The hates of Peter just pepper Peter with accusations that he was inferior as an apostle, and was not the a leader that Jesus would have chosen. Peter, like Moses, had serious faults, Moses stuttered, Peter had a foul mouth , but each were natural born leaders. Moses was a Prince, Peter was the Captain of a Ship. When the Ship looses it's sails and all the lives of the crew and passengers are at peril, the Captain takes up Draconian Law and becomes as God ,as the Captain on High Seas.
In Christ' s time Babylon was totally uninhabited and ruined. So the parallel two falls of the Temple, once taking the Jews to Babylon, secondly taking the Jews to Rome, Rome became allegorical called "Babylon" by the Christians there in Rome. So Peter gave Greetings from Babylon of Rome, to his readers of 1 Peter 5.All early historians agree that Rome became called "Babylon" as code for the older history of Jewish Exile in Babylon. Babylon in that time of Peter was uninhabitable,
1 timothy 2:5 "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time" I'm pretty sure this means we cant pray to mary. Surely we have to look at things from a biblical position, can u really, purely from Matt 16:18 u can suddenly get a papacy thru 2000 yrs. that is just illogical, and it aint even historical, no human being can have authority over Christ's own teachings
@e7c7o7 you really don't have ANY grasp on the teachings of intercession. amen, you do at least grasp the truth that there is only ONE mediator between God and man. the intercessions of Mary, you, me, or ANYBODY else is not substituting the office of Mediator. intercession never puts the intercessor as the end goal of prayer; it simply gives its support in bringing it to God. if your false theology were the case, then NOONE should pray for anyone. do yourself a favor and actually research.
@ddrandguitar03 Don't you see that there is quite a major difference between you praying FOR me and you praying TO me? We are told repeatedly to pray for one another, but in our prayers we pray to the Father in the name of our only mediator the Son, Jesus Christ, I don't see any precedent of doing otherwise. Jesus presents Himself as the only one who can stand in the gap that we need between us and God (Job 9:33) we don't require an mediator to our mediator
I love the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church! Anyone who has not fallen into anti-Catholic bigotry can see that Jesus Christ instituted the Catholic Church in 33ad. Jesus Christ mandated that His Catholic Church shall retain the office of Peter (the pope) who shall forever teach w/o error on Faith and Morals. Praise Be To Jesus Christ!
This is BS. He did not tell all the apostles that whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven. He told Peter (only) whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven! 2000 years.....And yes, the Catholic church has been here for that time.
this speaker comes from an ofshoot of the Church. (may I add, an offshoot from 2 separatist "religions") All of protestantism comes as an offshoot from Catholisism which is real Christianity. Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is true.
