  • I know he'll never see this comment but im gonna post it anyways because im half asleep XD, from everyone in my family(all huskies fans) we miss that number 34 squirming out of the backfield. Anyways, good luck in the NFL, you got "The Admiral" at quarterback, you'll do great.

  • 4.46 in the 40 and yes, he can block. Kiper mentioned it during the draft pick. The organization mentioned it when they discussed the pick.

He also looks like he protects the ball pretty well and changes hands fluidly. Nice little stiff arm. Solid moves, excellent vision and patience. Catches the ball.

Smart player - knows when and how to avoid the hit. Probably also has an excellent grasp of blocking schemes and routes..

Shines early and steals the majority of PT IMO.

  • this guy is gravy, hope the colts see what they have in this guy and dont give that loser addai too many carries. brown is great but hes gota get on the field, i think the colts know whats up, addai 3.5 ypc last year... on a spread offence that opens up running lanes thats not acceptable, brown would go for 3.5 ypc running backwards on the colts.

  • "fit right in with the Colts" perhaps... but he's not BLAZING fast (NCAA Corners are catching him in the open field). Can he block? That's probably going to be the true-test for Brown in 2009. We know Addai can block, and Peyton's comfort is really what matters.

  • very good vision, patience and speed. left too early, though? perhaps.

  • yea i don't know what you guys are talking about... this guys is fast. his combine numbers prove that.

  • Looks like he's going to be a pretty good back, really follows his blocks, very patient that will bode well for him in the NFL. I also hear he is very strong. My only concern is he is definitely not very fast and that may be his only weakness as guys at this level are all fast.

  • Are you kidding me Donny went to my highschool and hes got tremendous speed. He ran his 40 yrd dash in 4.50 and his 20yrd shuttle in 4.1 sec.

  • NICE!!! he is a wondeful addition to my team!! he a great tandem for joe addai

  • Definitely has shades of Barry Sanders. So smooth. And I don't know if I've seen a more patient runner come out of college than this guy. He'll fit in well at Indy, for sure.

  • just a lil more speed and hed be perfect, even tho he looks injury prone, well see

  • seriously looks like a barry sanders type RB... if he is ohhh man watch out

  • Donald Brown

  • What can Brown do for you? Touchdowns!!!! Go Colts!!!

  • welcome to indy, we were waiting for the 2 headed monster, that weve been missing for the last 2 yearss.

  • what 2 headed monster? Joe Addai will be on the bench by mid season. I will be the Donald B show in Indy.............. :)

  • the kids got alot of heart, he'll bring serious assistance to the colts running game... gotta love em

go uconn and good luck donald brown

  • thomas brown is only 211 and hes an every down back same with willie parker hes only 205 and hes also an every down back so i think he'll make it

  • cant wait to see brown in the colts offense i think hes gonna really help out the running game and give addai nice rests when hes tearin shit up

  • What's the song?

  • Spencer Davis Group - Gimme Some Lovin

  • very talented back, I think he should have a productive career...one concern is at 210 lbs, despite his strength for his size, he may not ever be able to take the pounding that goes with being an every down back. if he can put the weight on and keep the speed an explosiveness i think the colts are on to a winner

but hey, adrian peterson isn't an every down back, and people already consider him the best,

  • This was a perfect pickup for the Colts, taken brown over wells was the best for this team. Wells would of never fit into the Colts offense,Brown fits in perfectly. Brown will be a Chris Johnson this year maybe, and he will earn the starting role in the middle of the year

  • This guy is going to be perfect for our colts guys. Welcome to Indy Donald. You'd look amazing in Blue and White.!!!!! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE 3 HEADED MONSTER IN OUR RUN GAME!!!!!!!!!

    GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Go Colts!

  • What can brown do for you? i guess the colts will find out

  • he's a great player & a great person...the whole package

  • I got him in with my first pick in my Dynasty League rookie draft. Nice to get a kid in a dynasty league who you don't have to worry about showing up on a police blotter every weekend.... like say ::::cough::: anyone ever drafted by the Bengels :::cough::::: Go Donald!

