pushed a lot of those balls. If it works for him, why not, but BH push on Fh side looks ugly as shit.

  • @EetSmakelijk Point is that all of his pushes were tight as. If a Chinese does it it's hailed as a innovation, but if a European does it they call it a failure.

  • @Merrlol

I never doubted the quality of his pushes ;). My comment is based pure on the style. Of course he should do it when it benefits him. He's been Top-10 on the world rankings I believe, who am I to call him a failure. Although I dont think other players will start doing it. Dima just has a very special game, some people like it, some people dont like it. I dont really like it because it doesn't look very smooth to me. Still I respect him though.

  • @EetSmakelijk I agree :) backhand push from forehand side does look ugly as shit, but as you said, it works for him. The backhand flick from the forehand side looks a little better I think.

  • Baum is good

  • 1:51, a good forehand flip from Ovtcharov 0_0 lol

  • Ovtcharovs backhand push in forehand position seems to be more like a bad habit than actually effective at this level.

The point at 3:13 was funny though!

  • @Yawurro Agree. Dima is doing more backhand push around the forehand in this match. Doesn't look like a good habit.

  • Horrible match, Dima is the worst kind of european player, an ant would hit the ball higher than him xD

Paum on the other hand showed a decent style :D

  • Dimitrij is not consistant enough.

  • he's not fast enough that's why he stands away. shibaev had many no touch aces on him last time they played. he would do well to practice in the chinese leagues. timo used to be the same way until after he went to play in superleague.

  • Dimitrij failed this game. Alsohe stood too much away from the table

  • i thot dimitrij was the hope for european players.. but now this style is not gonna work

    1) always backing off, looping at low point. too much time for opponents to react and the loop would be significantly less powerful

    2) recovery time too long.

    3) backhand is not as good as wang zhang oh, it seems in many occasions he is hitting more than looping => less control

he needs to learn from timo, at least timo is not backing off the table as much nowadays

    thx for sharing

  • @perniciousnc his style used to be unique because of the chop service he had, but for top class player it is quite easy to return it back, and he do have preference to play in middle court which is very detrimental when the ball is returned short...

  • @perniciousnc now dima is top 10. hitting earlier and powerfull also close to the table, he really improved.

  • Poor Dimitrij, very nice guy.

  • stimmt. Wenn Baum Schnittabwehr macht, weiß Dima überhaupt nicht mehr weiter

  • Poor Dimitrij

  • Dima obviously struggles against his national team mates because they're used to his unique style.
