they played this song at my sisters wedding when they were dancing around and the bride and groom were being lifted up in their chairs. Its a traditional thing to do at a Jewish wedding ceremony.

nope, Aniben11's response is correct. it was because of the rule that no more than 6 artists are allowed on stage. Rechter was there and presented as the conductor (as "Jonathan Rechter") before the song started. it's true that Rechter was the last to join the band but that was before they became famous.

just a curiosity, is Israel located in Europe? Seems to me not. Besides, most of european people (not the politicians, of course) scorn Israel and condem its atrocities. Israel would never make peace with its neighbours even if it had the chance to do so. They feel they are superior to them in every sense, big mistake, they will finish annihilated under the land they stole

It's interesting to compare this performance by Kaveret with the others that are posted here (thank you all, by the way!). They're such an interesting, funny, energetic band! I'm guessing they felt they had to tone it down for the Eurovision crowd. This music brings back a lot of memories of summer camp, particularly Yo Ya, and the dance that went along with it.

I haven't heard this stuff since I was a kid and my grandparents brought the album back from Israel to the States. I knew the band name as "Poogy", but aparently it's "Kaveret". Can anyone tell me why this is and what the 2 names mean?

kaveret is the home of the bees. poogy is just a name it has no meaning

Kaverets' forst album was Called "Sepooray Poogy", in english, Poogys' stories. Poogy was the name of a character referred to in one of the stories, Hamagafaim Shel Baruch".