  • u got that right... and guess wat team he play for?

    COLTS BABYYYYYYYY

  • Colts are going to win the superbowl!!!! Brown is what we needed! Go Colts! fuck yeah! whos with me?

  • That boy's got speed, and is very explosive. And the way he makes people miss tackles is just amazing. I think he'll fit in JUST fine with the Colts. I love Addai, but he better watch his back (pun intended) this year.

  • I watched both brown and knowshon from pop warner through high school and collage knowshon always was ithe one in the spot light while donnie stood back and stayed quite never to boost about him self brown was a stronger RB from day 1 knoeshon is going to be a nother T.O OR PLAXCO he always had that gangsta att

  • nice pic..this had also better light a fire under addai's arse too..

  • he would be great if our offensive line could run block even a little bit. i hated when we tried to run at all last year. joseph and dominic got stuffed every single time! but they are all dominant pass blockers they just need to run block better!

    Go Colts!!

  • Uconn didn't have a QB last year. Everyone expected the run and stuffed the box and he still led the nation in rushing. He might just turn out alright.

  • true that but college and the nfl are two very different things. nfl is the big boys but if donald brown keeps doin what he does then us colts are gonna be aightt

  • Remember at the beginning of last season though? Manning barely had 2 seconds to throw the ball. Thats one of the major reasons for our horrible start. We do need to get the run blocking back up to par, but we need to make sure Manning has plenty of time to work the CBs into making the mistake and freeing up Gonzo, Wayne or Clark. Now, with Addai healthy and Brown in the backfield, I think its time we had a pair of 1000 yard rushers in the books by the end of the season.

  • Ive been wanting another running back in indy the past 2 years. I have never been impressed with addai and am glad we brought in Brown. I was originally hoping for Knowshon but Brown is going to be the right guy for the job. LETS GO COLTS

  • Go Colts

  • Great Compliment to an Offence looking for a burst of energy from the backfield lets go INDY!!!!!

  • UCONN....HUSKIES!!!

  • this could spell trouble for Addai, injured most of last year, and asking for more money ?

    polian dont play that

  • Two backs. Indy started the trend (at least brought it out ALOT more in the NFL) when they won the SB in 06.

This guy looks tough. With him AND Addai sharing time, I don't see their running game being a problem. It'll keep both young guys fresh.

  • for real..big trouble for addai. If the colts had complete faith in addai they would have drafted a DT in the first. I wanted Hood from Mizzou but they passed. I think that brown could be an exciting player but if addai is healthy, he's the man.

  • I say a rotation like rhodes did with addai with a little Mike Hart thrown in there.

  • I saw this kid on ESPN in an interview and he seems like the most classy athlete I've seen in a long time.

He has a good talent and attitude. He's gonna be special.

    Go INDY.

  • wonder whos going to be better now, addia or brown. We will soon know.BELIEVE IN BLUE

  • so glad he's with the colts

  • I agree, white and blue jersey. I'm guessing he'll get his superbowl ring as a rookie like mr. addai. once the guy starts training for nfl he's going to be bigger and faster.

  • great footwork and quickness, can't wait to see him with a colts jersey on.

  • indi for life

  • looks like a good fit for the colts!

  • welcome 2 the squad my boy!

  • go colts!

  • GO COLTS

  • two words can descibe it all, STUD and BEAST. good thing he's on the colts since mike heart is hurt.

  • Hey yeah!!! the colts r gonna be unstoppable in the backfield

  • welcome to the colts,

  • He's a Colt.

  • i hope he does good w. the colts!

  • colts new beast

  • WELCOME TO THE COLTS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The New Indianapolis Colt

  • welcome to the Colts

  • GO COLTS!

  • @ 2:06......that juke is sick

  • no way is he faster then moreno. thts relly the only thing i disagrre with. If he was faster then moreno, he would be the top running back.

  • Well Brown ran 4.51 and Moreno ran 4.62 at the combine. Moreno ran a 4.6 at his pro day and Brown decided to sit on his combine time. It's obviously not the best "football speed" measure, but running the same day in the same conditions, Brown has run faster

  • yea thats my bad right after i replied to your comment i was like...oh yeaaaa he is right. aha

    my bad.

