  • wanna go there and enjoy the beach!

  • Citing BP oil spill, Schwarzenegger drops offshore drilling plan.

  • I was on vacation at Orange Beach until June 4, but when I was about to leave, I could smell the oil. The smell was horrible, and covered the whole city of Orange Beach. Is that smell gone now? Or can you still smell the oil.

  • @Danielt104 The smell has varied from day to day, even hour to hour. A lot depends on the wind. Some areas report no smell, others refer to the smell as similar to an asphalt parking lot. I imagine we will be dealing with some degree of oil smell for a while longer.

  • Even if there isn't any oil present, the impact of it in the immediate area leaks into "clean" water, and sea life. Even microscopic particles have a great impact over time.

  • A swimming advisory has been issued. Swimming is discouraged, not banned. And many areas of the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach coastline were oil-free today.

  • Why are people in the water if it has oil in it?

  • @CaitLynnex333 There are large sections of water that do not have oil present, and people are swimming and wading with no oil contact being made.
