Center back is the only thing I can do. I'm 19 and have been playing for like 2-3 years. Since I was a beginner, they only put me in defense to run at the opposition to create pressure. I started loving it and got really good at it. I am not that much of a dribbler but can steal and clear the ball well.

I enjoy stealing the ball from my enemies, I like to watch them fall and roll on the floor, unable to do something. At first they curse you but after a few tackles they become sad and desperate. If you do your job well you will observe them with a smile on your face as they fall into their knees and cry like babies at the end of the match. No one will think you are the most valuable player but you don't do it for personal glory, you do it for the glory of the team.

when you say football people immediately think of amazing goals and impossible shots or any kind of attack but i think that defending is really difficult i play in the middle of the field but i've played in defense for 4 years in my team and it was absolutely awesome the difference from attack to defence is that instead of making goals you just save them and you feel a greater sense of accomplishment :D

@Marcinjan1 actually thats not true, if the tackle is classed as dangerous, but you get the ball, then the man, the ref usually lets it go, then warns the play to keep his studs down/use one foot/dont come from behind, at half time or full time, or any stoppage. *FOOTBALL is about crunching tackles, hard work, commitment, more crunching tackles, more hard work and more commitment. you obviously have not dont a refereeing course

I Love to play in the Defense, i play for 11 years now, im 17 and i play defense since im 7. I disagree. I believe slide tackling is an art form, rather than a last resort. A good defender should have, in my opinion, accurate slide tackling ability. Secondly, I think it would be extremely difficult to be able to position yourself perfectly and be that intelligent over 90 mins at the pace football is played these days, depending on the league of course. In other words, your gonna get found out at some point in the fast leagues and slide tackling may help if this is the case.

defenders often dont get alotta praise its harder to be a defender than it is to be a striker because of all the paitence knowledge posistioning needed, one untimed tackle can lead to a pen, not running out to the passing threat at the right timing can lead to a goal, when striker is dazzling the defender with footwork and they must place that foot in well timed. when u watch world class defenders like puyol and the duo of vidic and ferdinand they take defending to an art form
