  • She is supposed to be seated at nintey degrees to the patient not forty-five, like she is.

    She sould be facing the opposite wall.

    Later, she seems to have moved her chair, to a more technically correct position; obiously take two, or some such thing.

  • @LieutenantShweinHund ... There's no "technically correct" placement of the chair. In general, the analyst needs to be out of the patient's field of view, but able to hear clearly what the patient says and have some visual awareness of the patient's affects. Some patients are uncomfortable with the lack of contact that comes from not being able to see the analyst's face, so they are often accommodated by being seated in a chair facing the analyst. What's "correct" is what the pair agree on.
