I haven't had a full haircut since my freshman year of high school. I'm now going to be a junior and i'm donating at the January Pantene Beautiful Lengths Pep Rally at my school. I can only imagine right now how it feels to donate. I can't wait!! And after that I won't have deal with long hair anymore! Unless i want to donate it again.
I gave hair today, sorry if this is mean but for some reason he reminded me of joe dirt as a kid. Not to be mean I am just saying, probably cause i saw the movie today lol. and There is no such thing as a selfless act, If you get satifaction out of helping people it is not selfless because you get gratification out of it, just saying.
Hats off to you!! I haven't cut my hair in over 2 1/2 years, and I am planning on doing the same thing this weekend, and you've even encouraged me more. Besides...it's just hair....it WILL grow back!! God bless you!! :)
Sam; you did a really nice thing and may you always have that kindness in your personality!! And since it's 3/13/09 i wish you and your family a very "happy ST. Patricks day"
Locks of Love is fraud. They sell they hair they receive. Don't support his scam. Locks of Love doesn't meet the Better Business Bureaus Standards for Charity Accountability. Research and you'll find out what I wrote is true.
We did research Locks of love. and they DO sell the hair. They sell the pieces that are under 10 inches as they are more expensive to produce into wigs. They use the money they make to offset the cost of the wigs that they DO make. Complete your research before making an ass out of yourself!
LoL have stated that they collect around 2000 ponytails a week, that's over 100,000 ponytails a year. They say it takes 6 to 10 ponytails to make one wig. If we say 10 that would be over 10,000 wigs per year. The have been in business since 1997 and have only made over 2000 wigs in over 10 years. Less than 1% goes to alopecia patients (NOT cancer patients) and EVEN THAT has to be paid by the family as they admit on their own website. So where does the 99% of the hair go?
I don't care if they make mittens for cats out of it! My EIGHT Year old son did something very selfless, on his own. The last thing people need is for jerks like you to try to demean their efforts. People like you are why most people won't do nice things for others. I am blocking your sorry ass ... he doesn't need to see your crap!
Look, sometimes it's hard to accept that you've been conned. It has certainly happened to me. But if we don't learn from our bad experiences, we get conned again. There are plenty of real charity organizations out there, and I definately don't wish people to shun charities, but we have to identify the bad apples if we wish to do any good. Giving a fraudulent organization something doesn't help anyone. Hair doesn't really help anyone anyway, donating money or blood might.
just think u had some disease or cancer and u had no hair, how would u feel about not having ANY hair? I think its nice of him 2 do that so go complain 2 some1 else

So, at Christmas you're more gratified with getting an expensive gift than the fact that someone thought to give you something at all? You're a pig.

What?? That doesn't make any sense at all. You're obviously not a very rational person.

Also check them out at Charity Navigator or Guidestar. I suggest YOU complete your research.

So you'd rather lie to your son than tell him the truth?
