  • u dnt wanna smell my magic wen i get out of the bathroom

    lolz

  • y is it all wavey?

  • WTF????

  • i smelled the magic from my home... isnt THAT awesome??

  • I couldn't really see a difference, and just tested a video from an iPhone 4 without and WITH stabilization.

Same thing..... marketing hype. Sad, the y need to do something with the iPhone 4 hardware

  • does take ages to stabilise vid but worth it.

  • Its good but why does it take so long to do it for a 3 min video to stabilize, it takes more than 40min. Its crazy I mean like why?

  • @IvanDos24 Because the decision how to stabilize and in what direction is not as easy as it sounds for a computer. For us humans it's very easy because we see it directly... for a computer not so easy

  • It's like it stabilises the middle of the video but the outside is quite shaky. Oh well, still good!

  • the gurl on the right is hawt!

  • I don't see much difference

  • meh, its too shimmery to come across as good quality

  • nice

  • lol ;))

  • excellent work!

  • Does Apple allow visitors to actually go inside it's headquarters?

  • wth theres a bug i dont get the play bar lol...

  • that looks professional

  • 100th 5 STAR

  • cool its apple HQ! :D

  • How can you use the creative vado with imovie 09, the vado uses avi files that imovie can not use?

  • you need to convert it with something like iSquint and then import it into iMovie

  • media-convert(dot)net

  • wow, there's really a difference, im gonna try it out..thanks

  • can you send me the setting you have plz

  • WOW! That's impressive.

  • I can see that is is much more stable, but even then it is very jittery.

  • how did u get imovie 09 to work with vado hd files? did u covert to mov or mpg4 then edit?

  • I made a mountain bike trail movie with a sony camera on my helmet.

    It was jumpy as hell.

    any ideas?

  • iMovie Stabilization

  • a glidecam.

but i don`t think that you can wear it on your helmet. but maybe you should search for glidecam in google or youtube.

  • wow is really!!

  • wow, i saw a big big BIG difference. It says on the descriptiuon to watch teh green thing all the way trhough. First time, it is shky, second time its smootyh

  • HÄH hab ich was verpasst?

    Què Pasa?

  • that's actually a really good feature in imovie i love it

  • I dont see a difference

  • its only distorted and wobbly if the video before stabilizing is not that shaky. Watch other tests.

  • I like the end best. So cool!

  • Thats disgusting perv

  • I didn't mean that, but in fact you gave me an idea, if I keep the right frequency i might get a stable image :)

  • wow thats pretty darn Impressive for a free program

  • iMovie is not free dude!

  • yes but it comes with every Mac

so since I'm buying one it's free for me

  • is it me or does the image look wobly after imovie inplementation

  • You're correct siralexu, the image is shaking/wobbly/distorted so in my humble opinion this filter is useless. A shame because the motion is very smooth.

  • lets hope nvidia's editing program is better it looked very promising at this year's CES

  • Why is there distortion in the video after the stabilisation filter has been applied? That makes it useless even if it smoothens out the video very well. Way to go Apple!

  • It doesn't distort it at all... Granted, the clip is a little grainy but that's because of YouTube. It has nothing to do with iMovie distorting the quality. Way to go Cade78!

  • Seriously, take a better look at the video after the stabilisation. I'm not talking about graininess here (as far as I can tell there is even none). You really aren't seeing the shaking/wobbling with the stabilisation applied? Are you so pro Apple that you "won't" see the distortion? Take a look at the pavement in one of the lower corners as soon as the stabilisized footage begins. Come on now, not everyting that Apple comes up with turns into gold. Btw, I watched the video in high quality.

  • I'm not saying it's perfect, I'm saying it's better then the un-stabilized clip. And I'm not seeing distortion of anything, the only difference I see is the second clip being a little more stable then the first. No distortion in my opinion. I'm not trying to start an arguement or anything by the way. I haven't used iMovie '09 yet, so I'm just basing my opinions on what I see here. The filter could very well have a negative effect, But in this instance I don't think it does.

  • I believe there are different levels of smoothness you can choose. I wonder how smooth he set the video to be...

  • cool

  • I think perhaps the OP was expecting a little too much from this feature duh

  • thats pretty damn good,.

  • There's actually a Free alternative.. It's called Deshaker. This virtual dub plugin is not very user intuitive but has a lot of advanced options... It worked very very well 4 me.. i've been able to stabilize a video i shot while running (!) of course it ended up very weird because there was motion blur, without motion.

  • Meh.. I think you could get a better Stabilization using Adobe After effects. :p

  • how much does AE cost compared to iLife?

    For $75 its pretty awesome

  • AE as in After Effects? AE CS4 = $1000... So, about $922 price difference. Haha -- OOOOOhh.. I think I just realized that I just answered a rhetorical question. Oh well, hah.

