Also, Grassroots Motorsports Magazine just awarded the Mazda Miata first place in the top 25 best cars in grassroots racing history. No Jetta, No Cobalt SS, sorry. But the RX-7 was in the top 5 I think. They're light, fast, balanced, agile, reliable, and cheap to work on. But I wouldn't expect a boy racer like you to understand anything about real racing.

In BMW cars the first number is the number of the series
for example 135 - 1 series
330 - 3 series
635 - 6 series
the second 2 numbers describe the engine size in litters (note newer engines what are upgraded with turbos sometimes have a lower displacement then the number says)
for example
130 the 30 represents the engine displacement in litters. so its 3.0 litters

Because they had no high performance 6 cylinder engine to fit with an SRT model. The numbers (obviously) dictage cylinder count, and there was no suitable V6... still isn't.

I dont think to many people would buy the new M1. The 1 series is an entry level BMW and people that are shopping in that class probably are not soo much into all the extras that come with a M badge. Its a nice car but there is no real market for it.

As a BMW enthusiast i am appalled that BMW would even consider putting the historic M1 badge on that crappy little upper middle class, college aged, female mall runabout version of a BMW. Call it the 1 series M-Sport, that's what they did with the hot version of the 318Ti without calling it an M3. If BMW does this then they are no better than Dodge when they exploited the Charger badge in order to peddle nasty, heavy, four door sedans.
yeah i actually have a ti with a canvas sunroof, my dad has a 318ti M sport. So personally i think its a great idea even though BMW has already ruined the M name by putting it on the X6
I think the new BMW 5 series should have the paint job as a jersey of the New York Yankee's since they won the world series and all, and it would go well with this episode Race of Champions and the Yankee's Parade of Champions. The Parade was amazing by the way, to bad i paid more for my car in a park garage then money spent in other stores in New York.
Just call them both M1's. Since they're on opposite ends of the accessibility spectrum, there should always be ample context to assure people know which one you're talking about.
While I understand the M1 will have much better handling characteristics, it's sort of low on power. Current JB3, Vishnu, and PROcede mods pump out 400+ HP from the 135i and 335i cars.
Easy. the 300c may not be a CTS in performance, XF in comfort and interior or BMW, Audi and Mercedes in badge prestigeness but the looks shouts a lot of Wealth and Fame especially in DUBS with chrome all over. It's the same story for the Cadillac Escalade.
The 300c is just for show which is why it's a cool car to have but not cool to drive.
Meh, whenever I see someone with a 300C with dubs on it I consider them a thug who either made their money from drugs, hustling, or bank loans.

IMHO I think every other person would buy the cars you mentioned including, CTS, XF, BMW 328i/335i, Audi A4, Mercedes 300/350c, Infiniti G37, or Lexus IS.
Well it's the only purpose I can think of having a 300c. Interior with the wood, the chrome, the clock and so on makes it look like a european luxury car but It's not because everything is all plasticky and a bit cheap. It's may have an STR8 in the badge but it's nowhere near an M5 in performance. It's either they meant to make this car cheap in every way since they know that the buyers will only discard it and add some mods or they REALLY dont make good cars at all.
save the m1 name for the one and only m1, its a classic. that would be like making a new tv show called the brady bunch and it have nothing to do with the old one. BMW needs to remake the m1 and call it the m1 and make the 1series m but call it something different

I drive a 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege. I couldn't agree with you more. I am somewhat of a Mazda fanatic. In my opinion, 2003 was the last year Mazda made exceptionally good looking cars. It all went downhill with the RX-8 and Mazda3. Why? Because they are essentiall just Japanese Fords now.

I think that BMW shouldn't have made the 1 series the way it is. Since they made the 1 series like a normal car I would call the car the 1M, but they should make a new M1 possibly called the M10 or something like that.
Maybe the new Viper can be the same thing as the cheapest Ferrari, kind of like the Lamborghini Gallardo and the Audi R8. They're the same car just two different audiences.
So the Dodge Viper can be the same thing as the 458 Italia

I dont think to many people would buy the new M1. The 1 series is an entry level BMW and people that are shopping in that class probably are not soo much into all the extras that come with a M badge. Its a nice car but there is no real market for it.

No M2 would be stupid because the car is based on the 1series. Who knows maby BMW wants to build a 2series in a few years. Plus they won't call it m1 because that will be their supercar, probably.

The 5 series ain't "bangled" anymore but it still is far from beautiful. It has some cues from the 7 series which is the one that is "bangled"
At least have that BMW CS concept's body for the 5 series.

As a BMW enthusiast i am appalled that BMW would even consider putting the historic M1 badge on that crappy little upper middle class, college aged, female mall runabout version of a BMW. Call it the 1 series M-Sport, that's what they did with the hot version of the 318Ti without calling it an M3. If BMW does this then they are no better than Dodge when they exploited the Charger badge in order to peddle nasty, heavy, four door sedans.

yeah i actually have a ti with a canvas sunroof, my dad has a 318ti M sport. So personally i think its a great idea even though BMW has already ruined the M name by putting it on the X6

I think the new BMW 5 series should have the paint job as a jersey of the New York Yankee's since they won the world series and all, and it would go well with this episode Race of Champions and the Yankee's Parade of Champions. The Parade was amazing by the way, to bad i paid more for my car in a park garage then money spent in other stores in New York.

While I understand the M1 will have much better handling characteristics, it's sort of low on power. Current JB3, Vishnu, and PROcede mods pump out 400+ HP from the 135i and 335i cars.

-Sebring is one of the ugliest and worst cars in the world.
-Jeeps are large and fuel inefficient cars. SUV sales are going down for smaller more efficient cars. Not the best market to be improving on.
-300C. Lol! Black people can't get loans from banks anymore to buy their favorite car to put 24 inch rims on. Again, another failure of a car.
Not a fan of the looks of the Fiat 500 but apparently it is a really good car. IMHO it is the only thing Chrysler seems to be doing right though.

Easy. the 300c may not be a CTS in performance, XF in comfort and interior or BMW, Audi and Mercedes in badge prestigeness but the looks shouts a lot of Wealth and Fame especially in DUBS with chrome all over. It's the same story for the Cadillac Escalade.
The 300c is just for show which is why it's a cool car to have but not cool to drive.

Meh, whenever I see someone with a 300C with dubs on it I consider them a thug who either made their money from drugs, hustling, or bank loans.
It may not always be the case but the probability is high.
IMHO I think every other person would buy the cars you mentioned including, CTS, XF, BMW 328i/335i, Audi A4, Mercedes 300/350c, Infiniti G37, or Lexus IS.

Well it's the only purpose I can think of having a 300c. Interior with the wood, the chrome, the clock and so on makes it look like a european luxury car but It's not because everything is all plasticky and a bit cheap. It's may have an STR8 in the badge but it's nowhere near an M5 in performance. It's either they meant to make this car cheap in every way since they know that the buyers will only discard it and add some mods or they REALLY dont make good cars at all.

not that im answering the question right but i think that bmw should make both. theyll make some good money off the m version of the 135 and then use that money along with the other money they get form selling the other cars and use that to produce some of those m1's like the concept (which is fucking beautiful if i do say so myself). good show btw got any lotus news?

I drive a 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege. I couldn't agree with you more. I am somewhat of a Mazda fanatic. In my opinion, 2003 was the last year Mazda made exceptionally good looking cars. It all went downhill with the RX-8 and Mazda3. Why? Because they are essentiall just Japanese Fords now.

I think that BMW shouldn't have made the 1 series the way it is. Since they made the 1 series like a normal car I would call the car the 1M, but they should make a new M1 possibly called the M10 or something like that.
