while i haven't seen the specific setup of this building to say for sure (and i don't know how the fawk i haven't made it down there yet), typically the spring setup is to absorb the vibrations of it being a heavy manufacturing plant. otherwise the would have quite literally shook itself apart.

@mralmeister1 yeah, its tough. been abandoned since the 50s. if you go down in the tunnels, you can see the building was built on springs and shit
