The glock 26 is a 9mm. The glock 23 is a .40 and the xdm 45 3.8 is a .45. So I listed 3 different calibers. So they are not all the same like you said. So use your brain man.

I've wanted one of thse ever since Springfield released the XDM 3.8 in9mm and .40 cal. People told me it would never happen because the barrel length would be too short for the 45 acp. Guess what my next purchase is going to be.

Good advice on testing what you carry. I got a good buy on an old 1911. It fired ball ammo and hollow points just fine. Until....I bought some extra magazines. Evidently the angle of the metal guide was not as it should be because the hollow points would jam the nose just below the opening of the chamber with two of the four new mags. I took it to a gunsmith and he told me he had worked on other 1911's that did not seat JHP rounds well. We test fired at his range and it WAS the mags.

I'm hoping they come out with a conversion barrel for xdm compact .45 to a 9mm for those long days at the range. That will be the END ALL ccw weapon for me. You would potentially have 4 pistols in one with purchase of a conversion barrel and a couple of magazines! A .45 compact/full size AND a 9mm compact/full size. AMAZING

Only if the grip were 1/2 inch longer this would be the perfect carry weapon. It is just a bit longer than the G30 but yet has a slightly shorter grip, to me it's a bit lopsided. I wish the grip of the G30 was a bit longer to make it a perfect handgun. Just my opinion of course.

Great shooting as usual Hickok. You shoot so well I wanted your advice on this pistol. You probably haven't checked out my videos but I own a good amount of XDM's and Glocks. Is this pistol, the XDM 45 3.8, as easy to shoot as the Glock 30? I shoot the G30 very well and I have an XDM9 3.8 compact that I shoot very well also. How does this pistol compare to those? I'm on the fence as to whether or not to spend the money if it has any problem's, it is a new gun. Thank you sir.

What do you think of the metal mags vs. the polymer mags?

@troopcom, AS long as they work, I don't really care. I find that the polymer AK-47 mags, for example, seem to fit and work better in my AK. So, I use the polymer Bulgarian Circle 10 mags almost exclusively. Function is always wins over form for me with a firearm.

@scare215crow, I've always preferred the recoil and point-of-impact characteristics of 230 grain ammo in the .45ACP. It's all I shoot in anything chambered for that cartridge.

Yep, works except for .22. For it to load .22 you have to either file down the steel feeding lip of the Uplula loader or buy the MiniUplula.

@gixxerafdude That's the speed loader that's shipped with the gun. It's proprietary and is designed for the XDM magazines, so it might not work with other double stack .45 magazines.
