In Australia Mercedes Benz cannot sell these trucks into the mainline transport industry. Their engine performance is low compared to American driveline trucks. Their spare parts prices are too high, and active brake assist is dangerous in overtaking situations. Taking control away from the driver without warning is the quickest way to cause an accident rather than prevent one. A true piece of German SHIT.
yeah, it's great. Imagine: the truck is driving on a highway, with many cars behind him on the same lane, the truck stops VERY fast. what will remain of the cars behind the truck ?
@EepilineSander They've got more chance of stopping than if the truck hit something. Also, it would be better for the car to rear end the truck than vice versa. If the car hits the truck then there's only 1,500 kg to stop, if the truck hits the car then there is 35,000 kg going through the car.
Kuwaitis cant drive worth for shit... I drove one of these there as we were redeploying to the US, I swear the BEEEEEEEEEEEP!!! along with the display lighting up like a Christmas tree was a constant headache as the Kuwaitis played Evel Knieval on the 5-8th ring motorways.
this brake assisting package shows up how to protect about unsafe and uneducated truckdrivers. Professional truckdrivers never need stuff like that for they know how to keep their eyes on the road and either they running a safe distance to the vehicle in front them. resume ABA: tecnically top - drivers flop !