  • shon green ran a 4.50 at his pro day and is 230

  • he ran alot faster than slow as moreno..i want shonn green whos way bigger and just as fast

  • Brown is faster than knoshawn get over it.

  • nice video ... brown does alot of things well... solid player with good speed and good moves. very smart running back. will do well in nfl

  • Cardinals at 31. Count it!

  • hell ya!! GO CARDS!!!

  • He will carry the cards to another super bowl next year baby!!! rookie of the year

  • we'll have to see. GO CARDS

  • With Thomas Jones not showing up to camp, I really want the Jets to trade down with someone who wants Freeman and take this guy. Then we can trade TJ and a 3rd to the Cards for Boldin, which there's a lot of talk about that trade exactly. Then resign Leon long term. Brown will be special in the NFL, this guy has unbelievable vision, and game speed.

He will be a 1st round pick though, so all you people wanting him in the 2nd, it most likely won't happen.

  • Impressive! One small note, notice how he keeps the ball to the sideline. Nice move. Something all coaches preach but hardly anyone does anymore.

  • donald brown might not be the fastest or the biggest. but in the nfl it isnt just about speed. the ability to make defenders miss and find the hole is just as if not more important. for example reggie bush and marion barber. haha there is no comparison barber is the better running back and reggie bush is the one with the 4.33 speed. my point is that donald will be a great running back not a burner but productive.

  • #31 to the Cardinals. The Eagles are going to take Knowshon Moreno at 21.

  • This guy can play

  • He reminds me of Derrick Ward

  • Seahawks round 2

  • I also want this.

  • Did you see that boy's extra gear at 2:27?! Ouch! I'm tired of hearing the knock on all these players without 'breakaway/open field speed' like Brown and Crabtree. They can play ball, enough said. Great pickup for any team

  • our team eagles will end up pickin him up in the 2nd round unless they pick up chris wells or knowshown moreno in the 1st round or pick up leasean mccoy in the 2nd round. these our my favroute runningbacks in the draft including donald brown

  • id like to see the Eagles get Knowshon, but if he's gone already, they might have to get Brown at 21, because the Colts might be tempted to pick up Brown at 27

  • I was going to say the same thing. He would be a great back up for BWest. Also this kid is very smart and carries himself pretty well just like Bwest just incase a contract issue appears. Bwest took his contract dispute in a intelligent manner to get the deal done unlike other players on our time. So I can see a future in him if we don't get Knowshon.

  • donald brown is a carbon copy of matt forte with regards to college production... the only reason this guy isnt the #1 rated rb is cuz their schedule was weak, just like forte at tulane, and lack of a pro-style offense at uconn

  • Great comparison. I've been comparing him to Forte for awhile, they're similar runners. I do think Brown will be a better runner than Forte though, and that's saying something, cause forte had a damn good rookie season.

  • He reminds me of Emmitt Smith. Not huge, not a blazer, but great vision and instincts. He's quite a bit faster than Knowshon Moreno, and they came from the same High School system. its just that Moreno played for Georgia, so everyone has seen him.

  • hes gona be great for the eagles looking forward to seeing him play YEAA EAGLES

  • oh my god, he looks just like Derrick Ward except much, much better feet, why isn't he the #1 rated running back? those are all-Pro linebackers Clint Sintim that this guy is schooling out there so its not like theres a lack of competition

  • This guy will be an EAGLE

  • Hell yeah he'll be a perfect fit in philadelphia.

  • I am thinking this too. Damn we need this guy.

  • late second round pick. no doubt he has talent, its just that most of the teams dont really need a back.

  • I think he'll be long gone by then. He's too good to fall that far.

  • PHILLY NATION DOES....

  • Cool music!

  • nice footwork damn!

  • he's averaging over 28 carries a game and had over 2,000 rushing yards which led the nation. why isn't he the highest projected RB in this Draft?