  • looks good to me

  • Wow imagin that everyone in that building owns a mac and a iPhone. Wish I could work there 

  • Private characters don't render on other people's machines.

  • What does the magic smell like??? Microsoft Magic smells like shit....Apple magic I would suspect it to smell like apples

  • I don't see much difference between those two...

  • only problem is it seems to shake in certain areas for a few seconds. But not very noticeable.

  • Thats pretty good, I didn't think that the stabilization feature would actually give out good results.... pretty good indeed

  • i think the 1st was beater

  • Tahts how good iMovie is it even plays clips twice just incase you missed it the first time

    (Movie maker is way better)

  • So what kind of image stabilizing has movie maker got?

  • none

  • none

  • dude....WTH

first of all, that was a comparison video...chris played the video twice to make a "before and after the stabilization effect"

Two, How in this damm world is windows movie maker better???

  • it doesn't play twice he played it twice for before and after

  • HAHAHAH

even window fanboy's agree that movie maker sucks!

and it was obviously a BEFORE AFTER video..

  • I was right there in August!!!

  • It's wobbling a little but i watched a few other videos on the stabilization test and they aren't wobbly?

  • there is a huge difference between standard def and high def in this video it is awsome

  • not bad at all

  • Windows 7 FTW

  • It's kind of wobbling after stabilizing.

  • Sorry but the videos in this comparison are shakey. Wasted upload

  • thats the whole point nobber

  • That is pretty good. I noticed the difference right away.

  • it'll probably look better with a real camcorder footage.

  • Does the magic smell like new electronics? :P

  • Chris, you can manually set the size of the movie iMovie exports. Just set it to 1280x720, and render, and you'll have a YouTube HD-ready video.

  • clearly this is a magic trick, Chris magically makes a man appear out of thin air next to the sign

  • lol not a big difference, but still jittering reduced by a lot.

  • much better than the original lol, iMovie '09 is brilliant, it beats Movie Maker by a mile lol, even the first versions of iMovie had more features than that though lol

  • Though, Sony Vegas Pro owns all imo.

  • erm no, That title goes to final cut express and Final Cut Studio the best editing applications ever. Final cut studio is so good 70% of movie studios use it, mac only, Sony vegas sucks. We have at my College a supposed Quad Core Xeon PC 2.8Ghz, 6GB RAM, and Sony Vegas can't even do simple tasks like import in 720p the video was all laggy and the app ket crashing, next day I brought in my Macbook laptop, and imported the HD video with Final Cut Pro, it worked perfectly and much better Quality.

  • You have an Xeon in a PC??? IIRC there for servers. Lemme guess, GeForce2?

  • erm if you read I said my college has one, I would never own a PC i hate them, My house has been PC free for 15 Months now and am proud to say that, I have 5 mac systems.

  • Just explaining the reason of the failing & crashing, doesn't crash on mine, never has. I get nice "Watch in HD" videos with no problems. That PC probably just needs a better graphics card.

  • the Xeon tower had a NVIDIA 8800 GT Card in it, Xeons are intended for high end workstations yes, but Apples mac pro has 8 Core Xeons at 3.2Ghz each. Runs miles better than the PC, its vista it can't cope with HD.

  • I have Vista =\

Wait until the 8 core i7s come out =P

  • Also can you overclock with a Mac?

  • " Runs miles better than the PC"

Stupid comparison, since it's clear what a Mac Pro has to offer, a PC on the other hand could be annything.

  • i have been using Macs 10 years now and am currently in College, doing media production, we have Dual PowerMac G5 towers, and the PC after the horror of its editing capabilities was replaced with a much cheaper 1.83Ghz Mac mini & iMovie '08 as that did a better job than the Xeon System.

  • don't ever mention that crap Premier sucks it crashes 24/7 i've lost my work more than 12 times, so i have to save it like every second, I've been using it for the past 2 years for media at school, when I start college i'll thankfully be using final cut studio 2, like I do at home its miles better

  • i have final cut studio but i like premiere pro better cuz its optimized for my video card (nVIDIA cx ) plus 3 tesla in series, but i have no problems with a skulltrail 8 core QX9775. but anyways preimire pro has some better feature thats not available on FCS. but i do like FCS

  • well I use macs and final cut runs fine on all my mac systems

  • final cut is so much easier; no installing/buying programs just to import HD, and then more programs to export it - definitely less crashing in FCE, but ppro is more practical for editing titles, keyframes etc.

    depends which you used first

ps: this 'stabilization' is bs and non existant

  • well, it rotates and deletes certain frames to make it look smoother. idk what you consider stabalization, but the after clip on the video looks a lot smoother than the before clip.

  • it got worse...

