Hell, I'll even tell ya where to find these bands: Metal Archives. I guarantee most of the hair bands will NOT be found on that site -with a few scant exceptions. Metal is an attitude -metal ain't punk, though they are closely related in that respect. Metal ain't about image -it's about playing music that's heavy as hell, regardless of genre. The poser bands in the 80's (that I grew up on) were NOT metal -ever. Do your own research...

As fourteen year old girls back in mid 80s, my friend and I used to make so much fun of Motley Crue, lol. They seemed so phoney for some reason, how could anybody take them seriously...even then.

Scorpions was where it was at and soon after that I went crazy for Bon Jovi because, you know, they seemed real - as real as the 80s hard rock scene got, I suppose.