  • This guy will be a late first round pick, I don't see him going to the Browns.

  • Can you say Brian Westbrook Jr.

  • Doesnt play like Westbrook he seems more like Willie Parker which is still very good

  • I see him as a B West type player. Maybe a B West D Ward Hybrid.

  • brown to the cardinals! unless they pick up moreno

  • he will be picked in the 1st round for sure. remember chris johnson anyone? he was supposed to be a 2nd-3rd round pick, but tennessee took him in the 1st. i expect either philly, new york giants, or az to take him.

  • I think that he is going to the Philadelphia Eagles

    Mock Draft:

    21st: Donald Brown

Trade 28th to Giants for 29th and 45th

29th: Duke Robinson or Eben Britton

    45th: Jared Cook

    53rd: Rashad Jennings

    85th: Nic Harris

  • i hope the browns get donald brown hed be a good fit for them plus their my favorite team

  • hes a really elusive and agile back.

what team you guys think hes going to???

and why do i hear browns?? doesnt cleavland have jamal lewis?

  • he is gonna be an eagle! i cant wait! i see another westbrook!

  • he is gonna be an eagle!!!!!! looks a lot like westbrook!!!!

  • Donald Brown will be playing for the Cleveland Browns next year. Hope he is a stud

  • sleeper

  • Impressive - hope he makes it to the 2nd so the Browns can snag him..........

  • i dont understand why he is not going to be a first round pick. he is betta than a lot of the Runningbacks thats gone get picked ahead of him. he remain me of LT with his elusiveness. watch out for him in the NFL .

  • his foot work is amazing

  • I KNOW!! I keep saying Brown is good and nobody is really talking about him....he is going to be a star on somebody's team

  • he handles the rock such a smooth transition with the ball.......great vision!

  • lol he looks like a small adrian peterson with his ability to run up the middle and then slide outside, rather than boucnign outside all the time.

Hope he slides to the Browns in the 2nd, given he s from UConn

  • He isn't very big or blazing fast. He just knows how to play!

  • The combine is this weekend.

Watch his time in the 40. It will be a LOT faster than most people in this thread think.

  • he ran a 4.51 not particularly fast, but his power stats are insane: vertical and broad jumps, and his lateral speed aint too bad either

  • yeh but he doesnt seem to drop any speed as well when stepping and like you said he has a lot of strength

look at beanie wells.. ran a 4.59 but his stiff arm and ability to break tackles will make him an early first round pick

  • He looks good, doesn't dance around he just hits the hole hard, great vision...I like him alot more then Shonn Greene, very instinctive back who will move the chains at the next level.

  • 'he's not big or blazing fast but can play!' sorry, i don't like cliches. the reason why he's good is that he places his feet wide when running and makes small changes in direction while running that screw up the defender's pursuit angles. so a defender will think he has an angle on brown, and he'll change his direction just a lil while running w/o slowing down and the defender is grasping at air. he's agile, but not in the sense that he makes sharp, barry sanders-like cut

  • I hope the Ravens draft him. He isn't very big or blazing fast. He just knows how to play football.

  • I really REALLY want this guy to be a Raven. He isn't very big or blazing fast but he knows to carry the rock.

  • Do you really need another back you have a 3 tandem back system INCLUDING you last years draft pick ray rice who put similar numbers up as brown

  • He's coming to the Browns.

  • he is easily better then he was two years ago!

  • hmm that kid would knock 'em dead in the mile high city. anybody send this to Shanahan?

  • can't wait to see him run all over rutgers in his home state

  • D Brown for Heisman!!

  • Yeah!, he already has 1000+ rushing yards after 5 games! you're lucky to get 1000 in your whole season in the NFL and college! D-Brown for Heismen and UCONN for the Big East!!!!

  • went to this game also...only problem is UConn needs to work on special teams we cant give up good field position up like that. Its going to come back and bite us in the ass with teams as good or better than us.

  • ok ty

  • did andre dixon play????

  • No, he is still recovering from an ankle injury

  • UNSTOPPABLE

  • i went to this game last night donald brown and uconn tored up virginia
