  • Who's playing?.Very good performance

  • I have used electronic keyboard not much more than a toys and gone through every sound playing a given piece by Bach and each sound, save the most abject noise, comes to life. This most "authentic" sound is great. I also think the same piece on a piano, with pedal, rubato, and dynamics is great! Bwahaha!

  • It´s coool ! super ! :)

    scher schön !

  • Really harsh sound. Is this really music?

  • @latribe this is music for the harpsichord played on a harpsichord and it's quite a good interpretation too, why shouldn't it be music?

  • Because the sound is so harsh and unsubtle. It sounds more OK coming back to this recording fresh but I had been listening to the rather more delicate interpretation by the lady in the blue dress. Much phrasing seems rushed and it doesn't delight in revelling in the luscious tunes that come to the fore from time to time: then one finds musicality. As I listen again, passages seem to rush at breakneck speed like a sledge out of control on a slope, unable to steer except inevitably downwards.

  • @latribe Haha, that's so pretentious

  • @pianomanthesecond It's not intended to be. I have just explained on another comment in this thread. . . . It's simply the way in which phrases are cherished and the tunes of the music are not cherished. Notes are thrown away in their effect leading from one to another rather than elegantly introducing others.

  • @Teppic91 Hi! I answered this comment below - Because the sound is so harsh and unsubtle. Listening to it again also, at times the performer seems to be rushing the music, taking it headlong, almost as an exercise in saying "just see how fast I can play". There is a bar at around 02:15 which is a good example of this. It's a performance of which I am unable to achieve myself, but music without lingering and relishing of tunes can become noise rather than music. It does not appeal to the heart

  • @latribe

It depends on what the meaning of "is" is.

  • who play?

    in photo original dulcken 1745?