  • Smell the magic? - Did you let one rip? ;-)

  • Sort of a difference, but he barely moved the camera at first so there isn't much to fix. I wonder what it would have been like if the camera shook A LOT! But I have studies iMovie 09 and the stabilizer seemed to be great!

  • all it does is just zooms in the video

  • no it does more

  • wooow, really nice

  • It's a little better.

  • There is a significant difference, but the after-image-stabilization actually looks pretty good, for what it's worth. You can obviously tell that you used the effect, as it's quickly keystoning each frame (if that is a word).

  • Are you sure that it's magic you smell "wafting" in the air, or is it just some new "i-crap" that apple is developing to sell at an outrageous price to their sheeple? Apple crap is just the corporate world saying - hey, these little sheeple will buy anything at any price if we tell them it's the "cool new thing" at whatever price. Buy PC, re-format the hard drive, and go Linux. Open source is the awakening the world needs. Macs crash too, only more surverely than windows.

  • Until Linux can come up with an EASY to use OS it will

remain out of the mainstream! I run Windows Vista,Windows 7 and OSx 10.5.6 on my machine. I

also run Fedora 10 on the other machine but my graphics

card went out on that last week.

  • i am pretty sure the second one got worse

  • the outside looks shitty to me but chris said to look at the one on the sign and it is crazy better than the original.

  • Kewl!

  • That place is unholy, we should nuke it off the face of the Earth to rid this world of shitty apple products!

  • it got stabalized but the quality seemed a tiny bit worse.... lol

  • first one seemed better... sadly...

  • ... are you sure, the second one is more fluid.

  • WOW that is some great improvement.

  • I'm SO pissed... i bought a $1500 new macbook.. then a week later iLife and iWorks 09' comes out.... all i had to do was wait a week and i would have had it for free...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • oh if u go to apple store and tell them u got a macbook and like a week later iLife 09 came out then i think iLife will be 10$ for u not sure but just go and check out your apple store

  • Well you should never buy an apple product a week before macworld.

  • Impressive! Great job to Apple for this one.

  • my nokia n82 has stabilization when recording video and it does work pretty well.

  • you know if you want to get imovie to export in HD you have to export using quicktime and make the settings 1280x720 HD

  • I used to work down the street from some of their offices in Sunnyvale. I used to see different colored apple logos each day.

  • it makes it stabilized but caused the picture to b warped at times. cant decide which way is the better one though. holy shit the guy is peeing at 0:10

  • OMG!!! there's a guy peeing behind the green sign there at 0:10 and at 0:35 when it replays!!! HAHAHAHA i can't stop laughing... sorry i jus had to post twice to let everyone kno!!!

  • there's a guy peeing behind that green sign there....

  • nice spot

  • The vibrations are turned into rhythmic jiggles that hurt my eyes.

  • Okay, so I downloaded the video, and it DEFINITELY works. However, I noticed that it seems to work best for objects toward the center of the screen. Whatever it does, it can't keep the things on the edges of the screen from shaking. However, NONE of the shaking is nearly as bad after stabilization. All in all, it's a nice feature, especially for video newbies; but if you're really into video editing, you should check out Final Cut. ;-) You'll have more control over things, even stabilization.

  • ROFL. People are saying it looks worse after the stabilization. I don't think that's necessarily true. However, the video jumps around (loses frames) even WITH the stabilization on my computer...possibly because I have a PowerBook G4. LOL. I'd like to say I see a difference, but I'm not sure that I do; but I don't think it's WORSE.

  • well im a little disapointed it doesnt really shake when he moves it after but the pic all getwonkey i found but its still gud

  • lol that guy is peeing at 0:10

  • yes i noticed the difference.

  • The stabilization feature would be good for when Im pounding the old lady hard making some home made pornos.

    that would be great.

  • After you put iMovie 09 it kinda shaked even more

  • my moms friend works there

  • still shaky D:

  • very nice

  • wonderful

  • I don't really see a difference, it kind of looks worse after going through iMovie.

  • very nice

  • SuPeR..

  • ooo that is nice

  • honestly i think its worse

  • I was the first viewer of this because he put it on his website and i saw it the second he put it on

  • lol, no life + freak = you

  • sexy

  • impressive

  • Speaking of magic, what's with that chick coming out of fucking nowhere at 0:47??

  • that was a big diffence but i think u should do it with a shaker video so others could see what you mean :)))

ALSO DO ANYONE KNOW IF THEY HAVE THIS FEATURE FOR SONY VEGAS PRO 8.0 FOR WINDOWS

    IF SO PLEASE PM ME

  • not too bad, i would like to see it with a shakier video

  • Makes the image 'wavy.'

    Fail.

  • does imovie 09 accept .avi files now?

  • jfad

  • what?

  • Cool !

    Great !

    But still far from perfect...

  • I didn't see a difference.

  • Not bad.

  • still kind of shaking.
