right place at the right time, i guess......i wish the guys who really spent the time to learn the formline and live the life could stumble upon this kind of exposure. he's got a pretty cute daughter tho.....
haida art is passed on through apprenticeships there are rules to haida art and it is based on formline obviously this guy does not understand formline and is merely copying pictures he saw i hate seeing people taking advantage of something they dont understand and tryin to make money off of it. makes me feel violated as a haida born and raised on haida gwaii
Oh I love your work, it's different, it's elegant, it has character...But I am partial to anything Indian, because I love their delicate subtle artistic touch with nature.
Really nice interview.
As to some of the comments, I guess people don't have anything positive to do with their lives, and choose to spend their time trashing other people efforts at bringing beauty to this world...(Show us what you've got lady!) Oh well.
Some people appreciate art for its relative and subjective value...
I found both artist's work valuable for my own reasons and admire the spirit of their ambition. Communicating with and sharing their own Haida culture through these pieces must be respected as a very spiritual experience. It should be encouraged by those who appreciate their intent, method, and deeper connection. Not to mention they're f-ing beautiful.
hahahahahaha! The comments are a hilarious example of Native Americans lining up to support each other, no wonder they lost!
Keep ripping him a new one!
